☆, Chapter 45: Ashes to Ashes, Dust to Dust

Rong Qing caught Yu Jiuyin as she lunged at him, but he remained silent. He hesitated for a moment as to the purpose of Yu Jiuyin's words, but to his surprise, the evil spirit's movements were far faster than his own.

There was no way around it. This evil spirit had been eyeing Yu Jiuyin for a long time. He'd been coveting her almost since she'd entered the hot springs hotel. After all, the wound on Yu Jiuyin's wrist hadn't healed yet, and the blood energy emanating from it was the perfect bait.

However, the evil ghost miscalculated one thing. Yu Jiuyin was not a weak and defenseless girl, and there was someone in the room who could make him kneel down and call her daddy with just a stretch of his hand.

Therefore, at the moment when the evil spirit rushed in, Rongqing suddenly reached out and grabbed his neck, and slammed him against the door, almost breaking him to pieces.

The evil spirit was completely stunned, staring at Rong Qing with his head twisted, unable to recover for a long time. But then, the even more powerful ghost energy erupted from Rong Qing, making him tremble all over.

Why the hell is such a cute girl actually such an unfathomable big boss? The evil ghost wanted to cry but had no tears, so he lay on the ground and tried to play dead.

But Yu Jiuyin didn't intend to let him go. He stood up from Rongqing's body and walked directly to the side of the evil spirit, holding three copper coins in his hand.

"Tsk, quite strong." Yu Jiuyin smiled gently, but the dangerous aura emitted by the copper coins in his hand always reminded the evil spirit that Yu Jiuyin might be more dangerous than Rongqing to some extent.

"So it's the big guys gathering together? The evil ghost couldn't help but step back.

Yu Jiuyin squatted down and rubbed his dog head. "Little friend, your peeping time is over. Now it's my turn to talk to you. Tell me how you got here."

As the distance between them approached, the evil spirit finally realized that Yu Jiuyin was just a man disguised as a cute girl. Taking another look at Yu Jiuyin's charming face, the evil spirit felt completely screwed.

But a ghost has to bow his head under the eaves, so he finally reluctantly told Yu Jiuyin the whole story of why he came here.

He was actually attracted by the feng shui of this house so he wanted to come here to hunt for some food. Unfortunately, he was very hungry in the first half of the night, and in the second half of the night he met two big guys, Yu Jiuyin and Rong Qing.

God knows why someone pretends to be weak when he is so strong. He is even worse than a ghost. The evil ghost said this and looked at Yu Jiuyin with grief and anger.

However, Yu Jiuyin ignored his meaning, and went to the house where the evil ghost lived next door with Rongqing to take a look, and then they frowned at the same time.

The Six Souls Curse is one of the ten forbidden techniques of Maoshan magic. Maoshan magic has always been about liberating spirits and resolving grievances, but the Six Souls Curse is the opposite: a forbidden technique that traps evil spirits. However, unlike the Ghost Dao Celestial Master's method of feeding ghosts for their own use, the Six Souls Curse gradually wears down the spirit's mind, transforming it into a vengeful spirit intent on killing.

"It seems that this is how the vengeful spirits in those puppets came from."

Rong Qing nodded, "No wonder the feng shui here is so strange, it turns out that this is his plan."

But Yu Jiuyin's brow furrowed even more. He had originally thought that this evil spirit was the murderous Freddy from the nursery rhyme, but he didn't expect it to be just a passerby.

Oh no! Yu Jiuyin subconsciously felt something was wrong. Then, the sounds coming from the yard confirmed his thoughts: a series of children's screams and laughter.

The innocent voices were eerie and terrifying. Listening further, I realized they were singing a nursery rhyme.

"1, 2 Freddy will come to you. 3, 4 Lock your door. 5, 6 Cover your face. 7, 8 Your breathing will stop. 9, 10 You will never sleep again."

Yu Jiuyin took out the spirit-calling bell and found that, just like before at the magnesia factory, there was no ghostly aura. Rongqing saw this and casually took off his wig and sat in the wheelchair.

"Let's go to the yard and take a look."

"Yeah." Yu Jiuyin agreed and pushed Rongqing out.

The two walked into the yard and looked around. Sure enough, there was a group of children playing and having fun in the hot spring not far from them.

When they heard Yu Jiuyin's voice, they all turned around at the same time, and a sinister and strange smile appeared on each of their faces.

"Don't go near the water." Yu Jiuyin suddenly remembered Qin Ying's warning. He turned the direction in his hand and walked into the house with grace. But the moment they entered the house, the atmosphere in the whole house suddenly changed.

The evil spirit disappeared without a trace at some point, and from behind the trapdoor, behind the window, under the floor, and even in the drawers of the house, there were different rustling sounds coming from inside. It was as if something was hiding underneath, scratching desperately with its nails, trying to get out.

"Bang!" The mirror on the trapdoor shattered. Yu Jiuyin and Rongqing turned around and looked, their eyes widening involuntarily.

They were puppets. Countless puppets, their expressions vacant, walked towards Yu Jiuyin and Rongqing. They moved slowly, but each perfectly symmetrical face wore a sinister and eerie smile, and in their hands, hanging at their sides, they clutched chilling blades.

As for Yu Jiuyin and Rongqing, the children playing in the hot springs were also gathering behind them. Compared to the puppets in front, these children were obviously more agile. They lined up and sang nursery rhymes non-stop, each sentence a deadly death warrant.

Yu Jiuyin finally understood why every Celestial Master had been caught. This wasn't a case of ghosts haunting the place, but a pure show of force. The combination of puppets armed with blades and Celestial Masters who only wielded Daoist magic, coupled with such a disparity in numbers, meant that no matter how you looked at it, those Celestial Masters had no choice but to surrender.

"Rongrong, do you think we will die here?" Yu Jiuyin suddenly laughed. He turned to look at Rongqing, with a special look in his eyes.

Rong Qing looked at Yu Jiuyin deeply, then reached out and crushed the puppet closest to him. He then handed the knife in the puppet's hand to Yu Jiuyin.

"Oh, why are you so violent?" Yu Jiuyin laughed even more happily, and then sighed and said, "I just like your violence."

Then he turned the blade in his hand, and another puppet was shattered into pieces.

Yu Jiuyin's master was skilled in traditional Chinese martial arts, so he learned some from them. While not invincible, dealing with puppets wasn't difficult. As for Rongqing, the natural killer's abilities were far more complex than they appeared. In situations of nonviolent non-cooperation, Rongqing could still find a way to deal with them.

However, puppets are something you can't completely kill. Yu Jiuyin and Rongqing were forced back step by step, and finally stood back to back in the corner.

With a creaky sound, the wooden door of the room opened, and a man in a kimono walked in. He looked at Yu Jiuyin and Rongqing with almost greedy eyes.

"Looks like the real boss is here." Yu Jiuyin winked at Rongqing. Rongqing said nothing, but his expression turned completely cold.

"You are so beautiful. I like you. You will be my most perfect collection." The man stood behind the many dolls, looking at Yu Jiuyin and Rongqing nervously.

"What do you mean"

"Literally. Don't worry. Beauty always has privileges. I'm willing to show you my secret." The main messenger's smile grew even more eerie. He pulled out an exquisite chessboard from his bosom. The black and white squares glared brightly in the night. Even more chilling, however, were the chess pieces in his hands. Each one was crafted from human bones, and even the faces appeared lifelike.

There are thirty-two chess pieces in total. Thirty of them are now on the board. The black king and queen look incredibly familiar; they resemble Qin Ying and Luo Qiu. Rongqing's expression suddenly changed, and his hand, hanging by his side, tightened.

The main emissary, however, seemed afraid of failing to provoke Rongqing. He caressed Luo Qiu and Qin Ying's faces, his tone growing increasingly excited. "Do they look familiar? They're both incredibly powerful Heavenly Masters. Luo Qiu, in particular, I toyed with him for three days and four nights before he died. He almost managed to escape with his magic along the way. He's the one who survived the longest under my control, so he's the king."

"But don't feel bad. Did you see those last two squares? The White King and Queen are reserved for you. You will be the most perfect beings on my chessboard."

It can be said that it is arrogant to the extreme.

Yu Jiuyin held Rongqing's hand, blocking him behind him, and quietly looked up at the mastermind behind the scenes with a contemptuous smile.

"What kind of perfect existence is this? Perfection isn't the script in your hand. It's a shame you're so stupid. You have a mountain of treasure in your hands, but you still do something stupid that puts the cart before the horse."

"What nonsense are you talking about?"

"That's nonsense! You said you seduced this evil spirit and planned to use a magic formation to forcibly erase his consciousness and put him into a puppet to become a controllable evil spirit as the executioner in the final game. Unfortunately, time was too short. You didn't expect Rongrong and I to arrive so soon, and you didn't expect your identity to be discovered. So you had no choice but to go into battle yourself. After all, you are a half-baked person and can't create a new Freddy."

"It turns out that I'm the one who likes you. I like your innocence."

"Innocent" Yu Jiuyin never wastes time talking to others. Now that the main messenger has appeared, all he has to do is catch him.

Several pieces of talisman paper flew out from his hand, and each one landed in a special corner just right.

Who could have imagined that Yu Jiuyin had already set up the formation the moment he entered the room? The main messenger imagined that Yu Jiuyin and Rongqing had walked into the trap, but he didn't realize that he was the one who was lured into it.

The Abandoned Infant Formation. One of the ten forbidden techniques of metaphysics, it's specifically designed to combat vengeful spirits. Its only drawback is that it violates the laws of nature. Therefore, any spirit that passes through the Abandoned Infant Formation will never be reborn. This person had used the souls of evil spirits to refine evil spirits, and Yu Jiuyin made him suffer the consequences.

This time, Yu Jiuyin didn't use his own blood, but instead cast a blank soul-soothing talisman. Suddenly, all the puppets in the room were unable to move. They twisted their bodies and howled continuously, and finally, to escape the physical discomfort, they rushed directly towards the blank soul-soothing talisman.

"What are you going to do?" The man panicked. But Yu Jiuyin would not explain to him.

Yu Jiuyin took the soul-calming talisman and then threw it back.

"Whoever commits evil must taste the bitter taste of his own faults." The Abandoned Infant Formation is a formation used specifically to refine evil spirits, and the Soul-Calming Talisman is a special spell used by the Ghost Daoist Heavenly Master to gather evil spirits.

Therefore, when these resentful spirits entered the soul-soothing talisman, even without Yu Jiuyin's blood, Yu Jiuyin could control these resentful spirits for his own use in a short period of time.

Countless vengeful spirits swarmed towards the main messenger. The temperature in the room dropped to zero. The smell of blood spread from all directions, and even the originally dry floor became wet.

The master tried to control it, but to no avail. The moment Yu Jiuyin's Abandoned Infant Formation took effect, all his preparations were undone. He subconsciously flipped through the notebook in his hand. But there was nothing. The plan was still flawless, but there was no single rule that told him how to handle the unexpected situation.

But how could Yu Jiuyin let him go?

Luo Qiu's death left Rong Qing with a lifelong regret, and Qin Ying's tragic end left Old Master Qin heartbroken. And then there were those photos that were released.

Thirty lives, each one is a sin that this master should pay for.

"One, two, Freddy will come back for you. Three, four, lock your door. Five, six, cover your face. Seven, eight, your breathing will stop. Nine, ten, you will never sleep again."

The innocent laughter of the children made the nursery rhyme become eerie and mysterious, and the master finally understood the fear experienced by those he had brutally killed.

He noticed the scene around him slowly changing. He lay in a dark room, the sheets beneath him and the quilt covering him gleaming white. It was clearly summer, but he felt no warmth at all; his entire body was chilled. Worst of all, he felt like someone was watching him from inside the room.

There was a pair of eyes watching him in secret, waiting for him to fall into a deep sleep.

There was a knock on the door, and the giggling sound of a child sounded like a silly prank. But after reading the script, he realized that this was not a real child, but Freddy.

His door was locked, and he just had to stay away from looking around so Freddy wouldn't notice he was still awake.

Time passed very slowly, and the main messenger became more and more panicked. Fear and dread finally overwhelmed him, and he couldn't help but search the house, trying to find the evil spirit that was watching him.

After seeing the dressing mirror facing the bed, the eyes without whites were staring at him intently.

The person behind the mirror gradually became clearer as he emerged. His smile stretched to its widest point, his cheeks cracking as if he were celebrating the thrill of finding his prey in advance.

The master subconsciously pulled the quilt over his head to hide his face. Don't come over, don't come over. But he had already been discovered, how could he possibly escape?

A pair of cold hands kept stroking the quilt. He could almost hear the rustling sound. Then the hand pressed firmly against the quilt, covering his face with it.
