Chapter 49 Reputation Damaged

No matter how unwilling Lin Ruanruan and Xuanyuan Haocheng were, their positions were still changed.

Fang Lan and Huo Xian both felt good.

Fang Lan thought Huo Xian was pretty good too. She was a simple and hardworking girl. Although being her deskmate wasn't as fun as being with Lin Ruanruan, it was still nice.

Huo Xian found Fang Lan quite interesting, as she would explain many popular terms that Huo Xian didn't understand, and this deskmate was acceptable to Huo Xian.

After his initial reluctance, Xuan Yuan Hao Cheng came to his senses. After all, he had discovered Fang Lan's sexual orientation, and having him as Xian Xian's deskmate was better than having Lin Ruan Ruan, a formidable rival, as her deskmate.

Lin Ruanruan looked sadly out the window. She felt that she could be deskmate with anyone but Xuan Yuanhaocheng.

As expected, practice is the sole criterion for testing truth. It turns out that the chilling aura in domineering CEO novels is real; she was practically frozen to death (psychologically).

Lin Ruanruan's depressed mood didn't improve until lunchtime.

She ate her sweet and sour pork ribs and thought optimistically that it would be easy for her to ask Xianxian and Fang Lan if she had any questions, since they were just sitting at the same table.

As for the aloof Xuan Yuan Hao Cheng, he's nothing to fear; at worst, she can just wear more clothes in this sweltering heat.

After calming herself down, Lin Ruanruan noticed that people kept passing by their booth. She looked at the men and women passing by with a puzzled expression.

They chose a corner seat, a spot that few people usually get to sit in.

She was very sensitive to people's gazes, and she could clearly feel that everyone's eyes were looking in their direction.

Looking up at the girls at the table not far away, they saw that the girls were also looking at them, but their gaze was on Huo Xian.

The girl next to her noticed Lin Ruanruan looking over and patted her, indicating that they had been discovered. The girl then pursed her lips and said something to the girl next to her with a half-smile.

A group of people burst into laughter, though it was unclear what they were saying that was so funny.

Lin Ruanruan gripped her chopsticks tightly; her intuition told her that these girls definitely hadn't said anything nice.

Similar situations were happening around them. Lin Ruanruan glanced around and even noticed a boy secretly taking pictures of Huo Xian with his phone while joking with the boy next to him.

Lin Ruanruan took a deep breath and clenched her fist.

She stood up abruptly, blocking Huo Xian's view, and looked at the boy, demanding, "What are you filming?!"

Huo Xian, who was eating seriously, was startled. She quickly looked at Lin Ruanruan and was surprised to find that Lin Ruanruan was trembling.

Fang Lan quickly stood next to Lin Ruanruan; he had also noticed that something was off about these people.

But he didn't get any useful information from the gossip group, since the gossip group in the second year of high school was full of rumors about him and Ruan Ruan.

The boy seemed a little embarrassed. He put down his phone and, as if he hadn't done anything, started eating the food in front of him, completely ignoring Lin Ruanruan.

"I'm asking you, what were you filming just now!" Lin Ruanruan shouted, unable to contain herself, her eyes reddening.

Fang Lan quickly grasped Lin Ruanruan's hand, "It's okay, I'll take care of it."

Huo Xian quickly got up and took Lin Ruanruan's hand. She was not quite sure what had happened. "What's wrong with Ruanruan?"

Huo Xian then noticed that Lin Ruanruan's eyes were a little red, and she was taken aback. This was the first time she had ever seen Ruanruan look angry.

This didn't happen when I was bullied by Han Jin and the others at the amusement park.

Fang Lan stood directly in front of the boy's desk, her expression indifferent. "Hey, take out your phone."

The boy continued to pretend he hadn't heard, but Fang Lan took out her phone and took a picture of him. "So you're a senior from Class 4 of Senior Three. What, you dare to do it but not admit it?"

Fang Lan read directly from the nameplate on the other person's chest, "I'll post you on the campus website right now and say you took pictures of girls without their consent."

The boy slammed his chopsticks down, stood up, and yelled at Fang Lan, his face flushed and neck red, "Delete the photos you took!"

His classmate also stood up, glancing sideways at Fang Lan, "Didn't Miss Huo buy herself a trending topic? We're curious and want to see just how beautiful Miss Huo really is."

Laughter erupted around them, and the girls at the table who had been watching Huo Xian earlier exclaimed, "This is the first time I've ever seen someone buy trending topics like this; it's all mindless praise!"

"Exactly, they've started bringing up things like celestial beings descending to earth and incredibly beautiful girls that are a once-in-ten-thousand-years beauty."

"Could it be that he's trying to enter the entertainment industry to promote himself?"

"That's disgusting. It's one thing to say you're pretty, but to say that all the other girls at our prestigious international school are ugly is another story."

The girl glared at Huo Xian, "You boast that you're fine, but why drag others down with you?"

"Now that I think about it, she's nothing special. She even claimed to be the most beautiful girl in ten thousand years!"

The girls exchanged glances and rolled their eyes.

The boy who secretly took photos of Huo Xian also spoke up, "My girlfriend is the prettiest art student in the special admission class, but Huo Xian specifically named her and said she's ugly!"

"How can I swallow this insult? And you still have the nerve to come here and question me?"

Huo Xian pursed her lips. "I've never bought any trending topics, nor have I ever belittled anyone in the school!"

The boy spat out, "Who the hell would believe that!"

"A village woman from the mountains is just too short-sighted!"

The other onlookers nearby also clearly didn't believe it.

Lin Ruanruan stood in front of Huo Xian, "She didn't do it! How could the Huo family buy such obviously fake trending topics? Someone is trying to frame Huo Xian!"

Before Lin Ruanruan could finish yelling, Xuan Yuanhao rushed over, intending to punch the boy who had slandered Huo Xian on the head. Fang Lan quickly intervened to stop the fight.
