Chapter 15 Why doesn't Cousin Wei call me sister-in-law?

Gu Jingyu heard the waiter's words and angrily said, "How dare you, a restaurant waiter, spread such nonsense and tarnish the reputation of the Wei family's legitimate daughter? My brother has already married, and the person before you is my sister-in-law, Prince Ning's concubine. How can Cousin Wei be my mother's daughter-in-law?"

The waiter was stunned when he heard Gu Jingyu's words, "You said she is the Prince of Ning's consort?"

The waiter couldn't help but sneer, "I've met the Prince of Ning. He's incredibly handsome, unrivaled in the world. How could his wife be such an ordinary-looking woman? Who dares to pretend to be a princess and a princess?"

Gu Jingyu frowned and said, "Why should I pretend? My brother Gu Yan is right here. If you don't doubt me, just go over and ask him."

The waiter, however, was certain that the woman before him, who wasn't dressed lavishly and wasn't considered a stunning beauty, couldn't possibly be Gu Yan's wife, so he said, "How could the wife of Prince Ning be such an unworldly woman? She's so stingy that she's even stingy with three grams of chicken. She has no sense at all."

Yun Xiangye took Nuonuo's hand and stood up, saying, "If you don't believe me, you can go to the side room and ask Prince Ning."

Since Gu Yan was unwilling to tell his colleagues that she was his wife, Yun Xiangye was deliberately trying to embarrass him.

Gu Jingyu also stood up and said, "Yes, you, the waiter, are really looking down on others. You don't even recognize this princess, and you dare to be disrespectful to the master."

The waiter looked at Gu Jingyu. Gu Jingyu was a beauty, and the clothes she wore were gorgeous and exquisite. The waiter was a little nervous, but still felt that Yun Xiangye could not be the wife of Prince Ning.

Gu Jingyu got up and went to the next room. She pushed the door open and said, "Brother."

Gu Yangang and his colleagues had just ordered their dishes. There were many cold dishes on the round table. When Gu Yan saw Gu Jingyu coming in, he asked, "Jingyu, what's up?"

"Princess." Several officials in the Censorate stood up and saluted Gu Jingyu.

Yun Xiangye took Xiao Nuonuo's hand and walked into the house. She raised an eyebrow and looked at Gu Yan and said, "This waiter in your restaurant is sure that I am not your wife. Can you tell him whether I am your wife or not?"

Gu Yan looked at the waiter outside the door and replied, "Yes."

Yun Xiangye looked at the waiter shivering outside the door and sneered, "You can go down."

The waiter was so frightened that his legs went weak and he couldn't walk. He took a step and fell to the ground. He quickly got up and hurried to look for his cousin.

Several officials in the Censorate looked at Yun Xiangye in surprise.

Yun Xiangye smiled sweetly and said to the officials, "My lords, we apologize for disturbing you. We will not bother you any longer."

Gu Yan, however, held Yun Xiangye's wrist and said, "Since you're here, let's have lunch together."

Yun Xiangye raised an eyebrow and looked at Gu Yan. Just now he didn't dare to introduce himself as his wife in front of his colleagues, but now he actually asked her to stay for dinner.

Yun Xiangye pushed Gu Yan's hand away without leaving a trace. "I came here today for the restaurant's business, so I won't have dinner with you. I want to go take a look in the restaurant kitchen."

Gu Yan also followed Yun Xiangye. Gu Yan originally wanted to keep Nuonuo by his side, but when little Nuonuo saw that his mother was leaving, he also followed behind Yun Xiangye happily, "Mom."

Yun Xiangye picked up Xiao Nuonuo and went to the kitchen.

Inside the Duke of Wei’s mansion.

Lady Yan, the wife of the Duke of Wei, listened to the maid's report and raised her eyebrows. "Really? Did the Yun family really kick the four maids around Gu Yan out of the Princess's residence?"

"Madam, this is untrue! Those maids have all gone to the Censorate to look for Prince Ning. The Yun family is truly too jealous."

The wife of the Duke of Wei sneered and said, "Does she really think of herself as the Crown Prince's wife? She doesn't even consider her status. If Gu Yan's life hadn't been on the line and he needed a wedding to auspiciously bring good luck, he would never have married her."

The maid said beside Yan, "Madam, this is a happy event. This Yun family is so unpresentable and jealous that her reputation is completely ruined. When the time comes, Her Royal Highness the Princess will definitely not allow Yun family to be the Crown Prince's wife."

Yan said, "She is not really a wife. She didn't go through the three letters and six ceremonies, didn't go through the three matchmakers and six engagements, and she didn't even go through the ceremony in the Gu family ancestral hall. How can she be called a wife of a prince?

Even if the position of the Crown Prince's wife is not for my daughter, it is not the turn of a merchant girl from a small town in the south of the Yangtze River who has brought bad luck to her parents."

--

Yun Xiangye spent the afternoon running around the Chang'an restaurant and streets.

It was almost dusk when she returned to the mansion to find Her Royal Highness the Princess.

When Yun Xiangye arrived at the Garden of Ten Thousand Flowers, she saw Gu Jingyu and Wei Xi there.

Wei Yu cried in front of Xie Zhixuan, "Your Highness, I really don't know why my servants would say such shameless things in my name."

Xie Zhixuan said to Wei Xi, "You've been taking care of your great-aunt in the princess's mansion for the past three years. You're truly filial, but you're old now, and it's time for you to return home."

Wei Xi said, "Your Highness, my great-aunt has been depressed since my great-uncle passed away. I want to spend more time with her..."

"Mother." Yun Xiangye walked up to Xie Zhixuan and bowed. "Mother, I went to Linlang Restaurant today and found some shortcomings. I want to make some changes to the menu."

Xie Zhixuan looked at Yun Xiangye and chuckled, "I'm handing this Linlang Restaurant over to you. Just go and make the changes. You don't have to report to me in the future. Jingyu already told me about the waiter being disrespectful to you today. I didn't realize that the restaurant has a new owner since Xia Lian left. I'm sorry to have wronged you."

Wei Xi felt a little nervous when she heard what Xie Zhixuan said. She had stuffed people into the restaurant under the name of her great-aunt Madam Gu, and had done so when Xia Lian was still there.
