Stepping out of the bedroom, Bai Feiming had already finished washing the dishes and was sitting on the old sofa, staring blankly out the window.
Jiang Wu walked over and sat down next to Bai Feiming, and said softly, "There's a girl named Wang Xi living on the second floor. She's our housekeeper."
She then leaned close to Bai Feiming's ear and told her about Wang Xi's ordeal.
After a pause, Jiang Wu smiled and said, "So Wang Xi can be trusted, but I haven't let her go up to the third or fourth floor yet. Fei Ming, let her help you with things from now on, be your assistant."
Bai Feiming leaned her head against Jiang Wu's chest, sighed, and said, "Brother Wu, let's make arrangements when you come back. I feel sad just thinking about you going out again."
Suddenly remembering something, Bai Feiming leaned close to Jiang Wu's ear and whispered, "You must come back safely. This is my first time. I'll give it to you tonight."
After saying that, Bai Feiming's fair and aloof oval face turned completely red.
Jiang Wu looked at Bai Feiming in disbelief.
I felt my blood pressure suddenly spike to 180, my heart pounded wildly, and a rush of hot blood surged through my body.
A dozen seconds later, Jiang Wu stammered, "You...we...isn't this too fast...?"
Bai Feiming hooked her arm around Jiang Wu's neck and said softly, "I'm not happy. It's the end of the world, and we don't know when death will come. I just want you to be satisfied."
Jiang Wu clenched his fists with excitement; he wanted to take her directly to the room.
But what if my legs go weak from overexertion?
After all, he didn't know what that kind of thing felt like, whether it was tiring, or how long it would take.
Suppressing his excitement, Jiang Wu looked at Bai Feiming earnestly and said, "Don't worry, I'm just going out for a bit. Don't worry about me, just like I've always told you in my messages, trust me!"
Bai Feiming nodded.
Having made thorough preparations, Jiang Wu waved to Bai Feiming, closed the entrance door on the third floor, and went downstairs.
Arriving on the second floor, I knocked on Wang Xi's door.
Jiang Wu said directly to Wang Xi, "Find me a key to an electric scooter; it should be in this room."
Wang Xi looked at Jiang Wu, who was wearing a gas mask, and said with a smile, "Brother, please come in and rest for a while. I think I saw the key you mentioned when I was cleaning the house."
Jiang Wu followed him into the room and casually glanced around.
I never expected that the house I had turned upside down would be so clean and tidy.
This nanny is quite capable.
A moment later, Wang Xi brought over an electric scooter key. Jiang Wu gave her a thumbs up, then took the key and went downstairs.
An electric scooter with a rain canopy was parked in the main room on the first floor; it belonged to the two girls on the second floor.
I used to think this car was useless, but now that I need to go to the city, it's a great means of transportation.
This awning, in particular, has been a huge help.
I inserted the key and checked the battery level; it was fully charged.
Jiang Wu pushed his electric scooter out the back door.
I got on the Yadi electric scooter and checked my gear one last time.
He had a leather sheath strapped to each of his thighs, containing a machete, and a waterproof backpack on his back, with a fire axe strapped to the side of the backpack.
The bag contained some high-energy food and mineral water, plus the steel spear in his left hand; he was well-prepared.
The heavy rain was still falling, but the wind wasn't too strong.
Jiang Wu twisted the accelerator, and the electric car's speed slowly increased to 40 kilometers per hour.
The noise from the Yadi electric scooter was almost negligible in the heavy rain, and the zombies' attention was entirely focused on the rain.
Jiang Wu rode his electric bike smoothly all the way.
In less than ten minutes, Jiang Wu discovered the horde of corpses the skinny man had mentioned.
At least several thousand zombies were scattered across the fields and roads ahead, seemingly covering the entire landscape, which was quite stressful.
The only fortunate thing was that there were almost no zombies in the middle of the road, which was more than ten meters wide.
The road was littered with mangled limbs and broken pieces crushed by car wheels, looking like a bloody trail left by people fleeing in their vehicles.
Taking a deep breath, Jiang Wu floored the accelerator and drove against the current along the path that had been created by the crash.
In the heavy rain, a speed of over forty kilometers per hour is enough to catch the zombies off guard.
The further into the city you go, the stronger the sense of apocalypse becomes.
Jiang Wu parked his car on an overpass, where he could already see the company headquarters building.
There's no way around it; trying to ride your bike directly to the building right now is just wishful thinking.
The once bustling and clean streets are now a scene of devastation.
Vehicles were overturned on the road in various haphazard positions.
Some rushed into stores, others crashed into walls, almost completely blocking the road.
The streets were littered with garbage, and the ground was covered with scraps of clothing and stark white bones.
There were also some dead zombie corpses there slowly rotting.
In the heavy rain, Jiang Wu could see no sign of life and hear no sounds of human activity.
Only those zombies stood motionless in the rain, drinking the rainwater.
Every now and then it would let out a roar, breaking the tranquility of this dead world.
Looking at the scene before him, Jiang Wu clenched his fists tightly.
This damn apocalypse!
After killing dozens of zombies and circling around for hundreds of meters, Jiang Wu still couldn't find a way to the headquarters building a few hundred meters away.
The further into the city you go, the more zombies you see on the streets.
If he tried to fight his way through, Jiang Wu was certain he would be exhausted to death.
The virus outbreak occurred at 9 p.m., shouldn't residents have been at home at that time?
Why are there so many zombies on the streets?
Jiang Wu was a little confused.
I glanced instinctively at the buildings on both sides of the street; some zombies were stuck in the security bars, trying to open their mouths to catch the rain.
