"Master Chu, the network equipment, data center, and communication base stations have all been repaired. If all goes well, the local area network in M City should be restarted before evening!"
A technician reported this.
"Okay! Once the network is restored, send a message to all survivors, instructing them to send a message to these phone numbers reporting their location. Once we receive the message, we will prioritize rescue efforts!"
Chu Wanwan handed a piece of paper to the technician; the paper contained the mobile phone numbers of the Hope Base members.
"Okay! We'll use a mass message." The technician took the paper and turned to get back to work.
In the evening, all the survivors received a message on their phones.
"Survivors in M City, mobile network is now working again, but various social media platforms are still unavailable due to server issues. Please contact us via text message."
This is our mobile number. Please remember to contact us via SMS; we will not answer any phone calls!
The phone numbers are as follows:
XXXXX
XXXX
XXXX……
..."
Below is a long list of phone numbers.
The survivors were overjoyed and wept with joy upon receiving the news; they had finally received news of rescue.
Ever since the water and electricity were restored, they've kept their phones fully charged, waiting for news of rescue! Now, their hopes have finally been fulfilled...
They quickly sent their location and situation to a designated number via text message, hoping for rescue.
“We are 15 people in Unit 2, Building 7 of the Central Garden Community. We have been without food for two days. We request priority rescue.”
"There are three of us in the underground parking garage of the Lake Rhyme Garden residential complex. Monsters are roaming outside, and we can't get out at all. Please help us!"
"We are here..."
"..."
After receiving the distress messages from the survivors, Chu Wanwan ordered the base personnel to mark the locations with the most survivors for priority rescue the next day.
The next day, Chu Wanwan, Si Mingye, and Chu Wanwan's three contracted beasts each led a group of people to the rescue site.
Chu Wanwan took out more than a hundred military trucks from her spatial storage and set off in five separate groups.
Along the way, Chu Wanwan kept clearing out the strange beasts. When they arrived at the rescue site, she first fished for fish, and then had the rescue team composed of survivors rush into the building to clear out the remaining strange beasts.
Now, every adult man and woman in the base has a gun and a knife. Chu Wanwan has had several special forces soldiers train them, and the results are already showing. At least they dare to fight the alien beasts with real weapons.
Chu Wanwan never believed that she and Si Mingye could save all of humanity. The world was too big, and if they attacked indiscriminately, they could destroy the entire Earth in one move.
But no, their power is too great to be used arbitrarily.
Therefore, the role of ordinary people is crucial in quickly eliminating the alien beasts.
They will later use fishing methods to eliminate a large number of alien beasts, and leave the rest to human warriors.
Chu Wanwan was in charge of the rescue operation for a large residential community. The community had a beautiful environment with lush trees and various green plants arranged in a pleasing manner. Inside the community, there was a lake, artificial hills, fountains, and recreational areas for the elderly and children.
Chu Wanwan stood in the central square of the residential area, looking around with a sense of wonder. The environment of this community was truly wonderful, almost like a paradise. She imagined that if the monster attack hadn't occurred, the residents here would surely be living very happy lives.
She decided to make this community a new base for Hope Foundation. The environment is beautiful, the facilities are complete, and there's enough space to accommodate more people. She believes that as long as everyone works together, they can definitely build this community into a new home.
So, Chu Wanwan ordered everyone to start cleaning and tidying up one of the buildings. They cleaned up the monster corpses, some trash, and dust from the rooms. Chu Wanwan also placed food and water, as well as some new clothes and toiletries in each room!
These items were all sourced by Chu Wanwan from various shopping malls and supermarkets in M City. There were so many items that they were enough for the current survivors in M City to live on for decades.
After a lot of work, these vacant houses have finally been transformed and are now habitable.
Next, Liu Xin began arranging for the survivors to move in.
She assigned suitable rooms to each person based on their circumstances and needs. Some families were put in the same room so they could take care of each other; some single people were put in rooms with roommates so they could keep each other company.
That night, each survivor took a comfortable bath and ate a meal of rice. The feeling of surviving the ordeal made them cherish this hard-won peace and sustenance. Lying on the soft beds, feeling the warmth and comfort of the clean bedding, their hearts were filled with gratitude.
Early the next morning, everyone from Hope Base and the survivors rescued from various places the previous day arrived at the new base in a grand procession. Chu Wanwan ordered all the able-bodied young survivors who had recently joined the base to be responsible for moving the corpses and gathering them in an open area for burning. The elderly, weak, women, and children were responsible for cleaning up.
Chu Wanwan, along with the members of the old base, continued the rescue operation.
A month later, the mutated beasts in the city had been basically wiped out, and according to statistics, fewer than 50,000 people remained as survivors in M City. It's worth noting that M City was an international metropolis before the apocalypse, with a population of over 40 million.
Of course, the urban population here also includes the prefecture-level cities, towns, and villages under M City. However, even based solely on the urban population estimate, the total population decrease of M City is still extremely alarming.
