Chapter 88 The Humanoid Monster is Repulsive
Shu Xin summoned her magic wand and rushed out.
However, even faster than Shu Xin was the magical cat. Shu Xin was flapping her wings and rapidly moving through the gaps in the branches and leaves of the Tree of Life when she saw a black flash past her eyes. If it weren't for the "meow" echoing in her ears, Shu Xin would have thought she was seeing things!
Shu Xin quickly cast a speed-up spell on herself, and then hurriedly caught up with the magical cat—or more accurately, the magical cat noticed that the flower fairy was catching up and deliberately slowed down.
After flying out of the canopy of the Tree of Life with Daisy, Shu Xin looked into the distance but couldn't see any signs of an attack from the alien monsters at the white city walls on the horizon. However, the extremely distinct "stench" in the air still lingered, which Shu Xin found extremely strange.
Shu Xin turned to look at the magical cat beside her. Before she could speak, Daisy gave a sweet meow.
Daisy's body grew rapidly, and with a flick of her long tail, she wrapped the flower fairy on her back. The next second, Daisy took off running.
Shu Xin was almost blown away by the oncoming gust of wind. Before she could even put on a protective shield, the soft, thick, fluffy tail wrapped around her waist and legs, securing her firmly to the magical cat's back. However, the wind was still too strong for Shu Xin to straighten up, so she leaned back and lay directly on Daisy's back, letting the soft, fluffy fur blown by the wind engulf her.
The land of sin is barren and vast; even though the magical cat moves at an extremely fast pace, it took it several minutes to reach the magical barrier at the border.
The "stench" in the air grew stronger. Shu Xin straightened up and looked at the snow-white wall in front of her, which was materialized from a high-level defensive barrier. She was quite surprised. It seemed that the monsters from the outer continent were being kept outside the barrier this time.
Shu Xin gently patted the furry tail that was still wrapped around her waist and thighs. The magical cat meowed lightly and released the flower fairy.
Shu Xin then took flight and cautiously approached the tall white city wall. However, even when she was almost touching the wall, all she could see was a blinding white expanse. No matter how hard she tried to open her eyes, she couldn't see what was happening outside through the barrier that had become the city wall.
"Daisy, you wait here," Shu Xin said after hesitating for a moment, turning to the magical cat that still maintained its enormous size. "I'll be out in a bit, so don't follow me."
The magical cat sat up and meowed obediently.
Shu Xin carefully flapped her wings one by one and slowly moved into the interior of the city wall.
The tall, white city wall vanished silently, and a gentle, invisible wave of air blew in, accompanied by an increasingly strong and pungent stench. Although she couldn't smell it, Shu Xin still felt her breath catch in her throat. She involuntarily raised her hand to cover her mouth and nose, but unfortunately, it was useless. The strong stench was almost everywhere!
However, once inside the magical barrier, the outside scene became clearly visible. But upon truly seeing the situation outside, Shu Xin felt an urge to gouge out her own eyes—
Those blocked outside the defensive barrier were indeed humanoid monsters shrouded in light gray mist. At first glance, a large group of gray figures were huddled together in the thin, misty fog. These figures were all riding horses, brandishing their weapons and poised to charge, looking very aggressive.
However, upon closer inspection, none of these large groups of "people" with arms and legs had a normal human form!
Some arms are legs, some legs are arms, some feet are heads, some heads are feet, and even the "horses" they ride on have arms that are legs and legs that are arms—yes, human arms and legs, not horses!
The guy leading the group, riding the tallest and largest "horse," had eyes all over his head and face that were rolling around. Those eyes were a pure, deep blue, like the finest gemstones. That's right, these humanoid monsters shrouded in light gray mist are indeed the human mages who attacked the Tree of Life and the River Spirits.
Although the humanoid monsters were all grotesque and repulsive, Shu Xin, after a while, still forced herself to endure the nausea and carefully examined each one. She had discovered that although the bodies of these humanoid monsters hidden in the gray mist were extremely twisted and deformed, they were also very symbolic. Their distorted and spliced body parts were like distinctive symbols!
By comparing this information with Shu Shuxin's memories of human magic, she managed to discern the true identities of this group of humanoid monsters.
The multi-eyed monster leading the group, clad in a pure white mage's robe, was likely a high-ranking white mage. The "horse" it rode had about ten human legs covered in leg armor and wearing iron boots, which was probably the human mage's former guard or protector.
The humanoid monsters following behind the multi-eyed monster were also dressed as mages, but their mage robes were all tattered, and the reasons for the tattering seemed to be different. Some were burned, some were cut open, and some were stained with large patches of black ash and dirt. Shu Xin didn't quite understand what these meant, so she could only remember them for now.
Although their robes appeared grayish-white under the gray fog, their original forms should have been white-robed white mages. The "horses" ridden by these humanoid monsters had human arms and legs, some covered with leg armor, some wearing leather boots, and some completely naked, wearing only some incomprehensible ornaments.
Shu Xin suppressed her nausea and continued observing. When she looked at the weapons of these humanoid monsters, she found them all to be bizarre and incomprehensible. The leader, the multi-eyed monster, seemed to be waving a staff, but it didn't actually have one. After looking for a long time, Shu Xin finally noticed that what it was clutching between its fingers looked like a gold coin. Among the humanoid monsters following it, some were waving withered branches, some were holding empty glass bottles, and one was swinging a ball of cloth. Shu Xin even saw a humanoid monster wielding a "weapon" that turned out to be a reproductive organ!
Shu Xin understood almost instantly that the "weapons" in the humanoid monsters' hands were actually what their original forms longed for and craved, wanting to obtain from the river spirits!
Unable to hold it in, Shu Xin started to gag.
"Meow!" The magical cat cried out angrily. The next moment, the huge black cat shadow pounced on the gray mist that enveloped the humanoid monster. It was as if lightning had split the sky, or as if hot water had been poured on ice and snow. The gray mist suddenly dissipated, and the humanoid monster disappeared like bubbles. The "stench" in the air was also swept away.
The soft, warm tail wrapped around her, and after placing the flower fairy back on its back, the magical cat meowed softly and turned to run towards the Flower Castle.
