"Chief, from what I overheard your conversation earlier, you wanted to obtain steel bars, but there are too many zombies in the town, is that right?"
Chef Han walked up to Jiang Wu and said cautiously.
Jiang Wu grunted in agreement and casually asked, "You're locals, do you know where there's a lot of steel bars?"
Chef Han chuckled and said, "Chief, when they were building a tunnel over there in the Great Fog Mountain, I delivered food to the people inside and saw countless steel bars and other materials."
Jiang Wu's eyes lit up, and he pressed on, "How far is that Great Fog Mountain?"
"It's about 15 kilometers, but if you drive there, you'll have to go through a small town with more than 3,000 people. However, you can take a detour via a side road, and we'll slowly carry the steel bars out."
Jiang Wu snapped his fingers excitedly, then patted Chef Han on the shoulder and praised, "Not bad, if there really is steel reinforcement inside, you've done a great job!"
Chef Han said with a smile, "It is my honor to be able to share the leader's burdens."
How much longer until the food is ready?
"In about ten minutes."
"Okay, let's finish our meal quickly, and then follow our team to the Great Smoky Mountains!"
Jiang Wu gave the order.
Half an hour later, Jiang Wu returned to the convoy.
Accompanying them were 41 rescued survivors.
Upon seeing the convoy and hundreds of soldiers in full uniform, the survivors, who had just finished eating, were moved to tears.
We're finally saved!
They only ate a little bit of soup made from carrots and cabbage every day, with no staple food, and everyone became skin and bones from hunger.

Seeing that Su Ziyu had not returned, Jiang Wu took out his walkie-talkie and shouted, "Xiaoyu, can you hear me? The convoy is about to leave, come back quickly."
"Brother Wu, wait for me for ten minutes, I'll show you something good in a bit."
"Hmm, no rush."
Before long, Jiang Wu watched in surprise as Su Ziyu led at least 60 people slowly toward the convoy.
These survivors seemed to be in much better spirits than Chef Han and his group; each of them was carrying a bulging snakeskin bag.
The only strange thing is that most of the people in it walk in a weird way, they all limp, it's very eerie.
When Jiang Wu saw the T2 head that Su Ziyu was carrying, he could no longer remain calm.
He rushed to Su Ziyu's side, checking her body while frowning and saying, "Are you stupid? If you encounter this thing, just run away. Why fight it?"
Although the two of them have killed a few T2s recently, they all killed them together.
This was the first time Su Ziyu had dealt with T2 alone.
"I'm not hurt, it can't hit me." Su Ziyu gave a sweet smile.
Seeing that she was indeed not injured, Jiang Wu rubbed Su Ziyu's head and said irritably, "Don't be so impulsive next time."
Su Ziyu took a snakeskin bag from someone next to her and said with a smile, "Brother, look what this is."
Jiang Wu looked down and saw some sweet potatoes with vines and leaves.
Sweet potatoes are plentiful at the farm, nothing special.
Jiang Wu asked in confusion, "What's wrong with these sweet potatoes?"
Su Ziyu said seriously, "Brother, these sweet potatoes grow in the ground, while the ground has been drenched by acid rain!"
Jiang Wu suddenly realized what was happening and exclaimed in horror, "You mean these sweet potatoes grew from land that was drenched in acid rain?!"
Su Ziyu nodded seriously and said, "The survivors I found chopped up the zombies and fermented them with manure. They then poured the fermented liquid onto the land, which allowed them to grow sweet potatoes on the withered soil."
Jiang Wu was thrilled. If that were the case, wouldn't the base be able to grow vegetables?!
And wouldn't that solve the food problem that Bai Feiming and I were worried about in the future?
As for zombies, they're everywhere.
To conquer a village so easily would mean taking out thousands of fertilizer plants.
Chinese cabbage, romaine lettuce, eggplant, peppers, watermelon...
The more he thought about it, the more excited he became. Jiang Wu picked up Su Ziyu and, without caring about the many people around them, kissed her hard on the lips.
He then laughed loudly, "Haha, Little Fish, you've really helped me out this time! If it weren't for your attentiveness, we would have missed this news!"
Su Ziyu's eyes were watery. She threw the things on the ground, hugged Jiang Wu's neck, and stood on tiptoe to kiss him.
She was happier than anyone else to be able to help Brother Wu.
The villagers who were being coerced by Su Ziyu had initially been all smiles and chatting happily when they saw the long line of trucks and hundreds of soldiers on the highway.
But now, they were all dumbfounded.
The men, whose mouths were swollen from being slapped, were especially dumbfounded.
Is this still the same cold-faced female demon who used to beat all men into limping positions?
Is this still the same cold-faced female warrior who slaughtered zombies without batting an eye?
She's clearly a girl in the throes of new love.
How powerful must this tall man be to put her in this state?

A dozen minutes later.
Guided by Chef Han, the convoy headed towards the Dawushan Tunnel.
The plan to attack the original town was immediately shelved.
Having found a place with a huge amount of steel bars, Jiang Wu didn't bother to fight to the death with those more than 10,000 zombies.
The convoy stopped after driving a short distance.
Ahead lies the small town that Chef Han mentioned we had to pass through.
Many self-built houses have been built on both sides of the road, which is about six meters wide and extends for several hundred meters.
