Unexpected results
Qi Xu's painting wasn't finished coloring when get out of class ended. She packed up her colored pencils and handed them back to him, saying, "What did you want to see me about?"
"What is it?" In fact, he himself didn't know why, he had already forgotten the way he came: "Nothing." He returned to his seat.
After school in the afternoon, Qi was walking home alone when someone shouted, "Watch out!" as he passed the basketball court.
Following the gaze across the basketball court, the basketball was about to hit the boy, who was chatting with his classmates without noticing. Qi Xu ran over and took the basketball to his side.
She dribbled the basketball a few times, lifted it with one hand, and looked at Hao Nan, saying, "Are you alright?"
Hao Nan stared at Qi Xu, thinking, "How did I end up being saved by a girl? This isn't right. Shouldn't I be the one saving her? Why is it like this?"
"Hao Nan? Hao Nan!" Qi Xu couldn't help but shout loudly.
Hao Nan's ears were practically shattered by the loud noise. He covered his ears and said angrily, "Why is your voice so loud!"
Xu Sheng punched him: "How can you talk to a girl like that?"
Hao Nan glared at Xu Sheng.
Qi Xu said with dissatisfaction, "You're just spacing out there, how can you hear me if I don't raise my voice!" She then raised her voice again.
Enraged, Hao Nan shouted, "Seven Xu!"
Qi Xu and Xu Sheng laughed at him.
"If it weren't for me, you would have been hit by the ball today. Be more careful next time." Qi Xu returned the ball to the people on the field and left.
As soon as I opened the door, familiar faces came into view.
"Han Xue, what are you doing at my house?"
Han Xue handed the strawberries in her hand to her: "Have some strawberries, little sister."
Qi Xu stared intently at the strawberries in her hand, then called out to the kitchen, "Mom, are you there?"
The person who came out of the kitchen was an adult male. Seeing Qi Xu return, he put on a kind smile: "Qi Xu, you're back. It's me, uh..."
Qi Xu ignored the visitor, returned to his room, and locked the door.
A person was studying painting techniques in a room, engrossed in their work, ignoring numerous knocks on the door, automatically shutting out anyone outside.
Han Cheng sighed helplessly: "Qi Xu still refuses to accept me."
“Dad, it’s just a matter of time. I believe that if my sister feels loved, she will accept you. Besides, everyone needs time,” Han Xue said, sitting next to him.
"Xiaoxue, you two are in the same school and the same class, so you can't act like a spoiled princess anymore. Take good care of your sister."
"Dad, don't worry, I will take good care of my sister."
Qi Xu's mother returned, looked around but couldn't find Qi Xu, and asked, "Where is Qi Xu?"
Han Xue said, "My younger sister is in the bedroom."
Seventh Mother knocked on the door and said, "Seventh Xu, come out for dinner."
Hearing the sound, Qi Xu looked up, then returned to his own business.
The door remained closed for a long time, so Seventh Mother couldn't help but knock on it again: "Seventh Xu! What are you doing locked in your room? Come out!"
Han Xue said, "Mom, my sister is probably doing her homework, so let's not disturb her."
"How much homework could there be? Can't you do it after dinner? What's with the tantrum?"
"Mom, let's go eat first."
Not long after the group sat down at the dining table, the door opened, and Qi Xu changed his clothes and put on his shoes: "I'm going out to get a package."
I went to an open space and took out my phone to call the unanswered call.
"Excuse me, are you Teacher Qi Xu?"
"Yes, what can I do for you?"
"Your artwork is very good. Since you are a minor now, you can come to the company to work as an adult once you come of age. We will reserve a position for you."
"Alternatively, I suggest you come to the company sometime to learn some digital drawing skills, solidify your basic practical knowledge, and you can achieve good results when you grow up."
I'll try my best.
"No need to try your best. We are a large company with branches all over the world. We are always ready to serve you whenever you want. Your gift has been delivered. Please remember to sign for it."
Qi went to the express station and searched for his packages. Strange, why wasn't 3018 there? There were only 3017 and 3019. He searched for a long time but couldn't find 3018.
I went to the front desk and asked, "I can't find my package. I've looked for it so many times."
Hao Nan, who was playing a game, said irritably, "Go check again yourself, it's definitely there."
Qi Xu felt he looked familiar, and looked closer: "Hao Nan?"
He said impatiently, "Who are you? Go find it yourself." His eyes never left his phone.
Qi Xu took his phone directly. When he looked up and saw it was Qi Xu, his anger didn't subside. He kept his eyes fixed on the phone, trying to snatch it back, but she dodged him.
"Give me your phone. How could the package be lost? Let's look for it again." While talking to her, his eyes were also fixed on the phone screen. When he saw a car pass by, he was sweating bullets. When he saw that she was still alive, he breathed a sigh of relief.
Qi Xu noticed his nervous expression, glanced at the phone screen, and asked, "What game is this?"
"Give it to me, I'll finish typing and then find a courier for you," Hao Nan pleaded, looking at her expectantly.
Qi Xu returned the phone to him, saying, "This package is very important to me."
"I understand, I understand." He got excited as soon as he got his phone.
Bored, she went back to look for it again, searching through all the boxes, but still couldn't find it.
Seeing how focused and happy he was playing the game, driven by curiosity, she moved a stool and sat down next to him.
I stared at him for a long time, completely baffled. How did he know there were people from such a distance? And how are his fingers so nimble? It looks kind of cool.
She wanted to try the game too, and couldn't help but ask, "What game is this? I want to play it too."
"You? Forget it." Hao Nan couldn't help but laugh.
Whom do you look down on?
A gunshot rang out. Satisfied, he put down his phone, which displayed first place on the screen. He boasted to her, "I'm awesome, right? If you want to play this game, you'll have to wait eight hundred years."
Qi Xu kicked him in dissatisfaction: "Find the courier."
"Girls are really strange."
Her fierce warning look instantly transformed her from a gentle girl next door into a tough woman: "8-13018."
He got up and started looking through her package, but after searching for a long time he couldn't find it: "That's strange. This shouldn't be happening. Are you sure you didn't see it wrong?"
She replied firmly, "No."
Upon checking the surveillance footage at the computer, the screen showed a middle-aged woman with long hair taking two packages, one of which contained a 7-yuan package.
"You know her?"
“I know him,” she said, her expression serious as she stared at the screen.
He took a step, then stepped back and asked, "What was the name of the game we just played?"
"Peace Elite"
She nodded, and when she got home, she immediately noticed that her package on the table had been torn open, leaving only the box; the package inside was gone.
"Mom, where's my package?" she asked, barely managing to suppress her emotions.
"You mean those comic books? You're almost a senior in high school and you're still not focused on your studies. I've already given your comic books to your aunt's daughter. She liked them, so I gave them to her."
"That's mine! You gave it away without my permission. Do you have any respect for me?" She screamed, tears streaming down her face. That art book was the last one left, a symbol of her success.
The seventh mother was displeased and pointed at her, roaring, "I am your mother! If I don't respect you, do you think outsiders will?"
"What a mother!" She slammed the door shut in anger, then leaned against it, hugging herself tightly.
Seventh Mother, unwilling to give up, knocked on the door and shouted, "Seventh Xu, open the door! What do you mean? Open the door!"
Han Cheng and Han Xue, who had just returned from grocery shopping, pulled Qi's mother to the sofa and comforted her, saying, "Calm down. It's just a rebellious phase. She won't be like this when she grows up."
Han Xue knocked on the door: "Little sister, don't be angry."
"Who's your sister! I'm not!"
Qi Xu's anger, which had just subsided by half, flared up again: "Xiao Xue, ignore her. She has a terrible temper. How did I raise someone like this? She's not even as well-behaved and sensible as the neighbor's child."
"It's someone else's child again!" she roared, opening the door. "Then go and bring someone else's child back to raise! What am I for? Besides, I wasn't raised by you, I was raised by my dad. I have absolutely nothing to do with you!"
"You think I want to raise you? If I could do it all over again, I would never agree to let you into the house. You're so weak and helpless. I bet you were bullied to death by those people when you were a kid."
Qi Xu felt like a joke. It turned out that Ci Yan knew everything, but she just didn't want to care. In a fit of anger, she ran away from home. She knew that Ci Yan didn't like her, but she never expected that Ci Yan would hate her to this extent.
I remember when I was transitioning from elementary to middle school, I was bullied by my classmates. When I told my mother about it, instead of comforting her, I was scolded.
Although she had become very strong inside, this happened shortly after her father's death, and she couldn't help but waver.
"There are so many other people, why are they bullying you and not others? It must be because you have too many problems."
Her repeated attempts to defend herself only earned her mother's accusations.
However, Tingyue from next door was different. When her family saw that their daughter had some injuries, they asked her why. They said that if she was bullied by others, they would take it directly to the school, giving their daughter a lot of confidence.
Parents can't compare to other parents, let alone impose their demands on their children. It's not that they're unwilling, but that they don't want to do anything.
She ran wildly until it suddenly started raining. She didn't care about the rain and continued running in the rainy night. Finally, she couldn't hold back anymore and stopped, squatting on the ground and crying loudly.
Soaked to the bone, I walked numbly in the heavy rain, found a corner to sit down, and hugged myself tightly.
Han Xue and Han Cheng were about to go out to look for her when their mother stopped them, saying confidently, "She's so timid, she won't stay outside for long. She'll come back on her own."
That night, she stayed out all night, and no one came looking for her. When she returned home at dawn, she bumped into her mother who was on her way to work. All she could say was, "Yes, I'm back."
She chuckled, probably because she hadn't died outside and was getting in her way.
Qi Xu's eyes turned fierce, his gaze following Ci Yan's back. The more you ignore me, the more I will appear in front of you, and the more I will surpass you.
Back in my room, I took a hot shower, changed my clothes, put what I needed into my backpack, and headed to school.
