Chapter 103 We Won

"Hehehe... If you're not convinced, you can all come up! Anyway, it'll be pointless for you to come up!"

Upon hearing Wei Zixun's words, the students of Jiangnan were immediately inspired. They all expressed their determination to compete with Wei Zixun and humiliate him.

One of them, Chen Zi'ang, a slender and handsome scholar from Jiangnan, stepped forward first. He bowed to Wei Zixun and said, "I am Chen Zi'ang from Jiangnan. I would like to exchange chess skills with Young Master Wei. What do you think?"

Wei Zixun chuckled and strode over to the stone table in the pavilion, where a chessboard had already been prepared. He glanced at Chen Zi'ang and said disdainfully, "Since Young Master Chen wants to play, then I'll play with you properly."

The game between the two immediately attracted everyone's attention. Chen Zi'ang's chess skills were indeed extraordinary; every move he made was extremely steady, seemingly trying to wear down Wei Zixun's momentum through a solid and methodical approach.

However, Wei Zixun was no ordinary player. When he got serious, his chess skills were simply breathtaking. He was not affected by Chen Zi'ang's steady play; instead, he responded with an even more aggressive attack.

Every move he made was incredibly precise, directly targeting Chen Zi'ang's vital points.

Chen Zi'ang gradually felt the pressure mounting. He tried his best to steady himself, but Wei Zixun's offensive was as fierce as a storm, leaving him unable to resist. After a fierce contest, Chen Zi'ang finally succumbed and shook his head helplessly.

The students from Jiangnan were astonished upon seeing this. They had never imagined that Wei Zixun's chess skills were so formidable, even defeating Chen Zi'ang.

It should be noted that Chen Zi'ang's chess skills were already quite famous in the Jiangnan region.

Seeing their reactions, Wei Zixun smiled slightly, then glanced at the other Jiangnan students and said provocatively, "Is there any other young master who would like to spar with me?"

Upon hearing this, the students from Jiangnan exchanged bewildered glances, none daring to accept the challenge. They knew their chess skills were far inferior to Wei Zixun's. Rather than embarrass themselves, they preferred to remain silent.

Seeing this, Wei Zixun laughed heartily, raising his eyebrows smugly. He turned to Wang Wenjie and said provocatively, "Young Master Wang, it seems that none of you scholars from Jiangnan dare to spar with me. Why don't you personally step into the arena and fight me?"

Upon hearing this, Wang Wenjie slowly stood up, staring intently at Wei Zixun, and said in a deep voice, "Since Young Master Wei has extended such a warm invitation, how could I possibly back down? However, I advise Young Master Wei that one should not be too arrogant, for there is always someone more capable than oneself!"

Wei Zixun smiled contemptuously: "Young Master Wang, you advised me not to be arrogant, but aren't you being arrogant yourself by saying those words to me? Come on! Words are useless. Only by defeating me will you be qualified to compete with the number one talent in the capital!"

Wang Wenjie said no more. He walked to the chessboard, sat down, and began playing against Wei Zixun.

The game immediately drew everyone's attention. Wang Wenjie's style was steady yet sharp, each move exquisitely executed. Almost every move was a trap.

Although Wei Zixun was also a highly skilled player, he seemed somewhat outmatched by Wang Wenjie.

As time went on, Wei Zixun's disadvantage became increasingly apparent. His pieces were restrained one by one by Wang Wenjie, unable to exert their due power. Meanwhile, Wang Wenjie seized the opportunity to attack, pressing forward relentlessly.

In the end, Wang Wenjie defeated Wei Zixun with an absolute advantage.

He stood up, smiled slightly, and cupped his hands to Wei Zixun, saying, "You flatter me."

Wei Zixun's expression darkened slightly, but he didn't say much. He knew he hadn't lost unjustly; Wang Wenjie's chess skills were indeed superior to his.

Upon seeing this, the students from Jiangnan cheered. They hadn't expected Wang Wenjie to defeat Wei Zixun so easily; he truly lived up to his reputation as the top scholar of Jiangnan—amazing!

"Young Master Sheng, how about a game?"

Wang Wenjie turned to look at Sheng Wenjin and smiled faintly.

“Sure!” Sheng Wenjin stood up lazily, walked to the stone table, and sat down with a flick of his sleeve.

His movements were casual yet elegant, as if everything in the world was under his control.

At this moment, the ladies watching immediately had their eyes light up and stared at Sheng Wenjin with infatuation.

So handsome! So incredibly handsome!

Sheng Wenjin and Wang Wenjie sat facing each other, their gazes meeting in a subtle, almost imperceptible, exchange. Everyone around them held their breath, anticipating this clash between top-tier chess players.

Sheng Wenjin smiled slightly and let Wang Wenjie make the first move.

Wang Wenjie didn't hold back and placed his black piece.

The game progressed exceptionally slowly, with each move carefully considered. The surrounding crowd watched with rapt attention, as if they themselves were on the chessboard, competing alongside these two top players.

As time went on, the situation on the chessboard became increasingly tense. Sheng Wenjin's pieces resembled a giant dragon, winding and coiling across the board with imposing momentum. Wang Wenjie's pieces, on the other hand, were like a fierce tiger, poised to strike and deliver a fatal blow to his opponent at any moment.

The two players went back and forth, neither giving an inch. The situation on the chessboard was sometimes tense, sometimes relaxed, keeping the audience on the edge of their seats.

Finally, after a fierce competition, Wang Wenjie frowned slightly. He realized that he had fallen into Sheng Wenjin's chess game and could not break it no matter what.

He was startled, thinking to himself that Sheng Wenjin was indeed living up to his reputation, his chess skills were so superb.

Sheng Wenjin smiled slightly, knowing he had won the game. He didn't rush to place the last piece, but looked up at Wang Wenjie and said calmly, "Young Master Wang, you've conceded."

Upon hearing this, Wang Wenjie gave a wry smile, cupped his hands, and said, "Young Master Sheng's chess skills are superb; I admire them."
