Chapter 139 Imprisonment

Fang Lan woke up again on a soft bed, and the aroma of food seemed to waft through the air, making his empty stomach feel a little uncomfortable.

With the slightest movement of his limbs, he heard the crisp sound of chains. Fang Lan stood up somewhat blankly, staring at the chains at his feet in silence.

Isn't this the chained imprisonment and forced love he wrote in his novel?

Why did this happen to him?

Just as Fang Lan was in a daze, the bedroom door was opened, and it was Xu Chaosheng who brought in the food.

Fang Lan then took a moment to observe the room's layout. The room was spacious, with only a large bed and a thick carpet on the floor. Just by looking at it, one could imagine how soft it would feel to step on.

'Whoosh.'

Xu Chaosheng drew back the heavy curtains, and light streamed into the room through the huge French windows.

Fang Lan shielded his eyes with his hand, and only after his eyes adjusted to the light did he look out the window. Outside the window were lush trees, and he could vaguely see birds flying through the forest.

Could this really be a primeval forest?

Fang Lan pursed her lips and looked at Xu Chaosheng, "Um, where is this?"

Xu Chaosheng did not answer Fang Lan's question. He placed the food on the small table that had been set up and held the bowl and spoon as if he was going to feed Fang Lan.

Fang Lan quickly stepped back, saying, "I can do it myself."

Xu Chaosheng looked at Fang Lan in silence for a while, then smiled gently and said, "If you don't want me to handcuff you again, then you'd better behave."

Fang Lan: ...

Fang Lan finally gave in and let Xu Chaosheng feed her.

Surprisingly, the food Xu Chaosheng brought in was quite delicious.

Xu Chaosheng smiled when he saw that Fang Lan enjoyed the food. Fang Lan loved his cooking the most, and he never expected that he would have the chance to cook for her himself.

After confirming that Fang Lan was full, Xu Chaosheng stopped feeding her and put the remaining food into his own mouth.

Fang Lan felt a strange sensation as he watched Xu Chaosheng eat his leftovers. He felt as if Xu Chaosheng had become a different person.

After Xu Chaosheng finished eating, he took the empty bowl and went out. Fang Lan looked at the shackles at her feet and tried to pry them open with her hands.

Hmm, it's really iron, I can't bend it.

Fortunately, the chain was quite long, allowing him to move freely within the room. Looking out at the endless green forest outside the window, Fang Lan felt somewhat distraught.

Has his brother noticed he's missing? Why hasn't he come to rescue him yet?

As the sun set, the dense forest outside the window began to grow eerie, and strange bird calls pounded at Fang Lan's heart.

He had been sitting by the window all afternoon, still unable to understand why Xu Chaosheng had tied him up here.

Xu Chaosheng disappeared after feeding me; I don't know where he went.

As fate would have it, the door that had been closed all afternoon opened, and Xu Chaosheng, reeking of blood, held an ugly-cute doll in his hand.

He handed the doll to Fang Lan, saying, "I remember you liked these weirdly ugly dolls the most."

Fang Lan looked at the doll in her arms and wondered how Xu Chaosheng knew her preferences.

Xu Chaosheng sat next to Fang Lan, looking out the window at the stars. Fang Lan sniffed the air and frowned as he looked at Xu Chaosheng. "You...are you injured?"

Xu Chaosheng smiled faintly and rolled up his long sleeves to cover the wound on his arm. He could only stay conscious by self-harm now.

"I just killed a chicken in the kitchen. I'll make you chicken stew with potatoes tomorrow. I remember that's your favorite dish."

Fang Lan pursed her lips. "How do you know what I like to eat?"

Xu Chaosheng turned to look at Fang Lan seriously, "Of course I know what you like to eat. We used to love each other so much, how could I not know?"

A strange feeling rose from the bottom of her heart again, and Fang Lan chose to keep quiet.

He always felt like he was talking to a brick wall. Was Xu Chaosheng mentally unstable? When did he and Xu Chaosheng ever fall in love?

Ever since Ruan Ruan reminded him that Xu Chaosheng was not a good person, he had long since abandoned those thoughts in his heart.

The key point is that Xu Chaosheng spoke as if it were true. Could it be that he suffered from amnesia?

But that's impossible; he doesn't have any memory gaps. So, has Xu Chaosheng gone mad?

Xu Chaosheng was unaware of Fang Lan's thoughts, but even if he had, he would have simply laughed it off.

Xu Chaosheng picked Fang Lan up, and Fang Lan struggled in his arms, "What are you doing?"

Is he going to lose his chastity today?

Xu Chaosheng placed Fang Lan on the bed, and then lay down himself, hugging Fang Lan from behind like an octopus.

"Don't worry, I won't do anything to you. Just let me hold you and sleep."

Fang Lan tried to break free, but the result was the same: she couldn't. "What makes you so strong? Are you on drugs? How can you be stronger than Xuan Yuan Hao Cheng?"

A hint of a smile appeared in Xu Chaosheng's eyes as he gazed adoringly at the back of Fang Lan's neck. "Of course I'm better than that half-finished product, Xuan Yuan Haocheng."

"A semi-finished product?" Fang Lan felt like she had overheard a secret. "What did you say, a semi-finished product?"

However, he was met with Xu Chaosheng's even breathing in response, "Asleep?"

Fang Lan tried hard to pry open Xu Chaosheng's hands that were holding him, but after trying for a long time, he still failed. He gave up and obediently lay down on the bed.

Finally, unable to resist his sleepiness, he fell asleep. Little did he know that Xu Chaosheng behind him had never closed his eyes.

After Fang Lan fell asleep, Xu Chaosheng quietly released her. He turned Fang Lan so that she was facing him before pulling her into his arms again.

He was definitely stronger than Xuan Yuan Hao Cheng. In his previous life, Xuan Yuan Hao Cheng died at his hands. Huo Xian was pregnant at the time, and Xuan Yuan Hao Cheng tried his best to protect her but failed.
