Fang Lan was unaware of his mother's complaints about him; he had already found the corner where Lin Ruanruan was.
He glanced around and gave Lin Ruanruan an approving look. He thought to himself, "As expected of my Ruanruan-jie, she found this place so secluded." He then plopped down in his seat, completely slumping without any regard for his image.
He's been feeling incredibly stifled lately. During the Lunar New Year, he's been pretending to be obedient and well-behaved every day while meeting all the big shots who come to the old house. He's like a dish being passed around in front of everyone.
Lin Ruanruan glanced curiously at Fang Lan's lifeless appearance and said, "You look like you've been completely drained."
Fang Lan tearfully pulled out her phone, "It's more than that! I've only been able to take out my phone to look at it since yesterday. Do you know how I've been these past few days?"
"Come on, Sister Ruan, play games with me and take care of my young and wounded heart."
Lin Ruanruan cooperated and started a 5V5 game, only to find Fang Lan staring blankly at the game's chat interface.
"What’s wrong with you?"
Lin Ruanruan leaned closer to see what Fang Lan was looking at, but Fang Lan immediately switched the chat interface to the hero interface.
He coughed and explained, "It was my dad's teenage years who sent me some messages, asking if my phone had been confiscated."
"You mean Brother Li Qin?" Lin Ruanruan nodded. "Speaking of him, I have something to share with you."
Seeing Fang Lan looking over, she immediately told Fang Lan about Xu Yelu framing Li Xueer, being sentenced the next day, and that Li Xueer was Li Qin's sister.
Fang Lan was completely dizzy. "My phone was only confiscated for a little over ten days, how could so many things have happened?"
He really didn't know that Xu Yelu had been sentenced. He had been living a very fulfilling life these days. Ms. Huang didn't give him any free time at all and walked him around like a pet every day.
"And the beauty blogger you're close to is Li Qin's sister?"
Lin Ruanruan nodded. "Don't you think it's a particularly coincidental thing?"
"And Sister Xue'er and Brother Li Qin are coming today too~"
Fang Lan's expression froze slightly, and the tips of her ears turned a little red. "They're coming?"
"Hmm." Lin Ruanruan noticed that Fang Lan's face was a little red. "Are you feeling suffocated? Your face is a little red."
Fang Lan snapped out of her daze, took some snacks from Lin Ruanruan's plate and stuffed them into her mouth. "It was a bit hot when we came in, but it'll be fine in a bit."
Lin Ruanruan carefully examined Fang Lan and, after confirming that he was alright, shared with him the interesting things that had happened at her grandparents' house these past few days.
Fang Lan's eyes lit up at this, and he couldn't help but complain to himself that his brother didn't include him in the fun. "Sister Ruan, next holiday, please pack me in your suitcase and take me back to our hometown. I want to play too!"
"Next time you should come with Xianxian and the others. Xianxian got tricked by Brother Huo too," Lin Ruanruan said with a smile.
Fang Lan couldn't help but sigh, "We're all in the same boat."
Even sitting in the corner, the handsome young man and the sweet and playful young woman still attracted attention.
Xu Chaomu's gaze lingered on the girl's fair neck, and he swallowed hard. "She's quite a beauty."
He looked at his younger brother beside him and asked, "Whose daughter is that?"
Xu Chaosheng's eyes followed Fang Lan as soon as he entered, so he naturally knew who his older brother was asking about. "Lin Tianba's daughter, Lin Ruanruan. She was mentally impaired for 16 years, but suddenly recovered last summer."
"Oh~" Xu Chaomu smiled and shifted his gaze. He walked up to Huo's father and started chatting as if he hadn't asked anything before.
Lin Ruanruan was sharing things with Fang Lan when she suddenly felt a chill run through her body. She immediately stopped, but the feeling came and went quickly.
Fang Lan looked at Lin Ruanruan, who had suddenly stopped, with some confusion. "Ruanruan, what's wrong?"
Lin Ruanruan shook her head and looked around the room, but didn't find anything strange. Just as she looked away, she suddenly met the gaze of Xu Chaosheng, who was walking towards them.
The other person nodded to her, and Lin Ruanruan felt a chill run down her spine. Why was this person out again?
Fang Lan followed Lin Ruanruan's gaze and his body stiffened. He simply remembered the outrageous gossip about the three of them circulating in their high school gossip group.
Xu Chaosheng didn't notice anything unusual about the two of them. He sat down next to Fang Lan and said, "Junior, we meet again."
Fang Lan frowned, disliking Xu Chaosheng's close proximity. "Senior, I remember you seemed to have committed a crime before, right?"
It was settled so quickly?
Xu Chaosheng's face darkened. He hadn't expected Fang Lan to bring up such a sensitive topic, but the identity Fang Lan had just revealed made him suppress his temper.
He smiled brightly, "Junior, those are all misunderstandings."
His gaze was fixed on Fang Lan's face, a dark look in his eyes. He wondered how his junior was feeling.
The other party's family background also suited him well.
Lin Ruanruan felt very uncomfortable with the way Xu Chaosheng looked at Fang Lan, but Fang Lan didn't seem to notice.
She immediately pulled Fang Lan to her feet, saying, "Fang Lan, Xianxian should be coming in soon, let's go find her!"
Fang Lan nodded and put her phone in her pocket. "Senior, we have something to do, so we won't chat with you anymore."
Xu Chaosheng raised an eyebrow and stood up as well. "Don't be so formal. We're classmates after all. Let's go together."
"To be honest, I've never really had a proper chat with junior sister Huo Xian before. Now I can finally get to know her properly."
Lin Ruanruan pursed her lips; she had underestimated Xu Chaosheng's shamelessness.
Just as the three were walking out, someone came and blocked their way.
Fang Lan tilted her head in confusion as she looked at the person in front of her. "Miss, do we know each other?"
Huo Jianjian was surprised to find that the boy standing next to Lin Ruanruan was so handsome, and her face turned slightly red. She and Liang Yin'er were in another direction and did not see Fang Lan and Huang Min taking their seats.
