Chapter 3 Enjoying a Happy Meal

Upon arrival at the hospital, Lin Ruanruan was greeted by dedicated staff who took her for examinations, while her parents stayed by her side the whole time.

After having several X-rays taken and undergoing various other tests, Lin Ruanruan felt dizzy and disoriented.

After finally meeting the legendary Dr. Su, Dr. Su carefully examined the large lump on the back of Lin Ruanruan's head, and combined it with the brain CT scan that had just been taken, he murmured "miracle".

Mr. and Mrs. Lin held hands tightly, their eyes fixed on Dr. Su. After completing her diagnosis, Dr. Su looked up and saw the two anxious parents.

He gave a professional smile and reassured her, "Mrs. Lin, don't worry. The blood clot in your daughter's brain has dissipated. The most serious thing on her body now is the big bump from the fall."

Lin's mother looked at her daughter with concern, "But Dr. Su, why is my precious daughter so listless right now?"

Seeing how weak he looked, Lin's mother wanted Dr. Su to examine him more thoroughly.

Dr. Su adjusted her gold-rimmed glasses and smiled helplessly. These two were just too worried. "She's been very emotional today and has had so many tests done. She deserves a rest."

Lin Ruanruan nodded cutely beside her. So many things had happened today. She was exhausted after her soul had just returned to its place, and her head was throbbing.

Lin's parents were somewhat relieved and finally followed Dr. Su's advice to stay in the hospital for two days to determine the situation. They would then undergo some detailed brain examinations the next day to confirm that Lin Ruanruan would not relapse or have any sequelae.

While things were peaceful in the Lin family, a good show was unfolding in the Huo family.

Huo Qi intercepted Lili and her group's tools of the crime and indeed detected drug components inside. However, it was not the potent laxative that Lin Ruanruan had mentioned, but rather a drug containing aphrodisiac ingredients.

He called the police immediately. Although the perpetrators were a group of underage girls and the crime was unsuccessful, they could not be punished much.

But it's shameful enough, and it's not just them who suffer, but also their families.

The Huo family isn't exactly a saint in the business world. When the police came knocking and took away those pampered young ladies, their parents were completely bewildered.

They never imagined that their daughter would run wild on the Huo family's territory and frame Huo Xian, the Huo family's little princess.

Meanwhile, Huo Qi's men intercepted Huo Momo, who was hiding in the shadows. Huo Momo realized something was wrong and was trying to leave, but she was turned around and brought in front of the Huo family.

Huo Qi had already told Huo's father everything, but Huo's mother was still keeping it from her, since Huo's mother had a heart condition and they were afraid that it would upset her.

Mr. Huo, the head of the Huo family, never imagined that his seemingly well-behaved adopted daughter could be so vicious. But the facts were right in front of him, and no matter how much he disbelieved it, he had to face reality.

Thinking of his wife gave him a headache, and he knew how much Huo's mother valued Huo Momo. Looking at Huo Momo struggling before him, Huo's father said sternly, "Huo Momo, do you know what you're doing!"

Huo Momo panicked for a moment, then stiffened her neck and said, "I don't know anything. It was Zheng Zhaodi and the others who couldn't stand Huo Xian bullying me, so they wanted to help me get revenge."

Huo Qi scoffed, "They bought laxatives, and you just switched them with aphrodisiacs, and even arranged for someone to be in the room. How come I didn't know you were so capable? Huo Momo."

"And can you even describe how Huo Xian bullied you?"

Huo Momo's face paled. She wanted to explain herself, but then a gentle female voice came from behind her, "What are you doing?"

The person who came was Huo's mother. Huo Momo's eyes lit up and she immediately turned her head. When she saw the graceful young girl standing next to Huo's mother, a trace of jealousy and resentment flashed in her eyes.

Although she immediately hid, how could she possibly escape the shrewd people present?

Mrs. Huo saw it too, and she sighed inwardly. Momo used to be such a good child.

Could it be that she's been focusing too much on her long-lost biological daughter and neglecting Momo lately? At this moment, she has no idea how outrageous Huo Momo has been.

Huo Momo didn't care about anything else. She said pitifully, "Mom, I didn't do anything. My older brother misunderstood me."

She squeezed out two tears, looking incredibly pitiful. "They hurt me so much when they grabbed me."

"Let go of Momo." After all, she had watched over the child for so many years, and Huo's mother couldn't bear it. "No matter what she did, let's give her another chance."

Huo Qi stood up. "Mom, do you know what Huo Momo did? She..."

"Qi!" Mr. Huo scolded sternly. Mrs. Huo had a heart condition, and he couldn't bear to see her suffer any further stress.

Huo Qi knew that this matter was going to end without a trace. He exchanged a glance with his father, who shook his head at him. He clicked his tongue, then simply took Huo Xian's hand and left.

Huo Xian, who was being led away, looked indifferent, as if everything here had nothing to do with her. She glanced indifferently at the disheveled Huo Momo, which almost made Huo Momo lose her composure again.

She resented Huo Xian in her heart for coming back and for taking her things.

Mrs. Huo looked at Mr. Huo and said softly, "I'll take Momo back first." She simply assumed that Momo was just causing trouble again, just like before.

After a moment of silence, Mr. Huo nodded. He would give Huo Momo a good talking-to when they got back and send her abroad. She was just too much of a troublemaker; if it weren't for his wife protecting her, he would have sent her back long ago.

Later at the banquet, Mr. Huo solemnly introduced their daughter, Huo Xian. Everyone present felt the Huo family's high regard for their long-lost daughter.

Lin Ruanruan only learned how lively the Huo family had been the day before when she was playing on her phone the next day. The headline was highlighted in big red letters: "Police break into Huo family at night and arrest underage girl," followed by several images with their faces blurred.
