Chapter 5: Making a contract with a demon? That sounds ominous...
Shu Xin: "Huh? Goat horns, bat wings, heart-shaped tail, vertical pupils, and a very perfect human form, you must be a succubus, right? Judging from the state of your horns and wings, you should still be a minor?"
The wings on his back suddenly unfurled, and the boy frantically touched his horns, his slender tail swaying uneasily from side to side: [How could this be! I clearly folded them away!]
Shu Xin said sincerely, "That's not important. I think you can definitely sense that I have no ill intentions towards you, and I really need your help!"
The boy touched his horn again. His concealment magic had failed, but even if he wasn't facing a succubus, but just an ordinary demon, shouldn't the elf's reaction be normal? Speaking of which, what kind of elf is a riverside elf? He'd never heard of it before.
Shu Xin frankly stated her purpose—she wanted to use his overflowing magic to extract magic from her own body.
"Do you know what you're saying?" the blond boy exclaimed in horror. "Are you crazy or am I? Extracting magic? I don't have a penchant for helping people commit suicide! Wait! Overflowing magic? My magic is overflowing? Damn it! What the hell is this place?!"
After a brief moment of panic, the blond boy quickly calmed down: "Very well, you need my help, right? I need your help too. To ensure our help is fair and just, I think we need to sign a contract first, okay?"
Making a contract with a succubus? Succubi are a type of demon, right? Making a contract with a demon sounds really ominous!
After thinking for a moment, Shu Xin nodded: "Since it's a fair and just contract, I think you wouldn't mind if I used an Eye of Lefra before signing the contract?"
The Eye of Lefra is a very basic judgment magic in the original body's memories. It is named after the creator god of the Lefra continent because it can transcend time and space and give an absolutely correct and true judgment result. Moreover, it does not consume much magic power. The magic power that is currently dissipating in the air is enough.
The blond boy's expression turned somewhat strange: "You really are an elf?"
Shu Xin: "Huh?"
"I've never heard of any river elves." The blond boy's gaze swept over the girl's flamboyant tentacles and wings, and he shrugged. "But only elves can use the Eye of Lefra."
His blond hair suddenly turned black, and his narrow pupils widened instantly. The same features remained, but his black eyes with golden pupils and jet-black curly hair transformed the once innocent and harmless boy into a monstrous creature radiating malevolence. He laughed, his tone soft and slow:
[Since I possess the Eye of Lefra, I'll be frank: I'm starving. I need food, I need to use your body, absorb your soul, share your life, and devour your emotions—only then can I survive.]
Shu Xin shrugged, mimicking his earlier gesture: "That doesn't sound very fair or just."
The black-haired demon gave a graceful, gentlemanly bow: "In exchange, you may use my body, my soul, my life, and my emotions in return."
“But I don’t need any of what you’re saying. I just need magic,” Shu Xin said, organizing her thoughts as she spoke. “You mean, if I give you my body, soul, life, and emotions, you can survive? Does that mean that as long as you survive, you can continuously provide me with magic?”
The black-haired demon was somewhat taken aback, but quickly chuckled with delight: "Of course, of course! However, under the watchful eye of the Eye of Lefra, I can't guarantee how much magic power you'll receive in return. After all, fairness is important~"
“That’s fine then. Providing just enough energy to keep you alive should be enough,” Shu Xin replied calmly.
The black-haired demon smiled ambiguously, without saying a word.
Shu Xin mobilized the magic in the air and released the magic of the Eye of Lefra.
Two curved lines are drawn out of thin air with a faint gold color. Although it is just a simple line drawing of closed eyes, it still makes people feel that these eyes have unparalleled holiness and beauty.
Shu Xin asked, "Eye of Lefra, is the contract I'm about to sign with this demon in front of me fair and just?"
The pale gold lines slowly curved upwards, and the smiling Eye of Lefra represented the answer as "yes".
"Alright, let's sign the contract!" Shu Xin turned her gaze to the golden-haired monster.
The other person was almost impatient: "It's very simple, just give me your hand."
Shu Xin handed over her right hand, and the next second the black-haired demon bent down, took her hand, and gently kissed her fingertips.
Shu Xin felt as if a large amount of blood was being lost from the depths of her heart. At the same time, a strong sense of weakness swept over her body as she received some new information in her mind. The coldness on her soul level made her tremble uncontrollably.
The succubus, now back to his blonde, blue-eyed form, reluctantly released the girl's hand. He licked his lips, a mixture of satisfaction and greed in his eyes: "This is only a third of what I'm full..."
"If I eat any more, I'll die," Shu Xin said expressionlessly.
Unable to resist, she hugged herself. Once she stopped trembling, Shu Xin glanced at the simple, deep red magic mark on the back of her hand: "Is this your name? Xi? How strange, why would you print your name on the back of my hand?"
Xi nonchalantly tore open her black robe: "Because I'm not important to you, that's why my name appears on the back of your hand, while your name is imprinted on my heart."
The demon, who resembled a frail young man, had lean and muscular muscles. On his chest, there were indeed two pale gold Elvish characters with intricate and picturesque strokes: Shuxin.
Shu Xin: ...It feels even stranger now.
“Now it’s your turn to help me. All I need is magic.” Reaching out to pull up the blond boy’s collar, Shu Xin suddenly remembered something: “The message I just received said you’re already 132 years old?”
Xi frowned slightly, looking a little annoyed: "I'm an adult now, you should know that succubi don't have males. I'm a hybrid of a succubus and a dream demon. Who knows why I look like this?"
Shu Xin: "It's good that you're an adult, otherwise I'd feel like I'm exploiting teenagers as child laborers. Give me magic, Xi, I need it tomorrow."
"It's my pleasure to serve you, my master~" the blond boy said in a very cheerful tone.
However, less than five minutes later, he screamed in agony: "God of Creation! How much magic do you need?! I haven't eaten enough! I'm going to die! I'm really going to die!"
"It can at least allow me to unleash the magic of five large spells," Shu Xin replied earnestly. She looked at the translucent crystal floating in mid-air in front of her, shimmering with light, and was very satisfied: "Your magic is of very high quality. Only the purest magic can directly condense into this kind of complete magic gem."
"That's because the energy you provided was pure! Five! Large-scale spells! I should have just starved to death!" Xi gritted her teeth, but never stopped supplying magic power.
Only when another magic gem condensed in his palm did he roll his eyes, plop down on the ground, and loudly complain, "I don't know if you're crazy or I'm crazy! Casting a large-scale spell in this place that's practically a magic-free zone is as ridiculous as splashing water on the sun! I actually provided you with magic power! I'll definitely go to heaven after I die!"
"They're really pretty!" Shu Xin grabbed both magic gems, feeling quite pleased. "Problem solved perfectly! Goodnight, Xi~ See you tomorrow~"
Turning to go back to her bedroom, Shu Xin couldn't take a step. She looked down at the blond boy who was hugging her leg and asked, "What are you doing?"
Xi said matter-of-factly, "I'm hungry, I want to eat."
Shu Xin: "...If I eat any more, I'm really going to die."
Xi remained defiant: "I know, I didn't say I wanted to eat now. Are you saying I can't even smell the food if I'm not allowed to eat?"
Shu Xin: …………
In the end, Shu Xin still brought the hungry half-succubus to her room.
The flower fairy, whose life and soul had been drained, was actually very tired. The half-succubus, who had just had a large amount of magic power extracted from her body, was not much better off. The two half-dead non-human creatures huddled together, falling asleep faster than the other on the hard wooden bed covered with only a thick layer of leaves.
There was a light and pleasant scent in her breath. When Shu Xin woke up the next day, she was momentarily disoriented and didn't know what day it was. After she came to her senses, she became even more confused—she was dead, she had transmigrated, she had become a flower fairy princess, she had been exiled, and she had made a pact with a demon.
...Signing a contract with the demon won't immediately ensure that all the flower fairies are well-fed.
Shu Xin instantly became as clear-headed as could be.

Love comes from my drafts. [Heart emoji]
—Actually, I planned to write the entire book in advance, because my typing speed is really, really slow… but I forgot that I happily set the release date for Children's Day [sound of a sharp popping sound]
So I do have some drafts saved up, but not many [wiping tears]
I write, I try my best to write...
I probably won't be able to pay much attention to the comments section anymore. [Kneels down slightly]
I love you all! [Shouting]
