For the past few days since playing the game, Xuan Yuan Hao Cheng has been staying at the Lin family's house, which even he finds unbelievable. He finds it more comfortable staying at the Lin family's house than at the Xuan Yuan family's house.
Just as Lin Ruanruan said, Lin Tianba and Li Shuzhen dote on their child. They respect the child's private space and do not force the child to do anything.
They were also very open-minded. Lin Tianba and Li Shuzhen knew that Lin Ruanruan was a small-time streamer on Douyin. They were very supportive of her and did not stop her from doing so, nor did they think that Lin Ruanruan was wasting her study time.
In their view, as long as Lin Ruanruan is healthy and happy, everything else is negotiable.
Of course, there is one thing that is not very good.
Xuan Yuanhao was sitting in the living room reading a book when he heard footsteps coming from the stairs behind him.
He didn't need to turn around to know who had come downstairs. After all, Li Shuzhen and Lin Tianba had already gone out, and the Lin family's housekeeper was still on vacation, so only he and Lin Ruanruan were at home.
"Good morning, Xuan Yuan Hao Cheng," Lin Ruanruan greeted him with her eyes half-closed.
Xuan Yuan Hao Cheng glanced at her helplessly. "It's almost noon, and you're only now getting up to eat breakfast."
Lin Ruanruan rubbed her eyes and chuckled, "I slept so comfortably."
"Go eat, everything's warmed up for you. The milk's on the table, just drink it." Xuan Yuan Hao Cheng refocused his gaze on the book; he never thought he'd have a day when someone had to worry about him.
As expected, his Xianxian is the best; she's diligent and sensible.
So it's not good for Li Shuzhen and Lin Tianba to spoil the child too much. On his first day there, Lin Ruanruan was dragged out of bed by Li Shuzhen during breakfast.
For the next few days, Lin Ruanruan slept until noon every day, even though she went to bed quite early every day. She didn't know where she got so much sleep.
Lin Ruanruan responded vaguely. She had a feeling that there was another person in the family taking care of her, but it must be her imagination.
After finishing breakfast, Lin Ruanruan came back to life. She sat opposite Xuan Yuanhaocheng with her laptop, editing the footage she had accumulated over the past few days.
Neither of them spoke, and for a moment the only sounds in the living room were Lin Ruanruan's typing on the keyboard and Xuan Yuanhaocheng's occasional crisp sound of turning pages in a book.
The atmosphere was harmonious and warm for a moment.
This is the scene that Li Shuzhen saw when she returned. Her return made Xuan Yuan Hao Cheng and Lin Ruan Ruan raise their heads.
Xuan Yuan Hao Cheng smiled slightly, "Auntie is back so early today?"
Lin Ruanruan happily went forward to give Li Shuzhen a bear hug, but then realized that Li Shuzhen was carrying something, so she could only link arms with her instead. "Mom, what did you bring? Is it an insulated bag? Is it food?"
Li Shuzhen nodded with a smile, "Yes, these are fresh vegetables that I just packed from Li Ji. I guessed you two hadn't eaten yet, so I ordered them especially for you."
Lin Ruanruan immediately took the insulated bag from Li Shuzhen's hand, "I want to eat, I want to eat, Li Ji's dishes are all especially delicious."
While Lin Ruanruan was setting the table, Li Shuzhen patted Xuan Yuan Haocheng on the shoulder and said, "Haocheng, your mother might send someone to look for you in the next few days."
Li Shuzhen looked worried. "Auntie's advice to you is to stay here and live well. Auntie knows you're a good child. If you feel uncomfortable, just tell us. If you feel uncomfortable talking to us adults, then share it with Ruan Ruan and Xian Xian."
"Don't overthink it. Treat this place like your own home. Your brother will feel much more at ease if you stay here. Besides, your brother specifically told us about this, so don't be shy, okay?"
Xuan Yuanhao nodded, "I know, Auntie, just don't find me annoying."
“You silly child,” Li Shuzhen said, feigning anger, “You’re so sensible that your uncle and I are too happy to find you annoying.”
She pushed Xuan Yuan Hao Cheng's back, "Come on, let's go eat with Ruan Ruan."
Li Shuzhen sat to the side watching the two eat, her eyes crinkling with a smile. "You two really do look like siblings."
Lin Ruanruan looked up at her mother in confusion. When did she and Xuan Yuanhaocheng, this cold block of ice, start to act like siblings?
"Don't you believe me? Look at you, you don't talk much outside; you don't like going out either; you're all the type to be completely absorbed when you're focused; and you're all quite good-looking." Li Shuzhen was also very pleased when talking about looks, as Ruanruan was just like her, pretty.
Lin Ruanruan coughed. She felt that her mother's summary was problematic. "Mom, I admit that I'm oblivious to what's going on around me; but I don't like to talk because I'm socially awkward, while he's just aloof; I don't like to go out because I prefer to stay at home, while he's afraid of trouble, okay?"
That's terrifying! Her mother actually said she has a personality similar to an ice cube.
Xuan Yuan Hao Cheng handed Lin Ruan Ruan a glass of water, his tone slightly disdainful, "Don't talk when you have food in your mouth, drink some water to calm down."
The food almost sprayed all over his face!
Lin Ruanruan silently took the water and drank it all in one gulp. She felt something was off. Why did she always feel that everyone in her family was suppressing her?
Li Shuzhen couldn't help but laugh. The more she looked at them, the more they resembled siblings. "If Haocheng were really my son, that would be great. I already have Ruanruan, which is enough to make people envious. If I had Haocheng too, I could walk sideways in the circle of wealthy women."
Lin Ruanruan obediently swallowed what was in her mouth. She shook her head and said, "Mom, you can't be too greedy. If you are, you won't have any friends."
A smile couldn't help but flash in Xuan Yuanhao's eyes; it was only at the Lin family's house that he truly felt at home.
His memories before the age of 5 are hazy; he only remembers that he was a ticking time bomb back then. From the age of 5 to 16, he lived a simple and austere life in the mountains, cultivating his mind. It wasn't until he met Xianxian that he realized he also had feelings of joy.
