Another half hour passed before Sheng Wanwan was brought over by her wet nurse.
Sheng Wenjin was patiently listening to Chu Shi's idle chatter when he saw Sheng Wanwan enter. He quickly stood up and took Sheng Wanwan from the wet nurse's arms.
He stared intently at the little girl and, seeing that Sheng Wanwan was exquisitely beautiful, nodded in satisfaction.
Thankfully, she's good enough to be his sister...
"Big brother, you really need to eat more. Both your maternal and paternal families are incredibly beautiful. You're so ugly, people will laugh at you if you go out with me!"
Sheng Wanwan, being held by Sheng Wenjin, pouted and said.
No one could understand her baby talk, but Sheng Wenjin did.
He's ugly? With such a beautiful soul, how could his body be ugly?
Sheng Wenjin quickly picked up Sheng Wanwan and sat her in front of Chu Shi's dressing mirror, only to be nearly scared to death by his own appearance in this life.
It's like a skeleton covered by a thin layer of human skin!
His face was pale and ashen, his eyes were sunken, and there wasn't a bit of flesh on his cheeks. He looked like a living, starving ghost.
Chu saw that Sheng Wenjin had been holding Sheng Wanwan for a short while before going to look in the mirror.
Seeing the disgusted look on his face, he suddenly burst out laughing.
"You're finally starting to look like my son. From childhood to adulthood, your only flaw has been that you care too much about your appearance."
Don't worry, you're just malnourished and too thin.
"Eat more in the future, and you'll turn back into a handsome young man like before!"
Upon hearing this, Sheng Wenjin stood up and handed Sheng Wanwan to Madam Chu.
Then he sat down at the table and started eating the pastries...
Madam Chu shook her head and smiled bitterly. This child is good in every way, except that he has never been able to get rid of his vain habit since he was a child. He can't tolerate any flaws in his appearance.
However, this is good too, as eating more will help the body recover as quickly as possible.
"Madam, the old lady is outside, shouting that she wants to come in and give you a lecture..."
Zhu Cui hurriedly went into the room to report, while rolling her eyes at the outside as she spoke.
Upon hearing Zhu Cui's report, a cold smile appeared on Chu Shi's lips:
"Educate me? Heh heh... Let her in!"
Upon hearing this, Zhu Cui stepped back to the door and called out to the outside.
Soon, Old Madam Sheng entered with a group of maids and servants.
After entering the room, the old lady first glared at Zhu Cui, then looked around at everyone in the room, and finally looked at Sheng Wenjin:
"Oh my! My second grandson is awake! Now that he's awake, why doesn't he go to his grandmother's room to pay his respects?"
Just like your mother, you have no manners!
Upon hearing this, Sheng Wenjin indifferently glanced at Old Madam Sheng, then lowered his head to drink his tea, completely disregarding her.
Upon seeing this, Old Madam Sheng turned green with anger.
Recently, the Chu family has stopped paying much attention to her, and now this second grandson is treating her the same way.
As expected, like mother, like son; they are both so unfilial.
However, Madam Sheng did not lash out at Sheng Wenjin; she had come today to seek help from Madam Chu.
Madam Sheng rolled her eyes at Sheng Wenjin, suppressed her anger, and turned to say to Madam Chu.
"You, as a mother, why don't you do anything about your son? How can anyone treat their grandmother like this? Who are you trying to fool with this indifferent attitude? This is simply unfilial!"
"Hehehe... Unfilial? Madam, my young master has been in a coma for over a year, and you, his so-called grandmother, haven't visited him even once in the East Garden. As the saying goes, if the superiors are kind, the inferiors will be filial; if the superiors are not kind, the inferiors will naturally be unfilial."
Before Madam Chu could reply to what Old Madam Sheng had said, Zhu Cui interrupted with a sarcastic remark.
Anyway, as Madam has said, we don't need to be so polite to the Sheng family anymore. Since we've already broken off relations, there's no need to pretend anymore.
"You! How dare you, a mere servant, speak to me like that? You have absolutely no manners! Guards! Slap her!"
As soon as Madam Sheng finished speaking, an old woman stepped forward and raised her hand to slap Zhu Cui.
Zhu Cui was a martial artist, so she naturally wouldn't let the old woman hit her. She dodged the attack with a quick movement.
Before dodging, he secretly tripped up the old woman.
The old woman used too much force and couldn't control her strength, and then she tripped over her old leg.
He staggered forward.
"Ouch!" the old woman cried out and fell heavily to the ground.
Upon seeing this, the other maids and servants quickly gathered around and helped the old woman up.
"Fine! You lowly thing, you dare to dodge? If I want to hit you, do you think I'd let a little girl like you escape!"
"All of you, go!"
Madam Sheng glared at Zhu Cui and gave instructions to the maids and servants she had brought.
The maids and servants responded and rushed towards Zhu Cui.
"Enough, mother-in-law, what are you trying to do by causing trouble in my East Garden so early in the morning?"
Chu stood directly in front of Zhu Cui, preventing those people from getting closer.
"I'm causing trouble? You say I'm causing trouble? It's clearly your maid who doesn't know the rules. I wanted to come in to see you early this morning, but this girl blocked me from the outside!"
What did you say? There's a large amount of dowry in the East Garden, and to prevent the dowry from being lost, unauthorized personnel are not allowed to enter!
They even said that if I want to come in, I need your permission!
I think this lowly thing is deliberately making things difficult for me!
As you saw, this thing won't even listen to me. I wanted to teach her a lesson, and she dared to run away?
Old Madam Sheng pointed at Zhucui's nose and scolded, "So ill-mannered! I think she shouldn't stay in the General's Mansion; she should be sold off!"
