New Company, New Challenges

New Company, New Challenges

The author of the silver ear fungus novel had long been aware of Qi Xu's situation. Despite repeated complaints, she never gave up and eventually achieved her goal.

He had originally planned to invite Qi Xu, but someone else beat him to it.

Left with no other option, he had to withdraw the invitation and step back to wait for the next opportunity.

On the other side, Qi Xu rushed back to her rented room, sat down at the table, placed a mirror, and carefully dressed herself up, wanting to make herself look like she valued this opportunity.

After quickly getting ready, she took a car to her new company, her excitement written all the way on her face.

Upon arriving at the company, Qi Xu calmly walked inside.

Before long, someone came out to greet her and told her to sit down and wait, and that someone would take care of her later.

Meanwhile, Meng Jia was still studying painting techniques in her own studio when Qi Nina called her downstairs.

She looked at her mother, who was sitting on the sofa reading a book with an air of elegance and poise, and complained, "You have to maintain your elegance even at home. It's so depressing."

Hearing her daughter's complaints, Qi Nina didn't get angry. Instead, she looked at her with affection and smiled gently, replying, "I'm used to it. Are you tired? Go out for a walk, go to the company, maybe you'll discover something new."

"I'm not going," Meng Jia said decisively.

"Sigh~ Since you don't want to go, then I'll have them leave." Qi Nina looked at her with feigned distress.

Meng Jia knew immediately that her mother must have successfully recruited Qi Xu to the company; her plan had succeeded! A happy smile immediately spread across her face as she hugged her mother tightly and said joyfully, "Thank you, Mom."

"Who told you to be my daughter?" Qi Nina said, pinching her cheek.

Meng Jia immediately got up, tidied herself up, and happily ran to the company.

As soon as she entered the company, she looked around for Qi Xu's figure.

Qi Xu was sitting on the sofa at that moment, his face also beaming with a happy smile.

While she was still immersed in her beautiful fantasies about the future, a sudden figure startled her, and she froze on the spot.

"Meng Jia? What are you doing here?" Qi Xu looked at her with a puzzled expression.

"Because we're in the same company now, Sister Qi Xu, it's great to see you again!" Meng Jia couldn't contain her joy at seeing her idol again.

"How did you end up at this company? Aren't you working at Mingcheng anymore?"

"Ever since you left, the company has started to exploit me. In the end, I had no choice but to leave." Meng Jia put on a convincing act, gently wiping away tears as she spoke. Her movements were not exaggerated, but rather appeared very natural, making people believe her.

"Uh..." Qi Xu didn't know what to say for a moment, and couldn't tell whether what she said was true or false, but seeing how sad Meng Jia was, and thinking about the setbacks she had encountered at the company, she felt that Meng Jia might be telling the truth.

"Alright, now that we're in the same company, you can come to me anytime if you have any problems," Qi Xu comforted him.

Meng Jia's eyes, which were covered by her hand, suddenly brightened, but she maintained her sorrowful expression and did not respond for a long time.

Qi Xu then added, "Don't be sad. Let's work together and make those who look down on us unable to reach us!" Her attitude was very firm, and she looked intently at Meng Jia.

Meng Jia slowly raised her head, looked into Qi Xu's eyes, and asked weakly, "Really? Will you help me? Will you help me correct the mistakes in the painting?" A hint of expectation appeared in her eyes.

This made Qi Xu's heart skip a beat, and he vaguely felt that he might have been fooled, but then he thought that perhaps he was being too vigilant.

After all, during the time she spent with Meng Jia at Mingcheng Company, she felt that Meng Jia was not cunning and even had a touch of frankness.

Even if she was indeed fooled, Meng Jia's purpose seemed to be only to improve her painting skills, and she only had painting on her mind. Everything else was probably centered around painting skills.

"Of course!" Qi Xu answered confidently.

Although she received a clear answer from Qi Xu, Meng Jia suppressed her inner joy and simply nodded in order not to reveal any flaws.

However, the excitement in her eyes had already betrayed her. Qi Xu had actually realized that she was lying, but she didn't expose her because she felt that Meng Jiagou was not a threat.

"Oh, right, I've been sitting here for so long, why hasn't anyone come to greet me yet?" Qi Xu complained somewhat unhappily, "The flowers are about to wither, and I haven't even taken the first step."

Meng Jia smiled awkwardly, pointed to herself, and gestured for Qi Xu to notice her.

Qi Xu looked at her and naturally understood what she meant, but in order to punish her for her earlier deception, he deliberately teased her: "Are you feeling unwell? Then let's go to the hospital quickly."

"I'm not feeling unwell, I... it's me, me." She looked at her expectantly, hoping she would understand what she meant.

“I know it’s you. Your name is Meng Jia. We are collaborators.”

Meng Jia was completely fooled by Qi Xu and had no choice but to get straight to the point: "I'll take care of you, and from now on we'll be best partners!"

"Oh, it's you. Well, I'm quite lucky then."

"You were the one who hosted me last time, so this time it's my turn to take on that role."

The two entered the company, and Qi Xu was so confused that he couldn't tell which way was which.

Fortunately, Meng Jia was with her, so she didn't get lost. Looking at the countless departments in front of her, Meng Jia was also very nervous, but luckily she often came to the company, so she didn't get stuck or lost.

Meng Jia brought Qi Xu to the comics department and arranged a seat for her right next to herself.

She sometimes participates in training sessions at the company to learn workplace knowledge and job skills.

Qi Xu sat at his workstation, still feeling somewhat unreal, even a little dazed: Had he just walked in like this?

"What should I do now?" Qi Xu turned to Meng Jia and asked.

"It's probably just to familiarize yourself with the company environment and the procedures for handling various tasks." Meng Jia took out a small dessert from the drawer and handed it to her. "Have something to eat first."

"Thank you." Qi Xu took the dessert and ate it with Meng Jia.

Then, Meng Jia took out a stack of books and placed them on Qi Xu's desk: "This is what I looked like when I first came here. Take a look at them first." After saying that, she left the office, leaving Qi Xu alone in the crowd.

Qi Xu looked at the tall stack of books, took them down one by one, and her lips twitched slightly. She had read all of these books.

But there's nothing else to do right now, so I'm just passing the time by reading.

So she sat quietly in her seat and began to read attentively.

The office was extremely quiet; the only sound was the turning of pages.

After Meng Jia left, the other staff members all turned their attention to Qi Xu.

They exchanged glances and raised their eyebrows.

At this moment, a woman walked straight to Qi Xu's side, picked up the book next to her, and said in a slightly teasing tone, "Oh, new here, reading a book?" Everyone else also put down their work and looked at Qi Xu.

Qi Xu didn't even look up, continuing to read the book in his hand, too lazy to pay attention to her, and more than that, he disdained to deal with such a person.

She knew exactly why she was there, so she had no desire to deal with these irrelevant people.

"What's the name of the new guy?"

"Seventy." Her voice was so low it was almost frightening.

The woman who had been provoking her clearly paused for a moment, then reacted with a smile and said, "Looks quite young, huh? Starting out so early in your career, how's your drawing skill?"

"generally."

"Normal? Then how did you get in? Our company doesn't hire unemployed people." She continued to chat with Qi Xu casually, relentlessly.

Qi Xu was really annoyed. He slammed the book shut, turned to look at the woman, and bluntly pointed out her thoughts: "You want me to do things for you, right? Don't waste your energy."

Then, her gaze swept over everyone around her.

Immediately afterwards, the woman next to Qi Xu suddenly clapped her hands and burst into laughter, and the others joined in the laughter.

The woman in the lead softened her gaze and said to her, "Little sister, since you're so young, we won't make things difficult for you."

"However, take my advice: you're probably not of any use here except for helping us with our tasks. Since you're unwilling, we won't bother you any longer."

Everyone looked away and refocused their attention on their work.

After the woman who had caused trouble for Qi Xu returned to her seat, she glanced at Qi Xu again, her eyes filled with both admiration and a hint of regret. She shook her head and then went back to her work.

Qi Xu was very vigilant and perceptive. She sensed that something was wrong and sat down to ponder, repeatedly thinking about what the woman had said, but she couldn't figure it out no matter what.

This annoyed her, so she simply put the problem out of her mind and refocused on her books.

Meng Jia then arrived at her father's studio and excitedly ran inside, exclaiming, "Dad!"

Mr. Meng looked at his daughter with excitement, his face full of a kind smile: "Oh, Jiajia is here. Let Daddy have a good look at her."

"Jiajia has gotten fatter again." Mr. Meng hadn't seen his daughter in a long time and missed her terribly; the smile on his face never faded.

"Hmph, you're saying I'm fat again!" Meng Jia turned away playfully, ignoring him.

"Hey, hey, that's not what I meant. Dad meant that Jiajia has raised herself to be the most beautiful and the best!" Mr. Meng quickly explained, trying to salvage his reputation.

"Okay, Dad, I know." Meng Jia sat down in the chair, picked up the milk tea on the table and drank it, looking very happy.

Meng's father also sat down in his seat, and seeing his daughter's happy expression, he was overjoyed.

After taking a sip of milk tea, Meng Jia seemed to suddenly remember something, stopped what she was doing, and asked, "Dad, what kind of job are you planning to arrange for Sister Qi Xu?"

"Don't rush. New employees need to be observed for a period of time before we can see if they are capable."

“Our company needs people with real skills, not just those who give us opportunities. Opportunities are for those who are prepared.” Meng’s father’s tone instantly switched from that of a kind father to that of a serious boss.

"So you're just going to let her stay at the company idle for the next few days? Doing absolutely nothing?"

"Not entirely. It depends on whether she can seize the opportunity. However, this trial period is a good time for her to tutor Jiajia in drawing skills."

"Dad, Sister Qi is really outstanding. It's a waste of talent like this." Meng Jia was still somewhat dissatisfied with her father's arrangement.

"Jiajia, you need to understand that to judge whether a person is capable, you can't just look at one aspect. You also need to look at the decisions she makes when dealing with problems and her overall performance in all aspects."

"You can't let your own selfish desires over the bigger picture," Meng's father patiently explained to her.

Meng Jia actually understood all these principles and agreed with her father's approach. She just wanted to repay Qi Xu for helping her a lot before.

In the end, she agreed with her father's idea and nodded.
