Chapter 208: Traveling to Relax

Chapter 208: Traveling to Relax

"It wasn't a big deal."

San Ya didn't have any big problems originally, so she was just happy to hear this, and said with a smile, "I'm just tired."

Feng Lan knew that her daughter was pretending to be relaxed, but some things didn't need to be said so obviously, so she simply didn't say anything.

Feng Lan suddenly remembered something, and her expression gradually became serious. "Now that the canal construction is settled, shouldn't we relax a bit?"

Chen Kangbo was stunned for a moment, and seemed unable to react for a moment.

"Relax?"

"Go out for a walk."

Feng Lan looked at San Ya and had already made up her mind, "This child is busy every day, it's time for her to go out and relax."

San Ya shook her head and refused without thinking, with even a hint of fatigue in her expression.

"No need, mother. There are still many things to do in the restaurant."

"What's more important than your body?"

Feng Lan didn't allow for discussion. She frowned slightly and said, "It's settled. Let's go out for fun tomorrow."

Chen Kangbo also thought it was a good idea and joined in to help persuade them.

"Yes, it's good to go out for a walk, Sanya, just listen to your mother."

San Ya couldn't persuade her parents, so she had to agree. She just nodded and couldn't help but say something.

"Where to go then?"

Feng Lan thought about it and found it really unexpected. Suddenly, her eyes lit up.

"I heard there's a lake outside the city with beautiful scenery."

"Emerald Lake?"

Sanya's eyes lit up, and she couldn't help but become a little excited. She immediately said, "I've heard about it too. It's said to be very beautiful."

"Then go there."

The next morning, the family of three set off. Chen Kangbo hired a carriage and Feng Lan prepared a lot of food.

"Why bring so many?" San Ya said with a smile, and couldn't help shaking her head.

"When you go out, you always have to be well prepared." Feng Lan said as a matter of course, packing these things.

The carriage slowly drove out of the city. Along the way, we could see the surrounding scenery, which was very beautiful.

"Look, those crops are growing so well." Chen Kangbo pointed out the window with a faint smile on his face.

"It will be better once the canal is repaired." Feng Lan continued, as if she had more hope for the future.

San Ya leaned against the car window, looking at the scenery outside, a faint smile flashing across her brows, and her whole mood became very comfortable.

"We're here!" the driver shouted, stopping the carriage.

The three of them got off the carriage and were stunned by the scene before them.

The Emerald Lake is indeed worthy of its reputation. The landscape here is really different from other landscapes and is particularly beautiful.

"It's so beautiful!" San Ya couldn't help but sigh.

Feng Lan was also very satisfied. She hadn't been here for many years, and indeed she had never seen some of the scenery before.

"Come on, let's find a place to sit down."

They found a shady place by the lake, spread out the mats they brought, and each sat down, looking ahead.

Feng Lan took out the prepared food one by one, her movements were very slow, but before she knew it, she had piled up a small mountain.

"So much!" Chen Kangbo was at a loss for words and didn't know how to eat it.

"It's not easy to come out, so of course we have to eat well."

San Ya felt warm in her heart as she watched her parents busying around. She sat beside them and ate.

"Mom and Dad, thank you." she said suddenly.

"What are you thanking me for?" Feng Lan stopped what she was doing.

"Thank you for caring so much about me."

Feng Lan felt a pang in her heart, some words were stuck in her heart, she didn't know how to say it, she just shook her head slightly.

"Silly boy, this is what you should do."

After dinner, San Ya took the initiative to pack up her things.

"I'll wash the dishes."

She carried the plate to the lake and squatted down to wash it.

The lake water was very clear, and she couldn't help but scoop up some to wash her face, which made her feel a little more awake.

"Saya, be careful not to fall!" Chen Kangbo reminded from behind.

"I know, Dad!"

After washing the dishes, San Ya stood by the lake for a while, with her eyebrows slightly lowered, and her whole mood became relaxed.

It was late at night and everyone was asleep. Feng Lan was packing her simple luggage. Her movements were very light and efficient.

"Mom, are you really leaving?" San Ya asked in a low voice, carefully and cautiously.

"Yeah." Feng Lan nodded. "Things here are almost done. It's time to go."

She had originally planned to leave during this period, but some things had delayed her and she had no way to leave.

"What about the restaurant?"

"Leave it to Yuanyuan."

San Ya had already made up her mind. She would have to leave sooner or later anyway, so now was the best time to leave. "She can now stand on her own."

The family packed up their things and quietly walked out of the yard. Suddenly, the surroundings became very bright, and the streets were full of people, all looking at them silently.

"This is..." Chen Kangbo was also dumbfounded.

An old man walked out of the crowd, with a trace of sadness on his face, and couldn't help but say something.

"Sister-in-law Chen, I heard you're leaving?"

Feng Lan nodded and sighed slightly, "There are some things to deal with."

"Then we'll take you there."

The old man turned around and shouted to everyone, "Get out of the way and let the Chen family go first. They have things to do."

Feng Lan looked at the villagers on both sides, her nose felt sore, and some words suddenly became unspeakable. She didn't know what to say.

"Everyone, go back. It's late."

Feng Lan took a deep breath and pulled her family forward. She really didn't expect that she would suddenly cause so much trouble to everyone.

When we arrived at the city gate, the governor was waiting there, as if he had been waiting there since early morning.

"Your Excellency the Governor." Feng Lan saluted, with a hint of surprise in her eyes.

"You're welcome."

The governor handed over a bundle that looked bulging with stuff, but he didn't know what was inside. "This is for you."

Feng Lan took the bag and felt it was heavy. She immediately sensed something was wrong.

"Sir, this..."

"There was silver and a letter inside."

The governor lowered his voice and spoke in a very low tone, "The letter is written to a friend in Shangjing. If you have any difficulties, you can contact him."

Feng Lan felt warm in her heart, but she didn't know what to say, and there was a hint of helplessness in her eyes.

"I will remember your kindness, sir."

"What kind of favor is this?"

The governor waved his hand, not taking it too seriously, "I owe you this."

He paused, then added, "I will definitely repay you when I have the chance in the future."

"Let's go." Feng Lan said to the driver, still feeling a little reluctant, and left silently.

"Mom, they are still seeing us off." San Ya also saw it and couldn't help but say something.

Chen Kangbo wiped his eyes, his voice choked with sobs as he spoke, "This life is worth it."

When they wanted to go, Su Wenbin did not delay and followed them silently, planning to go together.
