Chapter 36 A Beautiful Tail

Chapter 36 A Beautiful Tail

"You bastard?" Zhan Yunmei raised an eyebrow and repeated it with a slight upward inflection at the end.

The annoyance and resentment that came out of Hua Lang's mouth contained not a trace of anger; on the contrary, it sounded like... a way of tempting her to carry out punishment.

He lifted his face, their noses touching, and the instant she looked up, Hua Lang recoiled guiltily. Panic made him lose his reason.

Just as Hua Lang's lower back was about to hit the edge of the table, Zhan Yunmei took the initiative to pull him into her arms with her palm, placing her hand behind his back to prevent him from accidentally bumping into the table again.

Although she gained weight, it wasn't within the normal range; her body was still thin and weak. She already had very little fat around her waist, so this bump was quite serious. The bruises would take several days to heal.

"careful."

A tight embrace makes one feel completely at ease.

It was so warm—her embrace, her voice, everything was so warm. Hua Lang suddenly lost her strength and couldn't wrestle with Zhan Yunmei anymore; all her strength seemed to have vanished.

He lay limp, sprawled on her chest.

"Is Eunuch Hua Lang so clingy?" Zhan Yunmei lowered her head and kissed his lips, which were swollen from being kissed.

I kissed him too hard just now, and his lips broke open. Now I'm kissing him repeatedly, and the wound is constantly being irritated, causing endless pain.

"It hurts...it hurts so much..." he pleaded, his words broken and fragmented.

But begging for mercy wouldn't make Zhan Yunmei give up. As long as she wanted it, she would continue to attack that goal and wouldn't let go until she was satisfied.

The guardhouse was so quiet you could hear a pin drop; even the slightest sound could be detected by the guards outside.

Hua Lang tried his best to suppress his trembling voice and buried his face in her chest as much as possible to prevent the sound from spreading outside.

He would only grab her sleeve and protest when the pain became unbearable.

"Just bear with it, okay?" she coaxed patiently.

"You bastard, you bastard..."

She enjoyed listening to his weak and humiliating insults; they sounded so seductive that she couldn't bring herself to be angry with him.

Zhan Yunmei noticed that Hua Lang seemed quite excited to hear him say that.

She could already picture his ruddy face, lying on the couch cursing—it would surely be alluring.

She glanced at the secret cabinet under the bed, then kissed Hua Lang again, her eyebrows curving slightly.

After reviewing the military affairs register, Zhan Yunmei gave Hua Lang a few instructions and then took the princess into the palace.

Before leaving, she asked him, "Do you want to go back to the manor?"

That's a good question.

Of course he wanted to, but this place wasn't as safe as the manor. But with her here, he didn't want to go back. He just wanted to be with her, even if it was just watching her from the sidelines.

“No,” he shook his head, “I’ll wait for the general to return.”

"Oh?" Zhan Yunmei hadn't seen him be so straightforward before, and she was surprised to hear it this time. She smiled and said, "Okay, if it's too late, go to sleep first. I'll wake you up when I get back."

Hua Lang nodded, shook his head, then nodded again, "Mm."

Just wait, she'll come back when she's done with her work.

Waiting in the manor is the same as waiting here, but perhaps it's better here because there's a chance to catch a glimpse of her.

Hua Lang sat on the empty armchair, looking out the long window. The curtains were closed, and light shone through the light-colored curtains. The dazzling snow outside made the curtains glow.

It's a bit too bright.

He lowered his eyes and sat obediently waiting.

In the afternoon, a servant came and brought in a letter addressed to Zhan Yunmei. Since she was not on duty, the servant casually slipped the letter through the crack under the door.

Hua Lang quickly noticed that the envelope was plain and simple, and did not look like military documents.

He placed the envelope on Zhan Yunmei's desk. Although he was a little curious about what it was, he didn't look at it much and went back to his chair.

.

The Chaotian Hall was finally filled with the pleasant scent of sandalwood incense, unlike the pungent and strong incense used to be. Outside the palace, heavy snow and dark clouds pressed down, but inside the hall, the lights were bright.

Through the folding fan, Zhan Yunmei could see the emperor frantically busy, with memorials coming one after another.

"Minister Zhan," the emperor raised his head and saw Zhan Yunmei kneeling behind the folding fan through the openwork design, "come in."

There was a stack of memorials on the table, and she pointed to the one on top.

This means it's for Zhan Yunmei to see.

He stepped forward, took down the memorial, and began to read it.

The content was brief, just a few sentences, but it already made Zhan Yunmei frown.

The emperor threw down the memorial in his hand, rubbed his forehead and leaned on the table. After a moment of silence, when he looked up, Zhan Yunmei saw that he had dark circles under his eyes, as if he hadn't slept for many days.

Zhan Yunmei knelt behind the table.

More than a year after the previous dynasty fell, most of the surrounding provinces had surrendered. The Southern Yuan Province, located on the southern border, had also surrendered, but it had become restless again recently.

The memorial was sent by a secret agent from the Southern Yuan Province.

Zhang Quansu was from Nanyuan Province. Although he was a cabinet minister, he had no place in the new dynasty. His advice to the emperor was never adopted, and it was rumored that the new dynasty did not accept Nanyuan Province and was ostracizing the border regions.

"Everything was fine before, but now that the New Year is almost here, they're pulling this stunt!" The emperor slammed his fist on the table. "That old pedantic scholar!"

If the emperor was willing to resort to surgery and draw blood, Zhang Quansu, who was always testing the emperor's limits, would inevitably start by harming him.

"Indeed shrewd." The emperor was furious.

The emperor didn't give Zhan Yunmei a chance to think. He quickly came up with a new idea, and the arrogance on his face vanished in an instant, replaced by a smirk.

He propped himself up with his hand, supporting his head: "Minister Zhan, let's invite a powerful former official from the Southern Yuan Province to the New Year's banquet!"

The emperor didn't reveal his purpose this time, but she always sets the stage beforehand. Before anyone could even give her a hint, Zhan Yunmei understood.

Isn't the goal simply to find her a powerful former official from the Southern Yuan Province? The new dynasty has never been one to exterminate everyone. Finding such a person is not easy, but it's not like finding a needle in a haystack either.

After pondering for a moment, the emperor said, "Then please invite... that person from the general's residence!"

...

Nanyuan Province, located in the southernmost border region, produced many powerful officials from previous dynasties, the most famous of whom was Zhang Quansu, who served as a cabinet minister in two dynasties.

Is there one more...?

Zhan Yunmei looked at the person sleeping on the small couch in the duty room.

She flicked her finger, gently stroking his cheek, then rubbing it down until it touched his lightly covered lips.

He seemed to be fast asleep. He felt someone touching his face, but he only frowned slightly and did not resist much.

"Hua Lang?" Zhan Yunmei sat by the couch and called softly to the person sleeping on the couch.

No one answered.

never mind.

Since he doesn't want to wake up, let him go.

Just as Zhan Yunmei withdrew her hand, she suddenly felt a warm, wet sensation on her fingertips. Startled, she turned to look at the bed. Hua Lang was clearly still asleep, but he habitually opened his lips and took her finger into his mouth.

She wasn't really in the mood for fun, but he acted like this.

Unable to resist, driven by a wicked impulse, I probed inside.

Hua Lang flinched, and in the shadow of Zhan Yunmei leaning down, he groggily woke up. He was still not fully awake, and subconsciously opened his lips and gently rubbed them together.

Zhan Yunmei blinked, reached out, pulled out the wolf fang from Hua Lang's collar, and snatched the person away.

The cloak billowed slightly as the wind blew in, and as Hua Lang entered Zhan Yunmei's embrace, the cloak fell back down, covering the two of them.

Hua Lang woke up, grabbed that wicked hand, and half-heartedly resisted, "General, I feel unwell."

"Okay, I'm not playing with you anymore," Zhan Yunmei said, pulling her hand away and rubbing his lips with her saliva, making them wet, red, and swollen.

Hua Lang unconsciously moved closer to Zhan Yunmei, getting very close, yet still greedily and insatiably drawn closer, as if he wanted to give her his whole body.

She watched, and a subtle smile curved her lips.

After lying there for a while, Hua Lang noticed that it was a bit dark around him. He peeked out and looked over Zhan Yunmei's shoulder. Outside the long window, everything was a dark blue.

It was already dark.

"Aren't you going back?" he asked.

"Come back, I came to pick you up."

He loved it when she held his hand; her hands were firm and strong, warm, and he couldn't feel the cold of the winter snow outside.

Her calloused hands were rough, but not painful; she used just the right amount of pressure to avoid hurting him.

She would only deliberately hurt him if he provoked her.

Hua Lang had little expression, her eyes always lowered, but she could tell that her eyes had lost much of their gloom and were different from before.

"Hua Lang".

He paused, then looked at her. "Go ahead and say it."

What did your family do before?

Hua Lang didn't understand Zhan Yunmei's meaning at first, but he still tried to think along the lines of her question. Unfortunately, too much time had passed and he really couldn't remember clearly.

So he told the truth: "I only remember that he came from an official family, and I can't remember anything else."

“Oh,” she said thoughtfully.

When the topic of his background came up, Hua Lang unexpectedly remembered the letter that his attendant had sent, and he handed it to Zhan Yunmei.

"What is this?" she asked as she took it, already knowing it was sent from home.

"I didn't open it to check."

Zhan Yunmei glanced at it briefly and put it aside. "It's from home. The emperor invited my mother to the New Year's banquet, and she told me she would come."

Hua Lang curiously peered out.

He was very curious about what kind of family could raise someone like Zhan Yunmei.

But Zhan Yunmei didn't give him a chance to see and covered his eyes.

Upon losing his sight, Hua Lang was momentarily terrified, but quickly realized that Zhan Yunmei was beside him and he was safe, so he calmed down and asked, "General?"

“Yes, I am,” she replied.

She slipped something into his hand. He squeezed it; it was furry and felt quite comfortable. He just didn't know what it was.

He asked, "What is this?"

She laughed and said, "Tail."

Hua Lang didn't understand what Zhan Yunmei meant at first, but she quickly realized. She wasn't lying; it was indeed a tail, a fluffy white tail, about half an arm's length long, and very bushy.

The tail returned to its proper place.

He gripped the soft pillow tightly, his fair hands revealing bones and tendons, tinged with a faint blush.

Zhan Yunmei leaned close to Hua Lang's ear and kissed the back of his flushed ear. "The Emperor is holding a New Year's banquet. You'll come with me."

This was not a request or inquiry, but a notification that left her with no choice.

An indescribable throbbing pain overwhelmed Hua Lang's senses. He vaguely heard her voice, but he couldn't think straight. He wanted to respond, but his voice trembled, and he couldn't utter a single word.

But he had to respond to her; he thought he would be sad if he spoke to her and she ignored him.

She turned half her face out from the soft pillow, revealing half of her lips, which trembled as she spoke, "...Okay."

Just when everyone thought Hua Lang wouldn't respond, Zhan Yunmei kissed his moist lips. As she kissed him, he responded with a very small gesture, carefully holding her tongue in his mouth.

She looked too weak, as if she could be bullied at will. With a wicked thought, she deliberately bit his tongue that he had just hooked onto her tongue.

Pain, unbearable discomfort, and pleasure surged from every part of Hua Lang's body, overwhelming her reason. Unable to resist, she could only bury herself back into the soft pillow, letting out a few low, ambiguous moans.

"I'm here with you, I won't leave," Zhan Yunmei comforted her while looking back.

The beautiful, fluffy tail swayed with a tremor, swinging in exquisite arcs from side to side. Unlike the body of the tail, the tip was wet, forming a small point.

Its tail wagged faster and faster.

She longed to press on his wound, that wound that would never heal, to watch him sob and weep, to see his eyes red and his voice broken.

However, if you actually press it, he'll be the one who breaks first.

After thinking about it, I decided against it.

After Hua Lang's tears soaked the soft pillow, Zhan Yunmei took a clean handkerchief to wipe him clean, and at the same time held him in her arms, gently coaxing and comforting him.

She rested her head on his head so that he wouldn't know her gaze was fixed on the wet, drooping tail on the table.

"Oh, by the way, I can also see my mother at the New Year's banquet."

As Hua Lang was falling asleep, he vaguely heard Zhan Yunmei say something.

Zhan Yunmei's mother?

There was a hint of excitement in him.

Does she want to introduce him to her family?

This inexplicably gave him a sense of being recognized. No matter how others knew of his existence, they would always be outsiders. Only when Zhan Yunmei recognized and accepted him did he truly feel that he was by her side.

—Actually, I was very excited.

Hua Lang slowly opened his eyes, wrapped his arms around Zhan Yunmei, and quietly tucked her nightgown into his palm, so that they could stay together forever.

Feeling tired, he remembered that he hadn't answered Zhan Yunmei yet.

He nodded with difficulty, "Okay."
