Chapter 29 The doctor sent another message about Lin Ying's condition...

The doctor sent another update on Lin Ying's condition: the tumor had moved downwards and would soon reach the predicted location; all that was needed was a suitable time.

While waiting for news, Ji Qingyu continued his work. He was curled up on the sofa working on the final draft of the stage play when the door clicked open, and he saw Fu Yunbai once again.

Ji Qingyu was still wearing his fleece pajamas. He hurriedly put down his computer, not even having time to close the page, and asked, "Uncle Fu, what brings you here?"

Fu Yunbo came even more aggressively this time. Ji Qingyu didn't know what had happened, but Fu Yunbo made no attempt to hide his disgust for her as soon as he entered the room.

He seemed to have just glanced at some random cat or dog, his face expressionless, still standing there with a distant and aloof demeanor.

Ji Qingyu felt a tightness in her chest. She led Fu Yunbai to his seat, this time pouring him a cup of water instead of tea, and gently pushed it towards him.

Fu Yunbo remained motionless. After a while, he spoke in a deep voice: "Back then, was it you who tricked Fu Han into bed?"

Ji Qingyu froze, as if he had been hit in the spine with a dull thud. His back was covered in a layer of cold, damp sweat, and his fingers unconsciously scratched at the sofa, but he couldn't grasp anything.

How did Fu Yunbo suddenly find out about this?

Ji Qingyu was completely baffled. Fu Yunbai's gaze swept over Ji Qingyu's face, full of scrutiny: "You don't need to think about it anymore. Ji Ran told me."

It's Ji Ran again; he always likes to use these low-class methods.

Fu Yunbo sat on the sofa, his brows furrowed, and habitually issued a command: "Where is Fu Hanren?"

"I don't know, they went out."

Fu Yunbo didn't say anything more, but frowned again when he saw Ji Qingyu's lit computer screen: "You're still doing meaningless things, like stage plays. What's the use of these? Do they bring any real benefits? How many times have you lost face? How many times have your family affairs been brought up in public? You're always doing these things without considering whether you can meet in person."

"Back then, do you know how much damage you caused us? Fu Yunsheng took advantage of the situation, and for a whole month, the headlines were all about Fu Han's absence from the funeral."

Ji Qingyu blinked and lowered her head without saying a word.

“Do you know how crucial your move was? Fu Han’s office light was never off for months.” Fu Yunbai looked at Ji Qingyu with disgust in his eyes.

"Is that so?" Perhaps because he was too tired and had been too busy lately, and he didn't have a good impression of the person in front of him, "Then you should tell Fu Han to open his eyes, otherwise how could he fall for me a second time?"

Fu Yunbai probably didn't expect that Ji Qingyu, who always seemed to have no temper, would speak to him like that. He raised his hand and slapped Ji Qingyu across the face. Ji Qingyu covered her face, and Aunt Wang screamed. She hurriedly took ice cubes from the refrigerator, wrapped them in a wet towel, and handed them to Ji Qingyu.

"Even you, a mere servant, are protecting him like this?"

Ji Qingyu had never imagined that Fu Yunbo could lose control of his emotions, let alone do those things to Luo Sheng, but now she had witnessed it firsthand.

“I’m not going to waste my breath on you. I’m here today to advise you to break up with Fu Han. You need to know that you’re worthless now.” Fu Yunbai laughed. “The Fu family doesn’t need a troublemaker who has no feelings. I think Fu Han feels the same way.”

The plain water in the cup swayed slightly. Ji Qingyu felt his stomach burning with acid. He looked away and saw a row of wild grass drooping listlessly under the eaves outside the window, just like he had been years ago.

Ji Qingyu had gone to see Fu Han before, when he had already discovered he was pregnant. Before leaving home, he recklessly sprayed half a bottle of perfume on himself, put a patch on his neck, and wrapped himself tightly in a scarf.

He searched everywhere he could think of but couldn't find Fu Han. Now he could only wait downstairs at Fu Han's company, hoping to try his luck and see him.

But luck never seemed to be on Ji Qingyu's side.

The weather had already turned cold. He leaned against the glass wall and bought the cheapest hot coffee. He took a few sips, but it was bitter and astringent, and had no effect whatsoever. He felt a chill seeping into his very bones.

He was wearing a corduroy fleece coat today, which was so cold that the wind blew right through it, making his knuckles turn red. He waited for a long time, and many people came and went, but he was like a shadow hiding in the corner.

"Have you heard? Fu Han has recently won back his clients. If you ask me, they'd rather follow Fu Yunbai and Fu Han. They should think carefully about which side they're on, or they might end up not even knowing how they died." An employee wearing a name tag came downstairs. Someone curiously glanced at Ji Qingyu, and Ji Qingyu shrank her face into her scarf and sat further away.

The pedestrians were coming and going, all leaving the company. Ji Qingyu was afraid of missing Fu Han, so she waited in the shadows at the corner, glancing at the door every few dozen seconds. As a result, she almost bumped into someone face to face when she turned around.

The sudden appearance of a beautiful woman at the corner almost made Ji Qingyu fall. The woman was waving a platinum bag in her hand. She screamed and was caught by the hand behind her.

Alpha raised an eyebrow, then frowned when he saw Ji Qingyu clearly. His tone was ruthless, contemptuous, and nasty: "Who let you come here?"

He still looked as arrogant as ever, wearing a well-tailored suit adorned with an exquisitely crafted and expensive brooch. His hair was meticulously styled with hair gel, he wore a mouth guard, and there was a faint, barely perceptible dark circle under his eyes.

"I'm sorry." Ji Qingyu felt he hadn't done anything wrong, but he still took a few steps back and apologized softly.

The omega next to Fu Han had smooth, light chestnut-colored hair, exquisite makeup, and wore a satin dress and rhinestone peep-toe shoes.

The woman frowned and glanced at Ji Qingyu, ignoring his apology. Instead, she covered her nose and said to Fu Han indifferently, "Is she someone you know? Her perfume is too strong, it's making me dizzy."

After saying that, Omega didn't intend to linger and left, brushing past Ji Qingyu's shoulder.

Only Fu Han and Ji Qingyu remained. Fu Han glanced at Ji Qingyu indifferently and turned to leave.

Ji Qingyu reached out and grabbed him, clutching his clothes tightly. He had never done anything so shameless before, and a sharp, embarrassing emotion gripped his throat: "Fu Han, wait a moment, just let me say a few words."

The woman was already waiting beside the sports car not far away. Fu Han had little patience and was completely unwilling to pay any attention to Ji Qingyu.

Ji Qingyu gripped Fu Han's clothes tightly, his arms wrapped around his, as if clinging to a piece of driftwood in a vast ocean, his only lifeline.

Fu Han lowered his gaze to look at him. Ji Qingyu had crumpled his clothes. He commanded, "Let go. I have nothing to say to you."

“Fu Han, you have to give me a chance to explain,” Ji Qingyu said. “Just give me a few minutes, just a few minutes.”

Fu Han looked at Ji Qingyu, hesitant to speak. Ji Qingyu felt there was something else in his gaze. In the end, Fu Han looked away and said, "We have nothing to say."

"You, just give me five minutes, I promise, I won't bother you anymore, I promise." Ji Qingyu's eyes reddened, he was completely lost, and he could only talk to the other person involved about the pregnancy.

Fu Han glanced down at his watch and said reluctantly, "I'll give you three minutes."

“Okay, okay,” Ji Qingyu’s eyes were red, “It’s not what I want to do.”

“You sent the message, you were the only one in the room, I checked the security footage, you went in on your own, no one forced you, and besides, you're the Ji family's illegitimate son, right? Ji Ran was helping you too.” Fu Han frowned. “Is there anything else to say?”

“I, I…” Ji Qingyu opened her mouth, “You said that day that you had something to tell me when you went back to school, but actually I also have something to tell you.”

"Fu Han, I...I like you!" Ji Qingyu used all his strength to say these words, it was very difficult, and after saying them he felt like he was probably going crazy.

Alpha's eyes were sharp, his features as if carved by a knife. He stared at Ji Qingyu in disbelief upon hearing this. He suddenly grabbed Ji Qingyu's chin, his voice filled with shocking hatred: "You still dare to say these things? Do you think it's fun to play with me? Ji Qingyu, you should thank me for my mercy for still being able to stand here properly."

Two marks were left on Ji Qingyu's chin from Fu Han's grip, and tears streamed down his face. "Fu Han, let me go, I..."

I am pregnant.

I can't afford to raise my child right now. Could you give me some money? I promise I'll pay you back later. I'm desperate. I have to work several jobs and can't sing anymore. My songs have been taken. I'm at my wit's end. Please help me.

The phone rang. Fu Han glanced down at it, frowned, but his back remained straight, making him appear aloof and without any weaknesses. "People need to learn to take responsibility for their own actions. If you do something, you have to accept it and accept the punishment. It's your own fault."

"I don't have time to waste here with you. Just continue living like this for the rest of your life." Those words, spoken with such force, made Ji Qingyu feel even colder.

A chill ran through his bones, and he didn't know how he could force himself to probe further: "Fu Han... if, if I told you I'm pregnant, what would you do?"

"Then get rid of it." Fu Han smiled, staring at Ji Qingyu without a trace of affection in his eyes. "You don't even have a mark, so what kind of pregnancy is this? Besides, even if you are pregnant, it won't be mine. Who knows how many lovers you have outside? You're attracted to all sorts of people."

"Let go, your perfume smells strongly of alcohol." Fu Han's smile was tinged with contempt. He tossed the expensive-looking brooch from his chest into Ji Qingyu's hand. "Go buy a nice cup of coffee. After you finish it, leave completely. Stay far away from me and from the Fu family. Do you understand?"

Ji Qingyu felt a tingling sensation in his heart. He thought he had already been slowly tortured to death by Fu Han. Before he could react, Fu Han had already walked away.

He still seemed distant and unattainable, like the aloof moon in the sky, refusing to lower its head to look upon him no matter what. He was still a weed by the roadside, trampled underfoot without being noticed, and now probably covered in mud.

Ji Qingyu recalled the alpha she encountered on her first day back at school, who had been relentlessly harassed and humiliated without her feeling anything. But why did Fu Han make her feel as if her heart was being torn apart?

Fu Yunbai's voice pulled him back to reality: "Why are you back?"

Ji Qingyu looked up at Fu Han, whose chest was still heaving and he was panting. He stopped and frowned as he looked over, his face looking extremely pale.

His gaze swept over Ji Qingyu, then turned coldly to Fu Yunbai.

Ji Qingyu suddenly felt exhausted. He didn't care what they were arguing about anymore. He stood up and avoided the two cold-hearted father and son, the aloof top alphas.

Fu Han frowned and reached out to pull him, "What's wrong with you?"

"It's nothing." Ji Qingyu stopped in his tracks. The scar still ran across his neck, his face was pale, and his expression was calm and indifferent. His light brown hair fell over his shoulders and was casually tied into a ponytail. He closed his eyes and spoke slowly and peacefully, "I'm just too tired."
