"How many zombies are there in this town?"
Jiang Wu took a deep breath, feeling a chill run down his spine.
Seeing a banyan tree over twenty meters tall beside the road ahead, Jiang Wu walked forward and killed the zombies nearby.
Then he climbed up and raised the binoculars hanging around his neck to look into the town.
Through the gap between the bus and the archway, Jiang Wu finally caught a glimpse of part of the town.
Contrary to Jiang Wu's expectations, apart from some vehicles involved in accidents blocking the road, there weren't many zombies inside.
Jiang Wu was a little puzzled, and then looked at the houses built on both sides of the town's road.
To Jiang Wu's delight, almost all of these houses had stainless steel security windows installed!
He understood; all the zombies were locked inside the house.
Rural people go to bed early, and when the disaster struck, most of the town's residents were already preparing to sleep.
After the torrential rain, the townspeople, now turned into zombies, were unable to open the sturdy stainless steel security bars.
With this hypothesis in mind, Jiang Wu calmed down considerably.
How do we get into the town?
Charge across the highway?
But it's still unknown whether the town actually has what I'm looking for.
If we just charge in like this, what if we've wasted our time?
After all, there are over 100 zombies.
Jiang Wu then turned his gaze to the fields on both sides of the road.
This area is all rice paddies. The torrential rains over the past few days have filled the fields with water, and even the paths between the fields are submerged. Judging by the water level, it's at least half a meter deep.
I wonder if that water, like rain, has a corrosive effect.
Should we try again?
Just as he was about to climb down from the tree, he looked down and saw something in the paddy field next to him. Jiang Wu's mouth dropped open in shock.
A chill ran from my tailbone straight up to the top of my head.
I didn't dare to move at all.
