Chapter 363 The War of Prehistoric Humans (Part Two)

“This light shield…” Chu Wanwan murmured, her eyes gleaming with astonishment, “It can actually refract and amplify attacks, this technology…”

Si Mingye frowned as well. Such a defense system was beyond his comprehension. "The technology of this civilization is truly amazing. I think if we were attacked by this kind of light wave, it would be difficult for us to escape unscathed."

"Hmm!" Chu Wanwan nodded with a frown.

After their attack failed, the white-robed warriors did not immediately retreat. Instead, they continued to attack from various angles around the city, trying to find a weakness in the light shield.

The attacks continued from morning till dusk, yet they did not cause the slightest damage to the shield.

At this point, all the warships finally retreated.

Si Mingye and Chu Wanwan looked down at the still-standing human city and the ruins and dust left after the war, their hearts filled with complex emotions.

Although the city's defense system was strong, war inevitably affected the ecological environment.

Si Mingye and Chu Wanwan flew to the edge of the war zone and found that it was the outer edge of a primeval forest.

There were still a few charred trees scattered about, and large piles of dinosaur carcasses...

"If such a war were to break out in full force, it would be devastating to the world!" Chu Wanwan said, frowning.

"Yes! Sometimes, a high level of civilization development is not necessarily a good thing!" Si Mingye sighed.

The two flew forward for a while longer and discovered that large numbers of dinosaurs were beginning to migrate south. They probably realized that this place was no longer safe.

Si Mingye and Chu Wanwan did not build a treehouse. During the day, they hid in the shadows to observe the city, and at night they went into the space to rest.

A few days later, the white-robed men's fleet of warships arrived again. This time, instead of attacking the city with energy beams, they launched a dense array of tiny flying vehicles.

These aircraft are unlike any weapons seen before; they are small and agile, like countless tiny mosquitoes.

Chu Wanwan and Si Mingye watched this scene with bated breath, realizing that this might be a new tactic employed by the white-robed men. These aircraft darted rapidly across the city, scattered above the light shield as if searching for something.

"What are these mosquito-like things doing? Are they looking for a weak point in the light shield?" Chu Wanwan frowned and murmured softly.

"It should be!" Si Mingye nodded.

Just then, the black-robed figures in the city also reacted.

Slender beams of light rose from the city, attempting to shoot down the aircraft.

However, the aircraft seemed to have extremely high maneuverability and evasion capabilities. They moved nimbly between beams of light and were able to evade most of the attacks.

Suddenly, the aircraft began to converge at a specific location on the city's protective shield. Then, they began firing tiny beams of light, concentrating their attack on the same point on the shield.

The point began to slowly grow larger, forming a white halo. At this moment, the white-robed man's attack began again.

Waves of light struck the white halo, causing the light shield to fluctuate violently, seemingly on the verge of shattering.

Several enormous warships took to the air from various parts of the vast city. A passage was created in the protective shields above the warships, which quickly closed again after the warships had flown out of the city.

After the warships took off, they quickly launched a fierce attack on the white-robed man's warships.

The white-robed men were not to be outdone. Some of their warships turned around and clashed with the black-robed men's warships, while the other warships focused their efforts on attacking the weak points of the city's protective shield.

The energy waves collided continuously, each impact seemingly tearing the sky apart. Powerful shockwaves surged through the air, causing the surrounding air to tremble.

Chu Wanwan and Si Mingye closely monitored the development of the battle from the air.

They saw that although the black-robed men's warships were numerous, they were gradually becoming overwhelmed by the white-robed men's warships' relentless attacks.

Meanwhile, the city's protective shield was gradually dimming under the relentless attacks of the white-robed man.

Just when Chu Wanwan thought the man in black robes was doomed to defeat, a larger fleet sailed in from afar and joined the man in black robes' fleet, instantly turning the tide of the battle.

The white-robed fleet, which had initially held the upper hand, is now facing a severe challenge.

The newly joined fleet clearly possessed more advanced technology and more powerful weaponry. Their warships were much larger than those of the black-robed men, and the energy beams they emitted were far more powerful.

The energy waves struck the warship's protective shield, and in just a few moments, they blasted a large hole in the shield that the black-robed man had been unable to breach.

Knowing they were outmatched, the white-robed fleet fled frantically. But the newly joined fleet gave them no chance. The fierce firepower shattered energy shields one after another, and the white-robed fleet was in a sorry state under the suppression of the firepower. One warship after another was hit and fell into the sea, billowing smoke.

The situation on the battlefield reversed instantly. The white-robed man, who had originally held the advantage, was now like prey being hunted, fleeing in all directions.

Chu Wanwan and Si Mingye witnessed all of this, and they felt the cruelty and ruthlessness of war. The formidable strength displayed by the newly joined fleet once again shocked them with the technological prowess of this prehistoric civilization.

As the battle ended, personnel from both the newly joined fleet and the black-robed men's fleet emerged.

From the newly joined fleet emerged a group of men in black robes. They huddled together, murmuring something, then turned and returned to the fleet. The fleet then took off and flew into the distance…

"Could this world only have two forces, black and white?" Chu Wanwan asked, taking out the Tong Gu Jin (a book that connects the past and present).

"Indeed, there are two kinds of people nowadays: dark people who wear black robes and light people who wear white robes. The two races are naturally at odds and fight whenever they meet, mainly because of the differences between the two races."

People with a dark personality prefer a peaceful and prosperous life, and are self-sufficient.

The Light-type people are born brutal and bloodthirsty plunderers. This is determined by their genes, somewhat like what is known in modern society as the Superhuman race. Tong Gujin paused, then continued, "Because the Dark-type people are frequently plundered, they've united. Whenever a city is attacked, nearby cities will come to its aid. Of course, the plundering Light-type people are not pushovers either. I estimate this war will gradually escalate to an uncontrollable point!"
