Chapter 263 Demonic Dragon

The screams of immortal cultivators echoed intermittently from afar. Because of this wolf-bee swarm attack, countless immortal cultivators were destined to perish in the Demon Beast Forest…

At this moment, the junior disciple slowly opened his eyes, clutching his head and saying, "Junior Sister, why did I just faint?"

"You were so scared! You probably fainted because you were too nervous!" Chu Wanwan made up a story with a straight face.

Upon hearing this, the young disciple blushed with embarrassment.

Damn it!

Chu Wanwan, a little child, wasn't scared at all, but this teenager fainted from fright?

"Cough cough cough... Um, junior sister, did we escape? But how did we escape?" the junior disciple asked in confusion.

As far as he knew, with their cultivation level, once they were targeted by a swarm of wolves and bees, they would have virtually no chance of survival without a teleportation jade tablet.

How did she, a little girl, manage to escape with her life?

"I don't know! I was so scared, so I made Big White keep running...keep running..."

After running for an unknown amount of time, the swarm of wolf bees disappeared without a trace. They were probably lured away by other magical beasts or immortal cultivators?

Chu Wanwan had an expression that said, "I didn't know anything, I was terrified."

Although the junior disciple still had doubts after hearing Chu Wanwan's explanation, he didn't press her for more information because of her innocent expression.

"Alright, junior sister, we were indeed lucky. But what should we do next? It's too dangerous here!"

The young disciple looked around, his brow furrowed.

Chu Wanwan was well aware that their situation was not optimistic. She lowered her head and pondered for a moment, then raised her head and said, "Junior Brother, let's find a safe place to rest first, and then think of a way to leave this dangerous area."

Big White seemed to sense its owner's mood, so it slowed down and began looking for a suitable place to rest.

Soon, they found a naturally formed stone cave. Chu Wanwan and her young disciple entered the cave and lit a fire.

"Junior Sister, don't you think the appearance of these wolf-bee swarms is a bit strange?" the junior disciple suddenly asked.

"I don't know. This is my first time in the Monster Forest, and I really don't know much about the situation here. I also don't know anything about wolf bees."

Junior brother, are wolf bees also beasts of the demon realm? What do you mean by "abnormality"?

Chu Wanwan asked.

"Wolf bees are the lowest-level creatures in the demon realm. In terms of individual combat strength, they are no match for the demons from beyond the realm."

Most of the time they operate in small groups. This is the first time I've heard of such a large-scale attack on immortal cultivators! The junior disciple frowned.

"In the past, they were in small groups? Is this the first time we've seen swarms of wasps like locusts passing through?" Chu Wanwan asked, frowning.

“That’s right, this is the first time I’ve heard of such a situation.” The junior disciple nodded. “Moreover, it’s very strange that this swarm of wolf bees only attacked immortal cultivators! You know, wolf bees are a very fierce and brutal small magical beast, and in the past, small groups of them would attack indiscriminately.”

When they are hungry, they will eat anything, whether it is a cultivator, a demon beast, or a celestial beast.

But when we were running away, there were clearly monsters galloping behind us, but they acted as if they couldn't see them. They didn't chase the monsters, they only chased us.

This is completely illogical!

Hearing this, Chu Wanwan felt a sense of unease. She recalled the scene of the wolf-bee swarm chasing her earlier, and it was indeed as her junior disciple had said; the wolf-bees seemed to target only her and her junior disciple, ignoring the surrounding magical beasts.

"Junior Brother, do you think the appearance of this wolf-bee swarm might be driven by some powerful magical beast, trying to drive all the immortal cultivators out of the Magical Beast Forest?" Chu Wanwan asked tentatively.

"Most of the time, magical beasts lack intelligence, unless their strength is equivalent to that of a Void Mirror Realm beast, in which case they might develop even a sliver of intelligence. But as far as I know, there aren't any magical beasts of that level in the Magical Beast Forest!"

The young disciple frowned.

"If you can't figure it out, don't think about it anymore. We'll deal with whatever comes our way! Junior brother, what's your name? How should I address you from now on?"

Seeing her youngest disciple deep in thought with his brows furrowed, Chu Wanwan decided to temporarily put aside the issue of the wolf-bee swarm and instead asked him his name.

“My name is Chen Mo, but Master always calls me Mo’er. Junior Sister, you can call me Junior Brother. I’m fifteen years old this year, and besides you, I’m the youngest in the Starry Sky Sect!” Junior disciple Chen Mo replied with a smile.

"Okay, junior brother! Let's go to sleep first!"

As Chu Wanwan spoke, she lay down on Da Bai's body and closed her eyes.

Seeing this, Chen Mo also found a comfortable spot to lie down and prepare to rest.

Night had fallen, and only the faint light from the fire flickered inside the cave. Chu Wanwan and Chen Mo were both sound asleep, while only Da Bai remained vigilant, its ears twitching occasionally as it watched for any sounds around it.

After an unknown amount of time, a slight sound broke the silence of the night. Chu Wanwan and Da Bai woke up almost simultaneously, and Chen Mo was also startled awake. They looked nervously at the cave entrance, only to find it pitch black outside, and they couldn't see anything at all.

"Junior Sister, what's wrong?" Chen Mo asked in a low voice.

"I heard some noise outside." Chu Wanwan stood up and walked towards the cave entrance.

Chu Wanwan cautiously approached the cave entrance, trying to make as little noise as possible. She stared at the dark forest outside, her heart filled with vigilance. Big White followed closely behind her, letting out a low growl, seemingly warning any potential threat to stay away.

Chen Mo also quickly stood up, drew his longsword, and prepared to deal with any unexpected situation.

The two stood silently at the cave entrance, listening intently. The sounds outside seemed to grow clearer, as if many people were running wildly through the forest.

Soon, Chu Wanwan saw that the group rushing over were disciples of the immortal sect dressed in uniform cultivation robes, about twenty in number, all of whom were at the Nascent Soul Realm.

"Big brother, second brother?" Chen Mo's eyes widened in surprise when he recognized the disciples from the immortal sect running towards him. He quickly went to greet them, calling out, "Big brother, second brother, what brings you here?"

Upon hearing Chen Mo's shout, the two leading disciples of the immortal sect immediately ran towards the cave.

"Third brother, hurry into the cave! There are high-level magical beasts behind us!" they shouted urgently, their voices filled with panic.

Upon hearing the words "high-level magical beast," Chu Wanwan and Chen Mo's hearts tightened. They quickly retreated back into the cave, preparing to face the impending danger.

Big White also let out a low growl, its fur standing on end, clearly sensing the impending threat. It stayed close to Chu Wanwan, its eyes warily fixed on the cave entrance.

Soon, a colossal magical beast appeared at the cave entrance. It was a black dragon with two horns on its head, its massive body almost completely obscuring the cave entrance. Its eyes gleamed with a cold, eerie light, as if they could see through everything. Its scales shimmered with a chilling light, each one like armor forged through countless trials, indestructible.

The black dragon's mouth opened slightly, revealing sharp fangs that seemed capable of tearing apart any obstacle in its path. Its aura was powerful and terrifying; merely standing at the cave entrance evoked an irresistible sense of oppression.
