With a wave of her hand, Chu Wanwan caused the brick wall between the 30th and 29th floors to collapse with a roar. On the other side of the wall was the stairwell, where several strange beasts were lurking. Seeing the group appear, they howled and charged towards them.
Some survivors screamed in terror.
Si Mingye frowned, reached out and squeezed, instantly crushing the bodies of those strange beasts.
The survivors' screams suddenly erupted. Damn it! How could they forget again that there was a god clearing the way for them? What were they afraid of?
As a result, the timid survivors grew bolder, and when they saw the beasts rushing at them again, they were much calmer. At least there were no more ear-piercing screams.
Chu Wanwan and Si Mingye walked ahead, killing any strange beasts they encountered. The survivors followed, some carrying corpses, others cleaning up the blood, and still others tidying up.
The cleaning tools used were owned by the hotel, while the water used in the hotel was collected by Chu Wanwan.
For Chu Wanwan and Si Mingye, wiping out the monsters in the entire building was a simple matter. It only took them about an hour to go from the thirtieth floor to the first floor and clear out all the monsters.
For the rest of the time, Chu Wanwan became a human-shaped water tap. Si Mingye then led his men directly to the water company in M City.
Because the water pipes were all underground and were largely undamaged, and the water company had backup diesel generators, the entire city had running water at night.
In every corner of M City, countless people wept with joy.
They not only had clean water to drink, but the restoration of water supply proved that a powerful rescue team had entered the city. Otherwise, who would have the ability to break into the water company and successfully restore the water supply?
The base not only had running water, but also electricity because Si Mingye brought back an unused diesel generator from the waterworks.
The entire building was brightly lit. The survivors, who had been hiding in different parts of the city, were all excited. A rescue team—a rescue team must have entered the city.
They're saved!
With water and electricity back on, everyone took a hot shower that evening. From many of the hotel rooms came sobs and expressions of gratitude towards Chu Wanwan and Si Mingye.
They all thought that humanity was about to become extinct and that they wouldn't live much longer, but the appearance of Chu Wanwan and her companion gave them renewed hope for survival.
They were incredibly grateful to Chu Wanwan and Si Mingye. This gratitude slowly transformed into a kind of faith, continuously flowing towards Chu Wanwan and Si Mingye.
The following day, the power and communications personnel, having gathered all the necessary materials, split into two teams and headed towards the power and communications companies. Chu Wanwan and Si Mingye each led a team, continuously clearing away the strange beasts along the way.
Several armored vehicles carrying personnel and materials were traveling on the highway between cities. The loud roar of the vehicles attracted a number of strange beasts, which rushed towards the convoy, trying to attack these uninvited guests who had entered their territory.
However, under Chu Wanwan's leadership, the caravan was not afraid of the threat from these strange beasts at all.
With a wave of her hand, Chu Wanwan unleashed a barrage of arrows formed from spiritual energy, raining down upon the charging beasts. Each arrow contained immense power and possessed tremendous penetrating force, instantly killing the beasts on the ground.
Under her protection, the convoy safely passed through the siege of the strange beasts.
As they were passing by a large shopping mall, calls suddenly rang out from the top floor.
Chu Wanwan looked up and saw a group of people anxiously waving their arms on the rooftop, trying to get their attention. Their faces were filled with fear and helplessness; they had clearly been trapped there for a long time.
"Stop!" Chu Wanwan immediately ordered. The armored vehicles came to a stop in perfect unison.
"Azure Dragon, go and bring them down." As soon as Chu Wanwan finished speaking, Azure Dragon flew out of the space, its huge body soaring into the air and heading straight for the rooftop of the mall.
The survivors, witnessing this, instantly retreated. They tried to run downstairs, but their shouts had already attracted the attention of the strange beasts below, who were now banging on the balcony door.
The Azure Dragon hovered beside the rooftop, its massive head looking down at the panicked crowd. It spoke, "What are you afraid of? I'm not going to eat you! Hurry up and get on, stop dawdling!"
"You...you are the legendary dragon?" a middle-aged man in a suit asked incredulously.
"As you can see, the future divine beast, Azure Dragon. I'm asking you, are you coming or not? If you're not coming, I'm leaving!" Azure Dragon glanced at the survivors arrogantly and said impatiently.
"Go! Go!" the middle-aged man said excitedly as he climbed onto the back of the Azure Dragon.
My God! There really are dragons in this world, and he even sat on the back of a dragon. This feeling is simply like a dream. The middle-aged man gripped the scales on the back of the blue dragon tightly, feeling both fear and excitement.
Seeing this, the others also mustered their courage and climbed onto the broad back of the Azure Dragon using both hands and feet. After everyone was settled, the Azure Dragon let out a deep dragon roar, then flapped its wings and took flight. Its massive body nimbly weaved between the buildings, circled once, and then slowly landed beside the armored vehicle convoy with them on its back.
Chu Wanwan greeted the newly rescued survivors with a smile.
"Welcome to Hope Base." Hope Base is the name of Yang Hao's base.
"Thank you, fairy! Thank you for saving us!" The man in the suit immediately knelt on the ground and kowtowed to thank Chu Wanwan. As he knelt down, all the other survivors also knelt down.
They could see it clearly from the rooftop: Chu Wanwan could kill a large group of strange beasts with a wave of her hand and also ride a divine dragon. What else could she be but a deity?
Chu Wanwan smiled and asked them to get up. "Are there any supplies left in this mall?"
“Yes! Yes! Although the food in the supermarket was looted at the beginning of the apocalypse, there is a large stock in the warehouse in the backyard. We survived for so long by climbing down the ladder from the rooftop to move supplies when there were no monsters in the backyard.” The man in the suit quickly replied, his eyes flashing with respect for Chu Wanwan.
