Chapter 451 Teaching the Art of Talismans

Outside the city walls, swarms of demonic beasts and demons were attacking the city.

On the city walls, soldiers armed with bows and spears are desperately defending against the demons' attack.

However, the human warriors were too weak; their bronze spears bent instantly upon striking the demons. Arrows fired at them did not cause them any harm either.

The warriors were almost in despair, but they had no choice but to persevere, because once these monsters breached the city, the people in the city and they would all be doomed!

The nearest city to them, May 30, has been destroyed! This is a war of slaughter waged by alien races against humanity!

Many warriors were killed by the fire, poison, and arrows that rained down from the sky. Their bodies were thrown into the city, and then another group of warriors came up to die.

They were utterly helpless against these powerful enemies. They didn't even know the point of charging up the city walls to fight them! But they still instinctively rushed up the walls and fought the demons who were attacking.

Perhaps, they just didn't want to die before the people of the city; they just didn't want to see their parents, wives, and children in the city being slaughtered at will by these monsters!

A gigantic, pachycephalosaurus-like monster was ramming the city gate, which teetered precariously on the brink of collapse. The soldiers on the walls were frantic with worry, yet utterly powerless. They could only watch helplessly as the monster continued its assault, their hearts filled with despair.

Upon seeing this, Chu Wanwan immediately leaped down, her hand flashing with light, and unleashed a powerful spell directly at the enormous demonic beast. The beast was blasted into pieces by this sudden attack.

The soldiers on the city wall were overjoyed when they saw Chu Wanwan appear.

"Look! What's that? Could it be the immortals from the legendary sacred mountain?"

"No matter who it is, we're saved!"

"Thank God, thank the immortals!"

When the soldiers and the people in the city saw Chu Wanwan appear, their eyes, which had been filled with despair, regained their spirits.

That person can fly and kill a powerful monster with a single move; he must be a god!

Chu Wanwan swiftly drew a demon-gathering array, causing the demons and beasts that had been attacking the city to freeze in place. Then, the spiritual energy transformed from the demons surged wildly towards Chu Wanwan. Standing within the green vortex, Chu Wanwan resembled a supreme deity.

The demons, who are incredibly powerful and invincible in the eyes of humans, are utterly vulnerable in the eyes of the gods.

Everyone in the city knelt down and kowtowed to Chu Wanwan.

After Chu Wanwan absorbed the spiritual energy, all the demons had turned to ashes.

She landed slowly on the ground, and a man who looked like the city lord walked over. The city lord looked to be in his forties, wearing leather armor and a bronze helmet. He was very respectful and bowed slightly, saying, "Thank you for saving our lives, Immortal. If it weren't for your help, we would probably be doomed today."

"No need for formalities. Just do as I say, and I can guarantee the safety of your city!" Seeing the scale of the demon race, Chu Wanwan knew that the demons were no small fry. This time, their goal was probably to wipe out the human race and use the resentment of the human race to nourish the demon race.

If that's the case, the human realm will likely be plunged into chaos and suffering. She needs to quickly settle things here and then seek help from the immortals. While the gods are powerful, the divine realm also has many demons, and they are all high-level demons, too busy to descend to the mortal realm. The immortal realm, on the other hand, seems quite idle right now!

"Please speak, Immortal!"

The city lord said respectfully.

"First, clear the city and move all the corpses outside to be burned! Second, clean up all the bloodstains in the city! Doing so will prevent the outbreak of plague."

Chu Wanwan gave the instructions.

"Alright! We'll do our best to handle these matters! Please, gods, stay in the city! We're afraid those monsters will attack again; humanity's abilities are simply insufficient to fight them!"

As the city lord spoke, he began to kowtow to Chu Wanwan again.

"I have other matters to attend to and cannot stay here! Do you have any cultivators in your city? Uh... the kind who can exorcise ghosts and subdue demons?"

The city lord was very disappointed to hear that Chu Wanwan could not stay here, but still respectfully replied: "Yes, there are some, and only they have the ability to fight against the monsters! They have killed some monsters, but their numbers are too small to withstand the attack of the monster army."

Chu Wanwan nodded slightly and said, "Gather these cultivators together, and I will teach them some talisman techniques and formations so that they can better fight against the demons."

Upon hearing this, the city lord's disappointment vanished, replaced by delight. He quickly replied, "Thank you, immortal. I will take care of it right away."

Before long, the city lord arrived in front of Chu Wanwan with dozens of cultivators.

These cultivators looked exhausted and were covered in bruises, but their eyes were filled with excitement when they saw Chu Wanwan!

Chu Wanwan looked at them and slowly said, "The demon race is rampant, and the human world is suffering. Today I will teach you some simple talisman techniques and formations, which can temporarily protect the safety of your city."

"Immortal, will you teach us the spell we just used? The spell that can kill so many monsters in one fell swoop?"

They had all seen what Chu Wanwan had just done in mid-air. If they had such magic, what would they have to fear from those monsters!

"The monsters you speak of are demonic beasts and demons of the demon race. These demons are relatively low-level. If you study diligently, you can defeat them yourselves!"

"As for the spell I just cast, it requires life force as support. If others were forced to draw the rune array, they would very likely suffer from qi deviation!"

Chu Wanwan explained.

"Immortal, what kind of magic will you teach us?"

A boy who looked only thirteen or fourteen years old stepped forward and asked.

He was handsome with delicate features, his eyes revealing a resolute and intelligent gaze. Chu Wanwan looked at him, a slight thought stirring in her heart, and said, "I will first teach you a defensive talisman called the 'Vajra Talisman.' This talisman can form a strong protective barrier around you to resist the attacks of the demon race."

Chu Wanwan explained in detail the drawing method and incantation for the Vajra Talisman. The cultivators listened attentively, afraid of missing any detail. After the explanation, Chu Wanwan personally demonstrated the drawing process again.

She slowly and skillfully drew a talisman in the air, and a pale green talisman instantly took shape. The talisman exuded a powerful aura, giving off an aura of unbreakable strength.

"You are all cultivators, possessing spiritual energy, which allows you to create spiritual talismans. Once a talisman is completed, it is equivalent to possessing an indestructible suit of armor, the level of which depends on your cultivation level."

For example, you, at such a young age, are already close to reaching the Immortal Ascension Realm. With this Vajra Talisman protecting you, even an Immortal Ascension Realm expert couldn't break through your protection!

Chu Wanwan looked at the young boy with admiration.

Upon hearing this, the young boy's eyes sparkled. "So, even if a legendary immortal came, they might not be able to harm me?"

"That's what I mean!" Chu Wanwan nodded with a smile.

"Okay! I'll definitely study hard, Ma Liu!!"
