Chapter 2: Slapping the In-Laws

The girl huddled against the wall, wailing but not daring to run away.

"Grandpa, I was wrong, please stop hitting me, stop hitting me, wuwuwu..."

"I'll beat you to death, you traitor..."

The Bai family members stood aside, looking like they were enjoying the show, and no one stepped forward to dissuade them.

On the other side, Tang Youyou was helped back to her home.

Leaning on the broken bed and looking at his four sons, he felt his head hurt even more.

The eldest son, Baihu, is fifteen years old. He can barely be seen as a child of fourteen or fifteen, but he is so thin that he is just skin and bones.

The second son, Bai Shi, was twelve years old, and his hands were so black that it was unbearable to look at.

The third son, Bai Xiong, who was ten years old, looked her up and down with his black eyes.

The youngest son, Bai Mao, was six years old. He stood upright with a smile on his face, looking a little childish.

Tang Youyou sighed. What the hell was going on? White eagle, white tiger, white lion, white bear, white cat.

Who the hell came up with this name?

Is this a zoo?

The children were barefoot and wearing patched coarse linen clothes with half of their trouser legs exposed. They all looked pale and thin, as if they were malnourished.

His eyes fell on the thatched roof that was leaking a little, and he suddenly felt sad.

What sin have I committed? Oh, God, why don't you just send down a thunderbolt and kill me?

“Boom!”

The summer rainstorms come suddenly.

A drop of rain landed on the tip of Tang Youyou's nose. She cursed inwardly. Fortunately, it was midsummer. If it was winter, wouldn't she have frozen to death again?

The four children hurried forward to help her up, and they came to Baihu's room, which was the only room without any loopholes.

Originally, the thatched house was in a dilapidated state, with leaks everywhere, and it only had two rooms: a bedroom and a main room that served as a dining room and a storage room.

In order to help his eldest son get married, the original owner built a new house, which was also the only one that was not leaky.

Baihu scratched his head and said, "I'm sorry to trouble you tonight."

Tang Youyou looked at the honest child, then glanced at his daughter-in-law lying on the bed: "How is Huahua?"

Baihu shook his head: "My son just asked Old Man Han for help, but he said our family is too poor and he won't let us see him!"

Hearing this, Tang Youyou sighed. Their family was indeed the poorest family in the village.

"Go dig in the kitchen ash pit. There's a small box. Go to the village head's house and exchange it for some food!"

Bai Hu was overjoyed: "Mom, do we still have money?"

Tang Youyou glared at him: "What are you still standing there for? Go quickly, I don't know how long this rain will last!"

"Mom, we don't have anything at home right now. I'm going to the back mountain to dig some wild vegetables."

"I'm going too..."

The four sons went out at the same time, and Tang Youyou shouted: "Don't go, the rain is too heavy, it's too dangerous..."

As I glanced at the things in the small bamboo basket, a mechanical voice suddenly rang in my mind:

[Ding! Found pure natural chickweed!]
