I never expected that a big guy like Lin Tianba would have such a well-behaved and cute daughter.
Lin Ruanruan smiled obediently. Fang's mother had always wanted a daughter, but unfortunately, she had two sons, one of whom was quite a handful. Now, seeing such a well-behaved girl, she couldn't resist.
"Ruanruan is a really nice name. Come on, let Auntie take you inside to rest for a bit."
"Then I'll tell Uncle Wang who's waiting for me~" Lin Ruanruan thought of her hardworking and dutiful Uncle Wang.
The butler smiled kindly from the side, "Miss Lin, don't worry, I've already made the arrangements."
Lin Ruanruan looked at the butler with admiration, feeling that this butler was even more capable than the Huo family's butler uncle.
The butler smiled silently, keeping his merits and fame hidden.
Fang's mother and father, all smiles, led Lin Ruanruan into the house, showing no trace of their fierce demeanor from just moments before.
Fang Lan followed behind. Since his own sister Ruan Jie had been taken hostage, what could he do but follow along?
When Mr. and Mrs. Fang brought Lin Ruanruan into the living room, Fang Si was reading a book.
Sunlight danced through the window lattice, and Fang Si, sitting in a rosewood chair, looked like a scholar from ancient times.
The Fang residence and the Huo residence are two completely different styles. The Huo residence is more modern and European, while the Fang residence is a real ancient mansion with artificial hills and trees all along the way.
It's obvious at a glance that the homeowner had consulted a feng shui master to arrange the layout, as every plant and tree was meticulously arranged.
Lin Ruanruan was so engrossed in the sights along the way that she didn't even realize it until she saw Fang Si sitting in the hall.
Fang Si saw his father and mother rush out in a huff and then come back in laughing and talking, and raised an eyebrow at them.
Then I saw my mother leading a cute little girl who looked like an elf.
The girl must have just finished exercising; her hair was still a little damp, and her almond-shaped eyes, clear and bright, were very expressive with their wetness.
"Mom and Dad, where did you find this little cutie?" Fang Si closed the book, picked up the teapot beside him, took out a clean silver cup and poured tea.
He handed it to Lin Ruanruan, who politely accepted it, saying, "Thank you, brother."
Fang Si's smile deepened. "Try it, it's freshly soaked brick tea."
Although Lin Ruanruan didn't know much about tea, this cup of tea had a unique aroma and a reddish-yellow liquor. It was rich and delicious, with a lingering sweet aftertaste.
"It's delicious, even better than Dad's tea!"
Fang's mother was extremely fond of Lin Ruanruan's adoring appearance. "What's so great about tea? I had someone make you some fruit tea. Girls should eat something sweet and sour to cool off in the summer."
Lin Ruanruan nodded obediently, then looked at Fang Lan standing to the side. Fang Lan was expressionless, and Lin Ruanruan really couldn't read any expression on that pig-faced face.
Looking at Fang Lan's face, which was covered in purple and red patches, and black streaks that had somehow gotten there, she looked like a dirty little pig.
Looking at the pitiful Fang Lan, and then at the three people pretending not to see her, Lin Ruanruan pursed her lips and mentally cheered herself up.
"Auntie, Fang Lan's injury is quite serious. I brought some medicine; please apply it to him first."
Fang's mother paused, looked at the pitiful Fang Lan, and wanted to say that she didn't need to care about this brat, but she was afraid of scaring Ruan Ruan.
"Alright, uncle, help the young master get ready."
The butler quickly responded and led Fang Lan towards the back courtyard.
Fang Lan and Lin Ruanruan exchanged a glance. Lin Ruanruan gave him an encouraging look, while Fang Lan stared blankly. He thought to himself, "I guess I'm not their biological son."
Seeing Fang Lan leave, Lin Ruanruan turned to Fang's mother and said, "Auntie, Fang Lan is usually very well-behaved at school, has good grades, and listens to his teachers. Why would you hit him?"
Okay, the truth is they watch adult content right under the teacher's nose every day and don't listen to the teacher. They almost got their parents called in for playing games, but Fang Lan had to use her persuasive skills to plead for them and avoid having their parents called in.
But could Lin Ruanruan say it? She couldn't, otherwise Fang Lan would really die.
Sitting opposite him, Fang Si seemed to have heard a joke and couldn't help but raise his hand, clench his fist, and cover his lips. "Fang Lan is obedient? I didn't know he had two faces."
Lin Ruanruan could only smile; she dared not say anything.
Fang's mother placed the fruit platter and fruit tea brought by the maid next to Lin Ruanruan, and put a straw in the fruit tea for her to drink.
"Sigh, Ruanruan must know about Fang Lan's situation, right?"
Lin Ruanruan looked up at Fang's mother with a puzzled expression. Could it be that Fang Lan had a terminal illness?
