Having determined the downwind location, Jiang Wu returned to the third floor to begin preparations.
He was prepared for a tough battle this time.
Without compromising his mobility, Jiang Wu wrapped all the easily injured parts with thin sheet metal.
After securing it with nylon rope, and finally putting on leg and arm guards, the protective work was complete.
Although it would be very hot, Jiang Wu had no choice.
As for weapons, Jiang Wu brought a machete and a steel spear, along with a rugby hat and a pot lid shield.
After packing his fishing rod into his special backpack and carrying it on his back, Jiang Wu set off fully equipped.
A dozen or so scattered zombies roamed along the provincial highway, which was more than 20 meters wide, just a few meters from the front gate.
Jiang Wu was afraid that fighting with these zombies would attract small groups of zombies to block the door, so he had no choice but to go around through the back door.
Having found a spot with relatively few zombies, Jiang Wu quickly killed two zombies along the provincial highway.
Then he took off and charged straight into a paddy field where there were no zombies.
He noticed that some zombies on the provincial highway a dozen meters away seemed to have noticed him, and it would be troublesome if they chased after him.
A full-speed sprint across a 20-meter-long provincial highway takes only a few seconds.
Just as Jiang Wu was about to rush into the paddy field, he suddenly noticed that there was a skinny zombie right in front of him, hunched over catching toads in the ditch by the roadside.
The provincial highway is located at a higher elevation than the farmland.
Because of the terrain, Jiang Wu, who was sprinting on the road, didn't notice the zombie.
Smelling the human scent, the skinny zombie stood up and looked at Jiang Wu.
Their eyes met.
Jiang Wuren is numb.
Damn it, this zombie doesn't play by the rules!
Jiang Wu wanted to stop.
But he had charged too hard just now, and the huge inertia gave Jiang Wu a kind of indomitable spirit.
With a "bang".
Jiang Wu only had time to use the pot lid shield he was holding in his left hand for some protection.
Then he collided head-on with a zombie, and the two of them fell violently into the paddy field.
This completely stunned Jiang Wu; the pot lid and the steel spear fell out, and a lot of water and mud got into his mouth.
As soon as Jiang Wu lifted his head out of the paddy field, he saw the zombie next to him staring at him with its murky eyes.
The man and the corpse locked eyes once more.
Jiang Wu was stunned.
What's worse, the zombie seemed to have realized what was happening and bit down on it.
Jiang Wu was startled and quickly shoved his left arm over.
With a snap, the zombie's teeth bit down hard on the left arm guard.
Despite the arm brace, Jiang Wu still felt intense pain in his left arm.
It even mimicked the crocodile by shaking its head wildly.
Jiang Wu was furious. He drew his machete from his waist sheath and slashed at the zombie's neck.
Lying down makes it difficult to exert force, so the zombie's neck wasn't severed by the knife.
Dark red blood splattered out, covering Jiang Wu's face and body.
The strong, fishy smell made Jiang Wu feel nauseous.
But he had no choice but to raise his knife again and slash at the zombie's neck.
The zombie wouldn't let go once it bit, and it kept shaking its head wildly.
It wasn't over until Jiang Wu cut off its head.
Ignoring his wounds, Jiang Wu noticed that several zombies were slowly approaching from not far away.
The noise from falling in the paddy field must have attracted these zombies.
Seeing that two of the zombies were already within 3 meters, Jiang Wu, lying in the rice paddy, felt a pang of bitterness in his heart.
The paddy fields were full of mud, which stuck to my shoes, making it impossible to run fast.
If these zombies swarm at me, I'll have no choice but to fight them head-on.
Fortunately, the rice had grown quite tall, preventing the zombies from spotting them immediately.
Damn it, they failed before they even got started; they've already fallen into a disadvantageous situation right from the beginning.
Jiang Wu lay half-reclined in the rice paddy, searching for the steel spear he had just dropped.
But as he touched it, Jiang Wu was taken aback.
Logically, at such close range, these zombies should be able to smell you.
Why are you still dawdling there?
Jiang Wu looked down at himself; he was covered in mud from the rice paddy.
Could it be that the mud is interfering with the zombies' sense of smell?
The nearest zombies are now within two meters.
Jiang Wu held his breath and slowly lay his entire body down in the rice paddy, leaving only half of his head sticking out.
Sure enough, even when the zombie was only a few dozen centimeters away, it still couldn't smell its own scent!
This discovery made Jiang Wu's heart pound; another weakness of the zombie had been discovered!
Just then, Jiang Wu also touched the steel spear.
While the zombie turned its head to sniff in another direction, Jiang Wu slowed down his movements as much as possible and quietly aimed the spear at the zombie's head.
Seizing the opportunity, Jiang Wu thrust forward with all his might.
With a "plop" sound.
The sharp steel spear pierced directly into the zombie's head from below.
The sneak attack succeeded, and the zombie was killed.
Black blood dripped onto Jiang Wu's legs. Ignoring his nausea, he slowly laid the zombie down in the paddy field.
Doing this movement while lying down is actually quite strenuous; it's fortunate that Jiang Wu is very strong.
At this moment, another zombie slowly approached, but it had no idea what had just happened.
Until a sharp steel spear pierced its eye socket, it never noticed Jiang Wu lying in the muddy paddy field until its death.
With the muddy paddy field as cover, Jiang Wu easily dealt with all four approaching zombies.
The only price I paid was rolling around in the mud a few times.
After observing his surroundings and confirming that he was safe, Jiang Wu then checked his left arm.
