Chapter 182 Friends: "We're already friends."
The honey water with acorn liqueur, magic powder, and salt was indeed more delicious. After happily sharing ice grass cake and ice cream, Blackfoot and Ananna teleported to the stadium and strolled around for a while.
However, the magic circles on the ground had not yet been activated, and the Tree of Life in the air had not yet grown. The flower fairies and demons who had arrived earlier, like the two of them, could only fly around curiously in the empty space, looking at everything.
The rules of the flying ball game aren't hard to understand, and they certainly sound interesting, but the Flower Fairy specially built such a large arena so that everyone could play the game better. Both the riverside elves and the demons found it incredible—
It's unbelievable that there are leaders in the world who spare no effort, time, energy, magic, and materials, just so that their people can play the game more enjoyably!
It feels like just yesterday I was living a life of uncertainty, worrying every night before I woke up. This wonderful life is something I could never have dreamed of before. I no longer have to fear disasters, worry about getting a fever, or feel anxious about magic taxes. Every day when I wake up and open my eyes, Ananna praises the Flower Goddess and the Flower Fairy in her heart.
Mother said that when the winds of the Land of Sin ceased, she would come to take them away. Although Mother went to the Kingdom of Gods and couldn't come to take them away, the Flower Goddess must have heard Mother's wish, so she sent the Flower Fairy, and the Flower Fairy truly saved them—
The Flower Fairy provided the slaves with food, work, and shelter, and also granted them freedom!
It was the Flower Fairy who led everyone to resist the disaster and drive away the monsters from the outer continent; it was also the Flower Fairy who led everyone to build a medical room and cure the fever; it was also the Flower Fairy who arranged work for everyone and reduced the share of magic tax.
This is the blessing of the Flower Goddess, and also the blessing of the Flower Fairy! Thank you, Flower Goddess, thank you, Flower Fairy!
Above, a huge canopy blocked the scorching sunlight, casting cool shadows. Underfoot, countless bell-shaped flowers bloomed, piled up like a natural carpet. In the gentle breeze, the rustling of the leaves mingled with the soft voices of people near and far, all accompanied by the rich fragrance of the flowers, floating around you. Immersed in this atmosphere, you can't help but smile.
The sweet and refreshing taste of ice cream and ice grass cake still lingered on her lips and teeth. The glass jar of grass fruit filled with honey and ice water in her hand was also emitting a slight chill. Ananna turned her head and saw Black Foot standing next to her. He was staring intently at the wind chime vine on the ground, as if trying to see through the vine to see what kind of magic circle was underneath.
Despite wearing a bright blue cloak, the slender boy with dark skin still seemed like an inconspicuous shadow. Noticing Ananna's gaze, he raised his head, revealing a pair of equally dark eyes beneath thick, curly, gray-white eyelashes that seemed to absorb light.
The demon's eyes were dark and dull, deep and unfathomable, unlike the bright and sparkling eyes of the river elves. He blinked and smiled under Ananna's smiling gaze, revealing his fine, sharp teeth.
Because Blackfoot's skin was so dark, his sharp teeth looked exceptionally white. As Ananna looked at them, she couldn't help but laugh out loud. She wondered if the Flower Fairy's magical cat also had such white teeth. They were just too cute!
Seeing Ananna laughing so happily, Blackfoot looked around blankly, unable to find what had made her laugh.
Ananna suddenly reached out and touched the fluffy, grayish-white short hair of the black-footed creature. The texture was just as nice as she had imagined. She giggled and waved her hand, "Let me see how to eat these flowers. If they're delicious, I'll cook them tonight!"
Watching the elf fly out of the stadium carrying a huge bouquet of blue flowers, Blackfoot looked around again, still unable to understand why Ananna had been smiling so happily before.
"You're exchanging spots with me for that flower fairy?" The demon, who was much taller than Blackfoot, asked, walking over with a crunching sound as he stepped over the wind chimes on the ground.
Blackfoot nodded and asked in return, "Do you regret it? You've already eaten the ice grass cake I gave you."
The demon waved his large, fan-like hand and looked around. Even with the arrival of many demons and flower fairies, the area still seemed quite spacious. His gaze fell on a few flower fairies flying in the air not far away, chatting and laughing. He raised his hand and scratched his head: "No regrets. I'm just curious. Do you want to be friends with her?"
“We’re already friends,” Blackfoot thought for a moment, then added, “I want to be her partner.”
The demon paused, then scratched his head again, making his already fluffy, curly hair even more messy. He seemed unsure what to say, since the fact that half-blood demons were infertile didn't need him to remind him. He seemed to remember something and hesitated before speaking, "But, that flower fairy, isn't she an adult yet?"
Blackfoot nodded in agreement: "Yes, Ananna is not yet an adult. Neither am I."
The demon turned his gaze back to Blackfoot, whose aura was incredibly powerful. He could sense that Ananna was not yet an adult because her magical aura was very different from that of an adult flower fairy. The magical fluctuations emitted by an immature flower fairy were lighter and less stable than those of an adult flower fairy. However, Blackfoot's aura was always very strong in his perception—this was actually a state where she was not yet an adult.
...No wonder he is one of the three lords of the Poison Fog Wasteland.
No wonder Blackfoot was so small after transforming into human form. The demon was silent for a moment, then asked sincerely, "I don't want to be partners with flower fairies, but I do want to be friends with them. Can you tell me how you did that?"
"I think we're friends now, my dear Belial!" The human boy thumped his chest. "Leave this little thing to me. It's just an ordinary practice wand. I don't know why Daniel treasures it so much. I'll bring it over tomorrow for you to see. If it's really the wand material your employer wants, I'll ask my uncle for you! Seriously, if it weren't for you and your mercenary group, I would have been bitten to death by the monster spider! I just wanted to gather a couple of low-level potions, who would have thought..."
She listened attentively as the boy poured out his grievances, recounting how arduous life at the magic academy was and how difficult the teachers were. After gently comforting him and sending him away, Xi's previously amicable smile immediately darkened.
Bluehorn, who had overheard the entire conversation from behind the bookshelf, was utterly bewildered. She stepped out, her face full of confusion: "This human still doesn't realize that the magic academy teachers want to protect him, while his cousin has been misleading him and trying to take him into the wild? Doesn't he realize that his uncle's family wants to kill him?"
Ananka, who came out with Bluehorn, was also somewhat shocked: "Huh? Is his uncle going to harm him?"
Xi couldn't help but roll her eyes.
