Chapter 5 Collapses Amidst the Cries of "Dog Egg" (1/2)

In front of the Wang family's house next door.

Juanjuan and Wang Dachui both looked up at the sky.

A large plume of black smoke rose from there, an unusually large plume of black smoke.

"Wow! Such black smoke! The curl looks like..."

Before Big Hammer could finish speaking, Curly Sister next to him took off running.

"Wait for me!"

Big Hammer quickly gave chase.

As soon as Juanjuan stepped into her yard, she saw that the dilapidated and simple small kitchen looked like it had been vomiting.

Black smoke was billowing out from every crack.

Suddenly, a person ran out of the small kitchen coughing, seemingly stunned by the fumes.

He stood frozen in the courtyard, and under Juanjuan's gaze, he numbly opened his mouth and exhaled a large puff of black smoke.

Juanjuan: ...

Just then, I saw Curly's Bai Tian: ...

[Spicy, spicy! How embarrassing!!!]

Who would have thought cooking could be so difficult? Even though I know the whole process, I just can't seem to get the hang of it!

Bai Tian's heart had completely collapsed, but he remained calm on the surface, always wanting to show his responsibility as a father in front of his youngest daughter!

Hearing her father's desperate roars and glancing at the smoking kitchen behind them, Juanjuan tentatively asked, "Is Daddy cooking for himself?"

Bai Tian raised his hand and coughed twice, trying to appear composed: "Yes, Dad has realized it. Dad wants to become the pillar of our family. Juanjuan is still too young, and cooking is too hard for her."

Juanjuan glanced at the still-smoking small kitchen.

Actually, it would be more tiring for her to clean up the smoke-stained kitchen.

Bai Tian's lips twitched: "This was an accident. Dad hasn't cooked in a long time! He's gotten rusty, rusty!"

"Dad will go pack right away, Juanjuan can just wait!"

Bai Tian finished speaking with great confidence and reliability, then turned and walked back to the small kitchen.

【What to do, what to do, why was cooking so difficult in ancient times? I miss pre-cooked meals and takeout so much!!!】

At home, all I know how to do is fry an egg, cook instant noodles, and maybe make scrambled eggs with tomatoes.

What I miss are gas stoves, microwaves, and induction cookers! Can anyone help me start a fire?!

The light of the setting sun was already extremely weak, passing through the black smoke and making Bai Tian's figure appear as dark as ink painting. He looked proud and imposing, and even his slightly lame leg made him seem like a general who had been through countless battles and was now facing death alone on the battlefield.

"Juanjuan, your dad... is so handsome!"

Big Hammer's eyes widened. In that instant, he thought that Curly's dad was really handsome!

But Juanjuan, who could hear her father's inner thoughts: ...

Just as Bai Tian was about to start a fire again, a small hand tugged at his sleeve.

"Father, let me do it."

A heavenly voice, like that of a savior, rang out.

The little child stood beside him, with the faint glow of the setting sun shining through the doorway behind him. Standing against the light, he was Bai Tian's savior at that moment.

"Okay, sure."

Bai Tian immediately moved aside.

Watching the child skillfully light the fire, Bai Tian once again felt that the original owner of this body was not a person.

"Juanjuan is awesome! So amazing!"

Bai Tian really thought the little girl was amazing, and he was just about to roll up his sleeves and go cook some more.

Then Juanjuan hurriedly said, "Daddy, let me cook."

Bai Tian: [That expression...does she doubt my cooking skills?]

Juanjuan lowered her head uneasily; she was afraid her father would poison the whole family.

[Never mind, what if I didn't cook them properly and they're poisonous? Who knows if these beans are overcooked or not.]

Bai Tian thought about his wife inside the house, and then about his own cooking skills, and sheepishly chose to eat the small one instead.

When Jiang Dai saw the black smoke, it had already almost disappeared.

As soon as she came out, she saw her well-behaved daughter cooking in the small, shabby kitchen, while her cheap husband waited expectantly with a chipped bowl in his hand.

Jiang Dai: ...

It feels like this family is really unreliable.

Dinner was extremely simple: a vegetable soup with a few wild vegetables floating in it, and a few not-so-appetizing flatbreads.

Juanjuan habitually sat in the corner of the table, but Jiang Dai frowned slightly before warmly greeting the child.

"Juanjuan, come sit here."
