Chapter 11: With a knife across the evil woman’s neck, no one will survive today!

Chapter 11: With a knife across the evil woman’s neck, no one will survive today!

Why a backdoor? The sinister plots of her past life flashed through her mind, those shady deals, those dirty deeds... Could they... could they...

A terrible thought struck her like a bolt of lightning!

*Da Ya!*

Her blood instantly ran cold.

"Comber!" She let out a shrill scream, and without caring about the people in the yard, she turned around and rushed to the backyard.

As she passed the kitchen door where miscellaneous items were piled up, she caught a glimpse of the greasy, thick-backed kitchen knife used for chopping bones on the chopping board.

Without any hesitation, she picked up the kitchen knife and walked without stopping.

Hearing her terrified scream, Chen Kangbo's heart tightened, and he ignored the pain in his body. He suddenly broke free from his brother who was still symbolically holding him down, and followed him like crazy. When he saw the shiny kitchen knife in Feng Lan's hand, he knew something must have happened again!

Feng Lan kicked open Daya's small and dark woodshed, and the scene before her made her blood freeze instantly.

My daughter, Daya, fell limply on the bed, unconscious. A short, fat, greasy man was rubbing his hands and walking towards the bed with a lewd smile on his face. His dirty hands were about to touch my daughter's clothes.

"brute!"

These two words seemed to be torn out from Feng Lan's chest, carrying blood and fire, and filled with destructive hatred.

The man was frightened by the roar and turned around suddenly.

What he saw were a pair of eyes burning with flames, a face distorted by extreme anger, and... a kitchen knife held high, flashing coldly in the dim light.

The lewd smile on the man's face froze instantly, then shattered. He was a scoundrel who only took advantage of the weak. How could he have witnessed such a scene, like the devils of hell demanding his life? The pure, desperate murderous aura emanating from Feng Lan shattered his heart.

His legs instantly softened like noodles, and a foul-smelling stream of liquid flowed uncontrollably down his trouser legs, leaving a small dark stain on the ground. He let out a strange cry, stumbled, and fell to the ground, shaking like a sieve.

At that moment, Chen Kangbo rushed in. He took in the scene inside: his unconscious daughter, the man who had wet his pants, and his wife, armed with a weapon. The rage he had suppressed all day suddenly exploded!

He rushed forward, grabbed the man's collar like an eagle catching a chick, and lifted him up from the ground. Then, he threw a powerful right hook, hitting the man's chin hard.

The man didn't even have time to scream before his head suddenly tilted back and he fainted.

"Let's go! To the village headman's house!" Chen Kangbo's roar echoed in the small room. He dragged the muddy Tian Laosan with him and strode out. "Today I'm going to show the whole village what kind of people you Chen family are, worse than pigs and dogs!"

Feng Lan quickly stepped forward, checked Daya's breath, and finally breathed a sigh of relief, confirming that her daughter had simply fainted. She gripped the kitchen knife tightly in her hand, turned around, and followed her husband, her eyes as cold as a knife.

The huge commotion here alarmed everyone in the Chen family. They rushed out of the house and saw Chen Kangbo dragging a strange man, Feng Lan following behind with a knife. The couple walked out of the yard with murderous looks on their faces, and their faces were pale.

Meanwhile, Mrs. Chen was humming a tune as she walked back home carrying a fat hen she had just bought from a neighbor. She had used the five taels of silver she had received as a deposit from selling her granddaughter, and had only spent fifty wen to buy the hen. She was delighted and was planning how to make a pot of tonic soup for her precious young son.

As soon as I reached the entrance of the village, I saw a large crowd of people gathered in front of the headman's house, making a lot of noise.

She squeezed into the crowd out of curiosity and saw her eldest son and daughter-in-law surrounded by everyone, as well as Tian Lao San who was thrown to the ground with blood all over his face.

The old lady's good mood disappeared in an instant, and a surge of anger rushed to her head.

"What the hell are you two scoundrels up to?" She pointed at Feng Lan and Chen Kangbo's noses and started scolding them. "You're not sleeping in the middle of the night, grabbing someone and dragging them to the village head's house. Aren't you embarrassed enough for our Chen family?"

Chen Kangbo grabbed Tian Laosan and threw him at the old lady's feet. With red eyes, he asked, "Mother, you've come at the perfect time! Tell us in front of the village head and the villagers, was it you who let this person into our house, into the maid's room?"

When the truth was revealed, the old lady panicked at first, but then she thought, since things had come to this point, she might as well just give up. Her neck stiffened and she screamed in a shrill voice, "I put it in there, what's wrong?"

She spoke with confidence, her voice even drowning out the surrounding discussions: "Daya's reputation has long been messed up by you two! After what happened today, she is just a piece of junk that no one wants! The fact that Tian Lao San is willing to take her in is a blessing she has earned in eight lifetimes! Our Chen family has raised her so much, she deserves to contribute to this family!"

In her excitement, she even turned her head to look at Tian Lao San, who was groaning on the ground, and started talking business in front of everyone: "Tian Lao San, don't be afraid! I'll take care of it for you! We need to discuss the betrothal gift again. We agreed on ten taels just now, but since you're a good person, I'll add five more! Make it an auspicious number of fifteen taels, and you can take this girl away today!"

“Wow!”

The onlookers were in an uproar. They had seen shameless people before, but never anyone this shameless! Selling her own granddaughter like an animal in front of the whole village, was this old woman's heart evil?

Feng Lan, who had remained silent the entire time, was trembling slightly. It was a rage suppressed to the extreme, like a volcano about to erupt. When she heard the old woman's haggling, the last string of reason in her mind snapped with a bang.

A cold light flashed!

Everyone saw nothing but a flash before their eyes. The next second, the greasy kitchen knife was firmly planted on Mrs. Chen's withered neck. The sharp blade pressed against her skin, instantly oozing a thin line of blood.

The whole scene was dead silent.

The arrogance on Mrs. Chen's face instantly froze, replaced by boundless fear. She could clearly feel the cold and stinging of the blade, and was so frightened that she dared not move.

Feng Lan leaned over and whispered into her ear. Her voice was as low as a gust of cold wind, but it was clearly heard by everyone present:

"If you say one more word, I will make you reunite with my daughter underground today."

"Don't you want to sell her? I'll send you on your way first, and let you go to the Yellow Springs Road to explore the way for her!"
