Chapter 47 The location for the victory celebration banquet has been decided...

The celebration banquet was to be held in the orchard that Ma Yu had recently leased.

The tree is full of persimmons.

Ji Qingyu reached out to pick it, but always fell just short. In the end, Fu Han picked the persimmon and put it in his hand. Ji Qingyu stuffed the persimmon back into Fu Han's hand, ignoring Fu Han's somewhat stiff smile.

Fu Han couldn't fit in, so he could only silently pick persimmons by himself on the side, without Ji Qingyu even looking at him. He could only watch Ji Qingyu's back as she was surrounded by the crowd.

Fu Han's gaze fell on Ji Qingyu. In fact, he was just like that in high school, but he withered away quickly afterward, and Fu Han was an accomplice in that.

Fu Han looked down at the plea call from Ji Deyong on his phone. He wanted to ruin the Ji family, not just Ji Ran, but all of them, to make them taste what Ji Qingyu had gone through back then.

His hand holding the phone trembled slightly. He thought to himself, "But what about me? Why should I be the exception, the one who gets a pardon?"

That evening, the crew picked more than ten kilograms of persimmons to prepare a persimmon feast.

Fu Han volunteered to cook, but Ma Yu looked at him with a skeptical expression: "You? Can you cook? A young master who has never lifted a finger in the kitchen."

The two of them were far from the crowd and even further from Ji Qingyu because they were carrying persimmons. Fu Han coldly sneered, "Don't eat it, it's unimportant."

"What the hell?" Ma Yu was stunned by the retort, but Fu Han had already taken a step forward and rushed to Ji Qingyu's side.

Ma Yu chased after him, enraged, and yelled at Fu Han, "Who are you calling irrelevant? The orchard is my orchard, the land is my land, what are you pretending to be, an outsider? You..."

He talked for a long time, but didn't hear a single response from Fu Han. He then looked up and found Fu Han standing next to Ji Qingyu, holding a small bamboo basket of persimmons, looking at Ji Qingyu with his eyes slightly lowered and without saying a word.

Ji Qingyu gave Ma Yu a subtle look: "Alright, Brother Ma, let's call it a day. He's been busy all day and has to cook. He didn't do anything to us today, so don't say that."

Several crew members, unaware of the situation, probably trying to curry favor with the investors, chimed in, "Yeah, yeah, calm down."

"Keep pressing me like this, it's a bit too aggressive."

“I’m being aggressive, no, didn’t you see what this person just did…” Ma Yu pointed at Fu Han, looking very aggrieved.

"I think I accidentally scratched myself," Fu Han suddenly said to Ji Qingyu. He pulled up his sweatshirt, revealing a thin cut on his well-defined forearm, from which blood was seeping out. "But it's nothing serious. It's just that when I was with your little brother Ma today, he insisted that I pick the persimmons from the high place..."

"What do you mean 'my Little Ma'?" Ji Qingyu was speechless. The wound looked quite deep. He hurriedly ran to find gauze. Only then did Fu Han give Ma Yu a provocative smile.

"You motherfucker..." Ma Yu wanted to rush forward again, but was held back by the two people beside him. Ji Qingyu returned. He couldn't find gauze, but he found iodine and cotton swabs. He wiped Fu Han little by little.

Every time he wiped it, Fu Han's arm would twitch slightly.

After a few moments, Ji Qingyu paused, looked up at him with some confusion, and asked, "Does it hurt that much?"

This guy used to fight all the time in high school, taking on more than a dozen people single-handedly without even blinking. He wouldn't even bother bandaging this little injury back then.

"A little." Fu Han remained expressionless, his gaze quietly fixed on Ji Qingyu. When he looked at someone like that, he was so focused and beautiful that Ji Qingyu was stunned for a few seconds. Fu Han took the opportunity to lean down and slowly get closer.

His voice carried a hint of flirtatious teasing: "Give me a kiss, and I won't feel any pain anymore."

Here we go again.

Ji Qingyu pursed her lips, lowered her gaze, shoved the cotton swabs and iodine into Fu Han's arms, turned and left without a word, leaving behind a parting remark:

"Go cook after you've finished applying the dressing. Everyone's waiting for you. You only injured your left arm, so it shouldn't delay your cooking, right?"

Ma Yu let out a mischievous laugh. Seeing that Ji Qingyu had really left, leaving him only with a cold back view, Fu Han quickly applied the iodine and went to cook as if nothing had happened.

During the meal, Ma Yu still wanted to see Fu Han make a fool of himself.

He thought that if Fu Han served up some random, incomprehensible dish, he would have a reason to make a scene. He had all his words ready and was just waiting for Fu Han's dishes to be served. But when one dish was served, everyone let out a small "wow".

One dish after another, each one louder than the last.

Ma Yu stared at the beautifully colored and exquisitely presented dishes with a dark expression, completely at a loss. He picked up his chopsticks again, trying to take a bite, but after eating it, he fell silent. Undeterred, he took another bite.

Fu Han let out a cold laugh at the opportune moment.

Ma Yu blushed deeply and jumped up to glare at Fu Han, but Fu Han didn't pay any attention to him at all. His gaze was fixed on Ji Qingyu, who was whispering something to Fu Han. Feeling embarrassed, he gritted his teeth and sat back down.

Ma Yu watched as the two people drew closer and closer. Fu Han tilted his head and listened quietly to Ji Qingyu's words, even having the leisure to serve Ji Qingyu food. Ji Qingyu's plate was never empty.

Everyone was exhausted after a long day, so they picked up their plates and began to eat heartily. As the saying goes, "He who eats another's food is bound to him," and some people at the table started saying flattering things to Fu Han. Ma Yu found this distasteful and lowered her head to eat the entire plate of stir-fried persimmons with pork.

When they parted ways that evening, Yu Yue and Ma Yu pulled Ji Qingyu to leave. They had only taken a couple of steps when Fu Han lowered his head and hissed softly, sounding as if he were very uncomfortable.

"What's wrong with you now? What's wrong with you now? Are you never going to stop with this trick?" Ma Yu was furious. He admitted that Fu Han's cooking was indeed delicious, but so what? This kind of behavior was disgusting and made him want to vomit!

Fu Han remained silent, standing still. Ma Yu really wanted to go up and fight him. Ji Qingyu hesitated for a moment, but still asked, "Are you alright?"

"It's nothing," Fu Han said after a pause.

“Of course he’s fine, what could possibly be wrong with him? He’s just pretending!” Ma Yu was about to say something when Ji Qingyu tried to smooth things over by nudging Ma Yu’s back. He had originally intended to ignore Fu Han and walk away with Ma Yu and Yu Yue, but Fu Han grabbed Ji Qingyu’s wrist and whispered, “It does seem a little uncomfortable…”

Ji Qingyu paused, but ultimately decided to send Fu Han back first.

As Ji Qingyu sat in the car, he looked out the window as usual. The next second, he felt something furry leaning against his shoulder.

Such a tall man, his shoulders could barely support him, so he reached out to push him away, and casually stroked Fu Han's hair a couple of times. Then he heard Fu Han whisper in his ear, "You really never hated me?"

"What?" Ji Qingyu didn't react for a moment.

“I yelled at you back then and said some really bad things to you, and I never went to see you... I’ve been having nightmares lately, dreaming that you’re all alone during your heat. I… I’m afraid you hate me.” Fu Han’s voice trailed off as he tried to hug Ji Qingyu. Ji Qingyu listened, but just smiled.

"It's alright. I was a little sad at first, but then I was busy making money and didn't have time to think about these things." Ji Qingyu said, then pushed Fu Han again, "Can you stop doing this? What's wrong with you? You seem fine. Let go of me, okay?"

"I'm afraid you won't want me anymore, please don't leave me." Fu Han showed no sign of letting go. "In Beijing, my mother told me why you were with me, and I panicked. I was so scared, I really... I searched for you like a madman. If it weren't for that idiot Ma Yu not changing her license plate, I don't know how much longer I would have gone..."

He opened the car window a little, letting the night wind blow in. Ji Qingyu sighed; he was almost at a loss.

If Fu Han threatened him with harsh words, he might be able to deal with it calmly, after all, he has always lived like this and he is used to it.

But he really couldn't handle it when someone as arrogant and haughty as Fu Han bowed his head and made a request.

"Brother, please let me make it up to you. Please let me do something for you."

Ji Qingyu paused, his eyes widening slightly. He thought to himself, "Actually, I've already worked hard enough. After working so hard for so long, I've just started to taste the sweetness after the bitterness, and I can't help but repeatedly doubt whether it's just my imagination again."

“But you said before that you wouldn’t let me have your child,” Ji Qingyu said slowly.

"If you don't give birth to my children, who will?"

"But you told me not to go home anymore."

"That was just said in anger. I won't say it again. If it happens again, just kick me out."

"Were you lying to me when you said all this?" Ji Qingyu stared at the vast, empty night sky. The driver had gotten out of the car to smoke when Fu Han hugged Ji Qingyu, leaving only the two of them in the car. The cramped, quiet environment was suffocating, making it hard to breathe.

"Will you still say harsh words to me? Will you still yell at me? Will you revert to your old ways? Will you still bite me at the drop of a hat? Do you know how sharp your teeth are? Biting anywhere except the glands really hurts." Ji Qingyu's voice was soft. He hadn't cried in a long time, but today he couldn't hold back. "I hate you. I clearly explained it back then, but you told me to leave. You abandoned me, Fu Han. I really..."

It's really embarrassing. He thought he was so magnanimous and could let go of things so easily. In reality, he didn't care at all. He just knew that some people would care about his tears, while others wouldn't.

So he kept his heart hidden for six years before daring to peek out even a corner of it.

He said he felt wronged.

"I won't do it again. From now on, I'll only bite the glands." Fu Han's voice became even more ingratiating and cautious.

"Fu Han, why haven't you marked me?" Ji Qingyu asked again. "I thought it was because you hated me so much that you wouldn't even mark me, but is that really not the case?"

Am I still worthy of being loved?

His voice trembled slightly, but he suddenly realized that Fu Han's voice was trembling even more than his, and the hand gripping his back was tight and he wouldn't let go.

“I’m afraid, afraid that you’ll end up like your mother, wanting to leave but never being able to. So I’m waiting, waiting for you to be truly willing.”

Ji Qingyu smiled, then sighed softly and said, "Then you'll have to wait a little longer."
