Chapter 51: Kill you two bad guys!
"I'll bite you to death, you bad guy!"
Erya suddenly lowered her head, opened her mouth, and bit Chen Kangnian's wrist, which was holding her arm. She used all her strength, and her teeth almost dug into the bone.
"Ah--!" Chen Kangnian was caught off guard, let out a scream, and subconsciously let go of his hand.
Now is the time!
"Hurry! Go save my sister!" Arya shook him off and rushed into the dense forest first like an angry little leopard.
Seeing their second sister's bravery, Sanya and her two other sisters seemed to have their hearts ignited. They stopped crying, wiped their tears, grabbed stones and branches on the ground, screamed, and rushed in with Arya.
Wuya, the youngest, ran slowly. She watched her sisters rush into the dangerous forest and stamped her feet anxiously. She suddenly remembered her mother's words: if you encounter a danger that cannot be solved, go to your parents!
"I'm going to find my parents!" she shouted, turned around and ran towards her home at the foot of the mountain, crawling and rolling.
In the dense forest, Qian and Li were about to do something to Daya when they suddenly heard a scream. Three little girls rushed over like crazy, waving stones and branches.
"Kill you two bad guys!"
"Let my elder sister go!"
They were small and weak, and the weapons in their hands had no killing power, but in the eyes of the two guilty young men, they were like three little tigers appearing out of thin air.
"Damn it! Where did all these little devils come from!" The young man named Qian cursed and kicked away a sister who rushed over.
Erya seized the opportunity, picked up a sharp stone from the ground, and smashed it hard at the fat man's knee.
The fat man surnamed Li let out an "Ah!", his legs went limp, and he fell to his knees.
The scene instantly became a mess.
Daya took advantage of this opportunity to break free from the grip, picked up her small backpack, and with all her strength, smashed it down on the head of the young man named Qian. The backpack was filled with wild mushrooms as hard as rocks, and the blow was so solid that the young man felt his eyes go black, the world spun, and he sat down on the ground.
At this time, on the ridge of the field at the foot of the mountain.
Feng Lan was delivering water to Chen Kangbo, who was busy working in the fields. The couple looked at the canal, which had already taken shape, with smiles on their faces.
"Once the water is brought here, this land will come alive." Chen Kangbo wiped the sweat off his forehead and smiled naively.
Feng Lan was about to speak when her heart suddenly skipped a beat, and a strong sense of unease washed over her. She subconsciously looked towards the back of the mountain.
At this moment, a small figure appeared on the hillside. The figure stumbled, crying and shouting as it ran. The sound was weak, but it was like a heavy hammer, hitting the couple's hearts hard.
It’s Wu Ya!
"Dad! Mom! Hurry... hurry and save big sister! There are bad guys!"
Feng Lan and Chen Kangbo's faces turned pale in an instant.
Chen Kangbo dropped his kettle and, without a word, grabbed a sharpened shovel from the ground and rushed towards the back mountain like a gust of wind. His tall body erupted with astonishing speed and strength, and the ground beneath his feet seemed to tremble.
Feng Lan followed closely behind. She didn't even have time to comfort her frightened little daughter. Her mind was filled with only one thought: nothing must happen to her daughter again!
When they rushed out of the dense forest, they saw Chen Kangnian covering his wrist and rolling on the ground wailing.
Feng Lan didn't even look at him and rushed into the woods.
The scene in the forest made her eyes tear up.
Daya's clothes were torn, her hair disheveled, as she, Erya, Sanya, and the others engaged in a gruesome fight with the two young thugs in the most primitive way possible. They scratched, bit, pelted, and rammed their bodies like wild beasts protecting their cubs. Though covered in wounds, they refused to retreat.
Qian and Li were completely enraged, and their attacks became increasingly violent.
"You beasts! I'll kill you!"
A roar that did not sound like a human voice came from outside the forest.
Chen Kangbo has arrived.
He looked like a demon from hell, his eyes bloodshot and his body emitting a murderous aura. When he saw his daughters' miserable state, the string of his rationality snapped completely.
Without any extra words, he swung the shovel in his hand and swept it towards the young man named Qian who was closest to him.
The young man only felt a gust of evil wind, and before he could react, the heavy wooden handle of the shovel hit his waist hard.
There was a crisp "crack" sound, accompanied by a pig-slaughtering scream, and the young man flew sideways like a kite with a broken string, hit a big tree, and rolled to the ground, hugging his waist, unable to get up again.
Another fat man named Li was so frightened by the sight of his companion's miserable state that he abandoned the girl he was pestering and turned to run away.
Chen Kangbo darted forward, his large, fan-like hand grasping the back of his collar and lifting him up like a chicken. Then, he clenched his other hand into a fist and punched the fat man hard in the face.
With a muffled "bang", the fat man's nose was broken, and blood and tears instantly covered his entire face. He didn't even have time to scream before his eyes rolled back and he fainted.
The whole process happened in a flash.
The two young villains who had been so arrogant just now, one with a broken waist and the other dead, were lying on the ground like two dead dogs.
Chen Kangbo dropped the person in his hand, turned around, and walked quickly to his daughters. His hands were trembling, wanting to touch them, but afraid of hurting them.
"Dad..." When Daya saw her father, her tense nerves finally relaxed. She cried out, threw herself into his arms, and burst into tears.
Erya, Sanya and the others also gathered around and cried together.
Feng Lan also ran over. She quickly checked her daughters' injuries. Seeing that they only had minor injuries and shock, her heart finally relaxed. She took off her coat and wrapped it tightly around the disheveled Daya. She hugged her daughters in her arms, using her body warmth to soothe their fear.
The family hugged each other tightly in fear and relief at surviving the disaster.
Meanwhile, Chen Kangnian, who was outside the forest, was finally alerted by the commotion. Covering his bleeding wrist, he peeped in and was so frightened by the scene, especially the sight of Qian and Li lying on the ground, their bodies unknown whether they were alive or dead, that his legs went limp.
"Brother, sister-in-law, this is none of my business! It's them...it's them who want to..." He tried to defend himself incoherently.
Feng Lan slowly raised her head. Her usually gentle eyes were now as cold as ice-cold knives, devoid of any warmth. She stood up and walked step by step towards Chen Kangnian.
“Bang!”
A loud and crisp slap landed heavily on Chen Kangnian's face.
Feng Lan used all her strength to slap Chen Kangnian, causing him to spin half a circle on the spot, and blood immediately appeared at the corner of his mouth.
"Chen Kangnian." Feng Lan's voice was eerily calm. "You sold out your own niece for a few taels of silver. Are you still a human being?"
“I…I didn’t…”
“Bang!”
Another slap, harder.
"Have you read all those years of sage books? Have they all gone to waste? Propriety, righteousness, integrity, and shame—do you even understand what they mean?" Feng Lan pointed at the two evildoers on the ground, then at her daughters, each word piercing her heart. "Look at them! Look at them again! They're your family! They're your eldest brother's flesh and blood! Today, you almost pushed them into the fire with your own hands! What the hell is your heart made of?"
Chen Kangnian was scolded by her and beaten until he was dizzy, and he couldn't even say a word in rebuttal.
After settling his daughter down, Chen Kangbo also came over. He said nothing, simply staring intently at his sixth brother, whom he had watched grow up, with his bloodshot eyes. There was no anger in his eyes, only a deep disappointment and coldness that penetrated his bones.
He slowly raised the blood-stained shovel in his hand.
Chen Kangnian looked at the shovel and was so scared that he fell to his knees with a plop, tears streaming down his face.
"Brother! I was wrong! I was really wrong! Please forgive me this time! I won't dare to do it again! For the sake of our brotherhood, you can't kill me!"
The shovel stopped an inch away from his head.
Chen Kangbo's hands were trembling slightly. Killing him would dirty his own hands; it wasn't worth it. But, could he just let him go?
He can't do it.
He turned and looked at Feng Lan.
Feng Lan's face had regained its composure. She looked at Chen Kangnian, who was kneeling and begging for mercy, then at the two half-dead creatures on the ground. A plan quickly formed in her mind.
"Comber," she said, her voice as cold as winter ice, "killing him would be too easy for him."
She walked to Chen Kangbo and whispered a few words in his ear.
Chen Kangbo's eyes lit up as he listened. The murderous look in his eyes gradually faded, replaced by a colder, more resolute chill.
He nodded, threw away the shovel, grabbed Chen Kangnian by the collar and lifted him up from the ground.
"Come on, follow us to town." Chen Kangbo's voice was emotionless. "To the county government office."
