Chapter 199 Activating the Ancient Soul Gathering Array

Sheng Wenjin did not tell the Chu family or his younger brothers that his celestial soul was going to the void world.

Sheng Wenjin's greatest fear was facing scenes of life and death. If he were to leave, the Earth Soul would return. The Earth Soul and the Heaven Soul were originally one, so he felt that even if he couldn't come back, to his family it would just be that their son or elder brother had lost his memory, and there was nothing to be sad about.

Under the twinkling stars of the night, in Sheng Wenjin's courtyard, Sheng Wanwan activated the ancient Soul Gathering Array. As soon as the array was completed, a large vortex appeared before Sheng Wanwan and Sheng Wenjin, with countless stars twinkling within it, like the entrance to another world.

"Big brother, are you ready?" Sheng Wanwan looked at Sheng Wenjin, her small face full of seriousness.

Sheng Wenjin nodded, took a deep breath, and then glanced in the direction where Si Rouxue was: "Wanwan, if I don't come back, you must take good care of Xue'er, as well as Mother and my brothers."

"Big brother, you will definitely come back!" Sheng Wanwan's eyes were firm. "If you don't come back, then I will go to the Void World to find you!"

Sheng Wenjin smiled slightly and patted Sheng Wanwan's head: "Wanwan, thank you. Let's begin..."

As Sheng Wenjin spoke, he took off his shirt, lay down on the grass, and then closed his eyes.

“Hmm!” Sheng Wanwan said, taking out Si Mingye’s divine bloodline and starting to draw talismans on Sheng Wenjin’s bare upper body with the blood.

Once the talisman was completed, Sheng Wenjin's celestial soul slowly left his body, now enveloped in a layer of golden light. This was a divine power shield bestowed upon the soul by the bloodline of the gods; with this shield, the soul would not be torn to pieces by the spatial turbulence when passing through the vortex!

Sheng Wenjin's celestial soul glanced back at Sheng Wanwan before turning and entering the Gate of Nothingness.

As Sheng Wenjin's celestial soul gradually disappeared into the vortex of the Gate of Nothingness, Sheng Wanwan clenched her fists tightly, silently praying for her elder brother's safe return. She knew that this separation might mean a long period of separation, but she still firmly believed that Sheng Wenjin would successfully retrieve Xue'er's remnant soul and return safely.

Just then, footsteps sounded outside the courtyard. Sheng Wanwan turned around and saw Chu Shi and her two brothers rushing over.

"Wanwan, has your eldest brother already left?" Chu's voice trembled slightly, clearly showing her great concern for Sheng Wenjin's safety.

“Mother, yes! Big brother went to help Sister Xue’er find her soul. Mother, don’t worry! Big brother will be alright!” Sheng Wanwan comforted her.

"Sigh! I know I shouldn't think like this, but Mother really hopes that girl will be foolish for the rest of her life rather than let your eldest brother take such a risk! In his current state, won't he end up like before, unable to speak or move, lying there suffering?"

Chu felt a pang of heartache when she saw her son lying on the ground.

"Mother, no! My abilities have recovered to about 70-80% now. I'll go and help my elder brother bring out his earth soul, and then use a secret technique to seal his earth soul, human soul, and seven spirits inside his body. Then my elder brother will be my elder brother again."

However, the eldest brother back then might have been a bit ordinary, since the body was no longer controlled by the celestial soul possessing the memories of generations!

Sheng Wanwan blinked her big eyes and explained.

"Wanwan, really? As long as your older brother is alive and kicking by my side, I'd be happy even if he weren't as smart as Wen Jin now, or even if he were an idiot. Besides, it seems your older brother wasn't that outstanding to begin with..."

Chu was delighted to hear this. Wasn't her 'stupid' son, who lacked the talent of a heavenly soul, the real son of her?

To be honest, although she was proud of Sheng Wenjin's powerful Heavenly Soul, she just couldn't feel close to it and felt a distance between them.

"Really, Mother, just wait, I will bring you back a lively and energetic son." Sheng Wanwan said as she opened the gate to the Yin-Yang Path.

"Mother, brothers, wait for me at home, I'll be right back." Sheng Wanwan said, and with a thought, Sheng Wenjin's body appeared on the bed in the space.

And she stepped directly into the path between life and death.

"Little sister, do you want your brother to go with you? It looks so scary inside, are you afraid?" Sheng Wenyu asked worriedly. Although he was also scared, he felt that he would be brave because of his sister.

"Yes! Little sister, can third brother come along too? Although third brother is timid, he also wants to see the world. I've never been to the underworld before!"

Sheng Wenze watched as a ghost occasionally drifted by on the Yin-Yang Road, rubbing his hands together with a mixture of fear and excitement.

"The road to the underworld is a path that shortens the lifespan of the living. You all stay home and wait for me to return!"

As Sheng Wanwan spoke, without waiting for her two older brothers to respond, she closed the Yin-Yang Road.

Chu's words of caution to Sheng Wanwan were also kept out of reach.

Looking at the courtyard as if nothing had happened, Madam Chu turned around and went back to her room to sleep.

She believed in her daughter's abilities; she was certain she could deliver on her promises.

Sheng Wanwan walked along the path from the underworld to the netherworld. Along the way, ghosts kept brushing past her, but they all ignored her, as if she didn't exist.

This is because the power of merit emanating from her is so pure and yang that ghosts instinctively avoid her to prevent accidentally harming themselves.

Sheng Wanwan was no stranger to the underworld. In her previous life, as a big shot in the Xuanmen sect, she often traveled between the Yin and Yang realms, throwing evil ghosts and monsters in the mortal world into the eighteen levels of hell.

She made her way towards the Yama's Palace with practiced ease. Along the way, she encountered ghost messengers who tried to stop her, but she simply cast a talisman, freezing them in place.
