Chapter 88 The Birth of Lin Duidui

"Miss Liang, I'm not trying to be mean," Lin Ruanruan said, standing opposite the group of young ladies. To be honest, she was a little nervous standing in front of so many people, just like being called up to the stage by a teacher to recite a text in front of all the students.

"You're almost thirty, aren't you ashamed to hang out with girls in their teens and early twenties?"

"I'm not saying it's shameful to hang out with younger girls, but the rich heiresses who are your age are either successful in their careers or have happy marriages, while you're so old and still acting like a child, not working and just sponging off your parents every day."

"I'm ashamed even more than you are. Besides, you wanted to squeeze into the circle of your peers but they ignored you, so you can only seek a sense of existence from young girls and even resorted to bullying."

"They even dared to think they could marry into the Huo family, but no, would they even want to be with someone as old as you who doesn't work and just sponges off his parents, or would they want to be with your father who's a human trafficker?"

Lin Ruanruan's words pierced Liang Yin'er's heart like needles. She clenched her skirt and glared fiercely at Lin Ruanruan. After hearing the last sentence, she couldn't hold back anymore, "My dad was framed! He was deceived!"

Lin Ruanruan took a deep breath. "Framed? He's already been sentenced, and you're saying he was framed? Your father did such a heinous thing, profiting from people's suffering, and you think you can just dismiss it with a 'framed' and 'deceived' statement?"

Lin Ruanruan was also getting carried away and blurted out everything she knew. She hated human traffickers more than anything else in her life, and she loathed the Liang family, who were involved in human trafficking and yet wanted to maintain a virtuous image.

She didn't believe that only Liang Yin'er's father was involved in this matter; he was just a scapegoat pushed out by the Liang family.

The group of young ladies stared at Liang Yin'er in astonishment. They had recently heard that Liang Yin'er's father had committed a crime, and they all thought it was tax evasion. But that was not the case at all.

What gives Liang Yin'er the audacity to act so arrogantly in front of them? She has always relied on the Liang family behind her to bully them, and now they're telling them that Liang Yin'er's father was actually imprisoned for human trafficking.

For a moment, the young ladies exchanged knowing glances, trying to confirm the truth of the matter. Judging from Liang Yin'er's dismayed expression, it seemed the news was most likely true.

The Li family's daughter, who had been sold off by Liang Yin'er, couldn't help but laugh. She looked at Liang Yin'er in the main seat with a mocking expression, "Sister Yin'er, you told me not long ago that you would put in a good word for our family with your father so that we could win the building project. But your father ended up in jail?"

"So how are you going to put in a good word for me? Will you say so when you visit me in prison?"

The young ladies who were close to her couldn't help but laugh out loud. "Sister Yin'er just said that she could marry into the Huo family this year. It turns out she was just talking big."

"I knew it! How could someone as handsome as the eldest son of the Huo family be interested in her? Turns out he wasn't interested at all."

"I just found out that the Liang family wasn't invited today. I mean, I only saw Liang Yin'er today, and I didn't see any other members of the Liang family."

"Sister Yin'er's skin is a bit thick, isn't it..."

The Li family's daughter quickly spoke up, "Don't talk about our sister Yin'er like that. She's already heartbroken enough about her failed plastic surgery. If you talk about her like that now, she'll cry."

She secretly rolled her eyes at Liang Yin'er. She had disliked her for a long time. If the Liang family hadn't been a big player in the construction industry, she wouldn't have followed her around trying to curry favor.

Lin Ruanruan raised an eyebrow slightly as she looked at Liang Yin'er, who was being pushed around by everyone when she was down. She thought Liang Yin'er was going to confront a group of people, but it turned out that these people didn't have much genuine affection for her at all; they were all just fake friends.

Well, that's it. She didn't even need to say anything more; Liang Yin'er was already furious with her best friend.

Huo Qi and Huo Xian also arrived at the private room at this time. The two siblings looked at Liang Yin'er, who was being ridiculed by everyone, and then looked at Lin Ruanruan and Fang Lan, who were watching the show.

Huo Qi and Huo Xian: It seems we don't need their help?

Huo Qi frowned as he looked at Xu Chaosheng standing next to the two of them. What was this kid doing here?

Xu Chaosheng noticed Huo Qi looking at him, so he smiled and nodded in greeting. Huo Qi had already composed himself when Xu Chaosheng turned his head, and he greeted Xu Chaosheng gently.

Unable to bear the harassment from everyone, Liang Yin'er stood up and rushed out, pouring a glass of red wine directly onto Lin Ruanruan's head. Huo Qi tried to stop her, but it was too late.

"No matter what, my Liang family is still better than your Lin family, you nouveau riche. What right do you, a peasant's child, have to ride on my head!"

Liang Yin'er wanted to scold Lin Ruanruan again when she saw her disheveled face, but Huo Qi and Huo Xian pushed her aside and quickly took tissues to wipe Lin Ruanruan's face.

Lin Ruanruan was completely dumbfounded. She hadn't expected Liang Yin'er to be so agile despite her large size, and that she hadn't even managed to dodge her.

Fang Lan was furious. How dare they bully Lin Ruanruan in front of him! He immediately followed suit and grabbed a glass of red wine from the table and sprayed it all over Liang Yin'er.

Liang Yin'er couldn't help but scream, "Do you know how expensive my clothes are?! Can you afford to pay for them?!"

Lin Ruanruan looked at the screaming Liang Yin'er and said calmly, "My dress is a haute couture fairy dress worth 850,000 yuan. Now that you've ruined it, you'll have to pay for it."

Liang Yin'er was incredulous. "What did you say? This is just a dress you rented, why should I pay for it?"

Before Lin Ruanruan could even retort, Huo Qi couldn't take it anymore. How dare they bully his little rabbit right under his nose, as if he didn't exist?

“Sister Liang… don’t assume that just because you’re wearing a rented dress, Ruan Ruan’s clothes are also rented.”
