Chapter 39 I'm Mom, I miss you all so much!

Ya Ya Lian flew for ten days and ten nights before finally returning to her hometown.

When she gets tired, she falls to the ground to rest for a while; when she's thirsty, she goes to the stream or creek to drink water, and if she doesn't find a water source, she can drink some dew to quench her thirst; when she's hungry, she picks some berries to eat, and if she can't find berries, she breaks off a few grass leaves and gnaws on some tree bark to fill her stomach. After eating bitter wheat leaves for so many years, she can now eat anything.

When I get really sleepy, I hide in a tree hole, crawl into the grass, or bury myself in a pit and take a short nap.

Yaya Lian was very fortunate to possess the magical talent of the Little Garden Magic, which made her very good at finding her way and prevented her from getting lost on her way home. After all, so many years had passed, and she was quite worried before she set off. Fortunately, she still remembered the way after leaving the Land of Sin.

Even more fortunately, she did not encounter any alien monsters that had sneaked over from the other continent on her journey, which allowed her to find her hometown safely and smoothly, a small village where people made a living by growing dwarf lilacs.

The harvest season is approaching, and the dwarf lilac trees planted neatly in the fields are covered with clusters of pinkish-purple buds. These plump and firm buds, along with the branches and leaves, are emitting a strong, almost pungent, fragrance.

As Ya Ya Lian flew over, amidst the fragrant breeze, she felt a familiar difficulty breathing, coughed slightly, and couldn't help but laugh through her tears.

She hastily wiped her face, gripped the wicker strap of her crossbody bag tightly, and continued flying forward.

After many years, Ya Ya Lian finally saw her house again – a small, pointed-roofed stone house located on a low slope with a patch of dandelions, under the thickest branch in the northwest corner of the magic tree canopy.

Building houses with wood is actually simpler. Not only is dwarf clove wood easy to obtain, but it can also repel mosquitoes. However, the smell is too strong, especially after being baked by the sun, the fragrance becomes even stronger. The flower fairies who once lived in the wooden house were all awakened by the smell, and some unlucky ones were even knocked unconscious by it!

So even though building a stone house is more difficult, the flower fairies with extra energy will still choose to build one. Ya Ya Lian and her family worked hard for a long time to build such a stone house.

Ya Ya Lian landed on the hillside and stood in front of the door.

Although the door panel in front of her was still made of dwarf clove wood, it no longer had the magical runes she had carved on it; it was no longer the one she and her husband had originally installed together.

The door wasn't locked; it was ajar. Ya Ya Lian knocked on the door, and when she reached out to push it open, she realized her hands were trembling.

Pushing open the door and seeing the interior, Ya Ya Lian was stunned.

The little house, which I always remembered as tidy and cozy, was now empty. All the furniture and belongings were gone, leaving only a crudely made low wooden bed against the wall, with a pile of damp hay haphazardly folded on it, and the air filled with the heavy fragrance of undried clove wood.

Fortunately, the magical runes she carved in her home were still in effect; otherwise, the smell inside the house would probably have been even worse.

As if hearing the door being pushed open, a weak sound came from the haystack:

"Is that Totoko? Didn't I tell you not to come again?"

Ya Ya Lian was stunned. Was there actually a flower fairy lying in that pile of rotten hay?!

Receiving no response, the voice grew impatient and raised its volume slightly, but it still sounded very weak:

"I told you I'm fine, I'll be better in a couple of days, don't come looking for me anymore, and don't bring me fruit! I told you I'm not hungry! If you keep bringing me fruit, your mother will make you marry this blind old man!"

"Bebelo...?" Ya Ya Lian's eyes widened in surprise. "Bebelo? Is that you?"

"Isn't it Totoko..." Accompanied by the rustling of hay, a flower fairy with loose pinkish-white hair propped up her thin, leaf-like upper body from the haystack. She turned her head and looked over, revealing an extremely thin, pale face, with a pair of shriveled eyes covered by a layer of grayish-white gloom in her deeply sunken eye sockets.

She looked around in the direction of the voice and said, "I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I mistook you for someone else. I thought it was my friend knocking on the door. Your voice sounds a little unfamiliar, but I heard you call me by name. You must be the merchant who came to buy spices before?"

Beibei Luo laughed heartily, her eyes curving into beautiful crescent moons:

"As you can see, I look like this now. Our dwarf lilacs are blooming so beautifully that the magical beasts from the outer continent have already come over. I'm a member of the patrol team now, and I'm injured and blind, so I can't entertain you anymore. Fly forward a bit, and you'll see the largest stone house under the magic tree. If you go that way, you'll find the flower fairy who's in charge of guiding merchants this year."

Ya Ya Lian could no longer make a sound. She rushed over and hugged her daughter tightly.

Beibei Luo opened her eyes wide in confusion: "What's this?"

Warm tears streamed down her face in large drops. Beibei was held tightly in a hug, unable to even raise her hand to wipe away the tears falling on her cheeks. She could only ask again:

"I'm so sorry, I don't think you're a merchant. You're here to find your relatives, right? The storm was really bad, and it separated many flower fairies from their families. We have indeed rescued quite a few flower fairies here. You must have mistaken me for someone else. There are several other flower fairies with pink and white hair like me!"

She gently persuaded the flower fairy who was clinging to her, "Madam, please let go of me for a moment. I can take you there. If we hurry, we might even run into them before they go to work in the fields!"

The unfamiliar flower fairy finally released her, and Beibei Luo felt a strange sense of loss. The fairy had a warm, comforting scent that seemed vaguely familiar, yet she couldn't quite place where she had smelled it before.

The voice sounded somewhat familiar, but she was certain she had never heard it before. Could it be the other person's innate magic? As Bebelo pondered this, she groped her way out of bed.

Before she could even reach the bedside, her outstretched hand was tightly gripped. Beibei Luo felt a pang of helplessness. Just as she was about to offer another word of comfort, her hand was suddenly pulled up and placed against the other's cheek. A sound, almost choked with emotion, seemed to draw blood as it was forced out of the other's throat:

“Bebelo…I, I’m your mother…”

Mom? Didn't her mother pass away when she was very young?

Beibei Luo suddenly perked up: "It's Mommy... Mommy, are you here to take me to God's Kingdom? Is Daddy here too? Where are Grandpa and Grandma? I miss you so much!"
