Chapter 102 Now We Have Money for Medical Treatment

With tears in her eyes, Li Shuzhen took the report from her assistant. She never expected that she would be bullied as soon as she went to work today.

"Mr. Li, the doctor said that Miss is fine overall, but the injury to her hand is more serious. She will recover after a while."

Li Shuzhen nodded, "I understand. You go to Tianba's place first. They should still be at the police station."

The assistant nodded, "Yes, Mr. Li. Just call me if you need anything, and I'll be there right away."

Watching her assistant's retreating figure, Li Shuzhen quickly wiped away the tears from the corners of her eyes, took out her phone, carefully checked her appearance, and after confirming that everything was alright, went to Lin Ruanruan's ward.

She went to check if her beloved daughter had woken up, but when Li Shuzhen opened the door, she only saw an empty ward. The IV drip had only been half finished before it was pulled off, and the floor was covered with sunflower petals and stems.

Li Shuzhen's vision went black, and she almost lost her balance. Where was her daughter?

...

"What problem do you hope to resolve today?" A gentle male voice rang out as he calmly gazed at the girl sitting in front of him.

This patient had booked their treatment for this afternoon a week ago, but arrived a little late.

He glanced discreetly at the blood-soaked gauze on the girl's hand, but didn't ask any questions. He patiently waited for the girl in front of him to organize her thoughts.

"I...I seem to be unable to distinguish between reality and falsehood. In my mind..." Lin Ruanruan took a deep breath, her breath trembling slightly, "I feel like I have two selves, one with many experiences and the other as pure as a blank sheet of paper."

She described her situation in detail, and the man opposite her listened attentively.

...

How have your sleep and appetite been lately?

"Great, I feel safe and secure at home. I'm eating well and sleeping well."

How long has this been going on?

"How long?" Lin Ruanruan paused slightly, she didn't know how long it had been either, "It's been a long time..."

Do you find life meaningful?

Lin Ruanruan opened her mouth, then covered her head, her mind filled with a jumble of thoughts, "I...don't know."

"You said you feel safe at home because your family treats you very well, right? What about at school? Do you have any close friends?"

Lin Ruanruan didn't answer; the noise around her just lessened a bit. Her eyes were fixed on the cute ornaments on the man's table, and they shone slightly.

...

As I stepped out of the psychological clinic in the southern suburbs, I was greeted by a fine drizzle—a spring rain.

It was as light and fine as silk, like a damp mist, shapeless and silent, gently caressing the girl's delicate face.

'You don't want your family and friends to know you're sick, right?'

'So you're using your own money to pay for medical treatment?'

'I think you can try to trust your family and friends.'

'You're amazing. You're subconsciously trying to save yourself. Believe in yourself, okay? Accept treatment and you'll get better.'

The psychologist's words were still echoing in her ears. She took out the diagnosis report in her hand, and a faint smile appeared on her lips.

It's just severe bipolar depression, much better than the past life I remember.

She had the same illness in her past life, but she didn't have the money or the ability to pay the average monthly cost of 10,000 yuan.

But now she has it; she can heal herself.

"Ruan Ruan!" a frantic voice rang out.

Lin Ruanruan looked up and saw a black umbrella covering her head, preventing her from getting too close to the spring rain.

The newcomer was breathing heavily. "You, you're really here."

It took Lin Ruanruan a while to react before she could see who it was. "Xuanyuan Haocheng? What are you doing here?"

Xuan Yuan Hao Cheng finally caught his breath. He straightened up and frowned as he looked at the girl in front of him who was getting soaked in the rain. "This morning during class meeting, I saw you search for the South Suburb Building on the map. I guessed you might have come here, so I didn't go to the school or home with them to look for you."

"I thought you'd gone crazy from what you did before, and you didn't even recognize me anymore."

His ward was next to Lin Ruanruan's. He heard Li Shuzhen's voice coming from Lin Ruanruan's ward, so he went out to take a look and found out that Lin Ruanruan had disappeared.

He and Li Shuzhen quickly checked the hospital corridor surveillance footage and found that Lin Ruanruan had left the room on her own, which relieved both of them.

He thought Lin Ruanruan had been kidnapped.

"Oh, I see." Lin Ruanruan smiled slightly.

Xuan Yuan Hao Cheng clearly noticed that something was wrong with Lin Ruan Ruan. "What do you mean 'So that's how it is'? Shouldn't you have said hello to us when you came out? Do you know how worried your aunt was about you?"

"You're out in the rain with an injured hand? Do you think you're too healthy?"

He glanced at the gauze on Lin Ruanruan's hand, which was still visibly bleeding, and noticed the sheet she was holding.

A guess suddenly popped into his head. He slightly raised his eyes and looked at the psychological clinic next to the South Suburb Building. He knew this clinic; the best psychologist in the entire South Province practiced there.

Xuan Yuanhao gave Lin Ruanruan a complicated look and sighed softly, "Come home with me, your aunt and uncle are very worried about you."

Lin Ruanruan nodded, "Shall we wait for the car here?"

"No need, I came in my family's car. Come with me." Xuan Yuan Hao Cheng took Lin Ruan Ruan's hand and got into the car.

He wanted to ask the question several times, but ultimately gave up, afraid of asking something he shouldn't.

Lin Ruanruan snapped out of her reverie, looked at the scenery outside the window, and smiled, "Xuanyuan Haocheng, you're just like the brother I imagined, and my parents are exactly the same as I imagined..."
