After killing hundreds of zombies and five M2s, Jiang Wu returned to the team.
He's only human, after all; he'll get tired eventually.
He also needs to conserve some of his energy to deal with any unknown dangers that may occur.
By this time, Jiang Wu was almost covered in blood, his trench coat stained with foul-smelling, dark red blood.
However, he didn't care. Instead, he walked over to Wu Ming and instructed him, "There are a lot of zombies inside. Try to build as many fortifications as possible."
To be honest, given the number of zombies in the town, and the fact that there's no N-type zombie organization, it's a tough situation.
With his and Xiaoyu's combined strength, they could kill them all sooner or later after a few rests.
But he wouldn't do that, since it would be easy for a few people to kill hundreds or thousands of zombies.
But what if we encounter tens of thousands or even hundreds of thousands of zombies later?
Even if we work ourselves to death, we still can't kill them all!
We must rely on the strength of the collective.
This kind of venue is perfect for field team members to train.
Wu Ming looked at Jiang Wu with awe and said respectfully, "I understand, Chief."
Every time they see Jiang Wu kill zombies as easily as killing chickens, Wu Ming and his team members can't help but feel excited and thrilled.
This is the power of an evolved being!
After being nourished by the giant crocodile meat, Wu Ming could clearly feel his body becoming stronger and stronger.
But he didn't know when he would become a true evolved being.
Despite his usual composure and his current high position.
But he was still just a young man in his early twenties, and he also longed for the day when he would become an evolved being.
Who doesn't want to become a true powerhouse?
......
Two hours later.
Along the road, which is only a few dozen meters long, there are seven or eight low walls, each a meter high, made of earth piled up in sacks. The fields on both sides are full of gullies.
The team members, carrying rifles, sat on the low wall, eating their rations and chatting happily.
After days of training, they remained unfazed even knowing there were thousands of zombies in the town.
The newly selected reserve players, however, were clearly in a different state.
Some of them were pale, while others were covered in sweat.
Some reserve team members couldn't even hold their rations properly; their hands were trembling the whole time.
Jiang Wu sat on the roof of the Pioneer One vehicle, eating braised pig's trotters while thoughtfully observing everything.
I seem to have underestimated people's true nature.
Without going through multiple trials, they can bravely move forward when facing one or a few zombies.
But facing a real horde of zombies, relying on these new reserve members is tantamount to suicide.
It seems these reserve players will have to stay behind.
Su Ziyu leaned against Jiang Wu, gazing at the clouds in the sky with a faint smile on her face.
Suddenly, her clear, large eyes looked in confusion towards a valley.
There, a very faint wisp of smoke was rising.
The smoke was so faint that it was almost invisible unless you looked closely.
Moreover, there are several separate paths.
It's definitely a sign of human intervention...
"Chief, we just caught these two suspicious-looking men behind the convoy."
Peng Gang and his team escorted two ragged, thin men over.
Upon seeing these two men, Jiang Wu understood for the first time what it truly meant to be emaciated and have a sallow complexion.
Their withered skin had an unhealthy yellow hue, far more exaggerated than those people in Tang Min's manor who ate pig and chicken feed every day.
Jiang Wu jumped off the roof of the car, chewing on a pig's trotter as he asked, "Where did you two come from? How many of you are there?"
Neither man replied.
They all stared blankly at the braised pig's trotter in Jiang Wu's hand, swallowing their saliva incessantly.
Peng Gang kicked one of the men in the thigh and said in a muffled voice, "You son of a bitch, the leader is asking you a question!"
The man who had been kicked in the thigh stumbled and almost fell. When he came to his senses, he asked blankly, "Are you soldiers?"
Seeing their pitiful state, Jiang Wu signaled to the field team members to release them.
He said calmly, "Answer my question. If it satisfies me, I'll have someone send you some food."
Upon hearing that there would be food, another man wiped the drool from his mouth and quickly said, "Sir, we are villagers from nearby. We saw your convoy parked here and, seeing that you are all soldiers, we came to check on you."
"Just the two of you?" Jiang Wu asked, somewhat disheartened.
The base is now expanding rapidly and is short-staffed.
Searching for survivors has always been a priority for the field team.
The man who spoke had been carefully observing Jiang Wu's expression. He thought of a possibility and cautiously asked, "Chief, are you perhaps searching for living people?"
Jiang Wu nodded and said, "Don't worry, we're not bad people. If you have any news about survivors, you can let us know."
After thinking for a moment, Jiang Wu took out two chicken drumsticks from the pocket of his crocodile-skin trench coat and tempted, "If the intelligence satisfies me, these two are yours."
The two thin men looked at each other in bewilderment.
A little over a minute later.
One of the men finally spoke up: "Chief, there are more than 40 of us in total, and we've been staying at a nearby farm..."
Jiang Wu listened patiently, then casually asked, "So you all know this town very well?"
The man nodded quickly and said, "I am a resident inside, and I work at the town service center. I managed to escape from inside when the disaster broke out."
"Oh? Do you know how many people live in this town?"
“I know! A few years ago there were about 7,000 people. Later, when the tunnel and elevated road were built in Dawushan, the government set up an office in our town. Thousands of workers also lived in our town. Including their families, there should be about 15,000 people in the town now.”
