Chapter 44 The Flower Goddess Above, A Grateful Heart, Thank You for Being There
After leaving the magic workshop, Shu Xin dispelled the shrinking spell. However, instead of returning to the Flower Castle immediately, she concealed herself and flew with Peng Peng An and the others to the wheat field where the flower fairy slaves lived.
As Peng Pengan announced the news, she carefully observed the slaves in the wheat field.
As evening fell, the flower fairy slaves finished their day's work. Some landed on the round house and flew inside to rest, while others gathered in twos and threes to chat, sing, and dance. Many others neither rested nor socialized, but simply sat on wheat leaves, swaying gently in the breeze. However, upon seeing Peng Peng An's figure, they all took flight.
Despite clearly hearing Peng Peng'an's words, the flower fairy slaves seemed not to understand what he was saying, each looking more bewildered than the last. Peng Peng'an naturally wouldn't explain; he turned and flew away, leaving only An Anka, draped in a yellow cloak, behind.
Soon, a young flower fairy slave flew towards Ananka. She had the same orange-red eyes as Ananka and chattered around Ananka, flying up and down and asking questions.
Shu Xin didn't recognize her at first. It was only after hearing her voice that she realized she was a flower fairy slave she had once saved. Because she looked extremely young, she left the deepest impression on Shu Xin. Shu Xin later asked her to pray under the Tree of Life to verify her guess.
Unexpectedly, she was Ananka's sister. Hearing Ananka call her Ananna, Shu Xin looked at the cheerful and lively Ananna and couldn't help but smile. Ananna looked great now, and she had grown up a lot compared to before. Her orange-red eyes were bright and vivid.
Ananna asked in a series of curious questions:
"Brother, brother, what did the nobleman say about talent? Is it magical talent? Do we slaves have magical talent too? Brother, you have magical talent, right? Are you going to work for the Flower Fairy? You must work hard for the Flower Fairy! By the way, brother, is that a dress you're wearing? Where did you get this dress? This dress is so beautiful, can I touch it?"
Before Ananka could answer her sister's barrage of questions, the other flower fairy slaves swarmed over, equally curious:
"Slaves don't have any magical talent. Ananka, you're the last one to go to the magic workshop today, right? Could it be that you've already succeeded in refining it?"
"It must have been successfully refined! Look at his cloak! By the Goddess of Flora, I've only ever seen such a beautiful cloak on noblemen!"
"By the Goddess of Flowers, do we slaves truly possess magical talent? Yet we all failed in our refinement!"
"Maybe we have other magical talents! Didn't the noble lord say that we should use our talents to work for the Flower Fairy? But slaves turning back into commoners... By the Flower Goddess, did I really hear that right?!"
Shu Xin flew away in a very good mood.
As the distance increased, the already faint murmurs of the flower fairy slaves grew even fainter, but Shu Xin knew very well that the seed of fire had been sown, and that it would surely ignite an incomparably blazing flame in the future.
She couldn't possibly stand up to the king on her own. Even the patrol that came before her had been difficult to defeat. Now, the flower fairies in the Land of Sin were getting weaker and weaker. But Shu Xin had figured out a way to really strengthen the flower fairies.
The strength of the flower fairies is closely related to their size. When all the flower fairies in the Land of Sin have the size of the patrolmen and each has a high-level magic wand, when the patrolmen come to their door, she will no longer need to hide herself!
If the flower fairies could eventually have the size of the flower fairy, they probably wouldn't have to worry about their lives even if the king came knocking on their door!
After indulging in her daydreams, Shu Xin pulled her wandering thoughts back to reality and flew towards the civilian residential area.
The flower fairies and commoners have moved into exquisite triangular straw houses and no longer have to sleep in the wheat fields. When Shu Xin went there, she heard many flower fairies discussing the information that Peng Peng An had previously announced to the slaves.
Shu Xin listened carefully and was surprised to find that the vast majority of the flower fairies and commoners believed that "the Flower Fairy is the agent of the Flower Goddess, this is definitely a miracle." The remaining minority believed that "what merit do those slaves have to receive a miracle?" It seemed that the commoners believed Shu Xin even more than the slaves. They almost unanimously believed that "the Flower Fairy said that the slaves have magical talent, so the slaves must have magical talent."
Shu Xin: ...By the Goddess of Flowers, I am grateful and thankful for you.
On the way back, Shu Xin was surprised to see that tender green buds had sprouted at the base of the walls of several thatched houses.
She leaned closer to examine it carefully and discovered that although the sprouts were distributed in different places, they actually all grew from the same kind of grass weaving. It was just that the triangular grass weaving was used in different positions, so the green sprouts grew from different places.
Perhaps because the land had become more fertile under the influence of the superimposed magic, one or two blades of grass that were still alive had been revitalized in the part of the grass weave that had taken root in the soil to serve as the wall.
I don't know what kind of grass this is, but its vitality is so strong!
Shu Xin cherished this plant that could survive in the land of sin. Worried that the few tender shoots would be cleared away by the flower fairy living in the triangular house, Shu Xin originally wanted to transplant them all to the Sun Spring. But when she was about to do so, she remembered the old saying, "A tree dies when it is moved, but a person lives." In the end, she only moved half of the shoots, and carefully cast a concealment spell on the other half to hide them from the flower fairy's sight.
After flying back to the Flower Castle, Shu Xin remembered something. She went up to the top terrace and skillfully cast a detection spell.
Amidst the fluctuations of magic, the detection spell extended into the distance. Gazing at the scene within the detection field of vision, Shu Xin was overjoyed—
The thick, almost ubiquitous black fog that I remembered had mostly dissipated at some point. The gentle yet firm afterglow of the setting sun pierced through the fog, and together with the soft light emanating from the Tree of Life, it made the already thinner black fog appear even more faint.
If the initial black fog felt like a pitch-black night, then the current dim and thin black fog is like the dawn when the sun is about to rise!
The tiny black dots that used to emit billowing black smoke have all disappeared, replaced by tiny, shimmering points of light. These points of light are like distant and ethereal stars in the night sky, and when they gather together, they are enough to emit a bright brilliance like a galaxy.
Shu Xin looked towards the twinkling starry river, which was none other than the location of the commoner community of the flower fairies!
