Chapter 2 Going Up the Mountain

Song Ning was startled. Where was her rabbit? Where was her big rabbit?

Just as she was wondering what was going on, she opened her eyes and found herself in an unfamiliar place.

On the lush green grass, the rabbits were happily eating.

Um?

Is it a case of being trapped in a maze?

But the environment here is so beautiful, it doesn't seem quite right.

After wandering around, Song Ning realized that this place seemed to be a closed space, and she couldn't get out.

But the rabbit we just caught is still here. The air is fresh, and there's even a spring.

Suddenly an idea popped into my head.

She silently recited something in her mind, and suddenly reappeared on the mountain.

Thinking back to that place, she found herself back in that space a second later.

Song Ning's face was filled with disbelief.

After the initial disbelief came great joy, and they went in and out several times to try it out.

With this, things will be much easier with this rabbit.

Having finally gotten lucky today, Song Ning didn't want to waste the opportunity, so she wandered around the area and reaped quite a harvest.

This should be enough for their family to eat for a few days.

After coming down from the mountain, it was already quite late. If we went back too late, Song Dahai and Liu Yuelan would probably be worried.

After all, she was his daughter. No matter how badly she turned out, he didn't want her to really lose her life.

Now that she had taken over this body, she would try her best to be a good member of the Song family and take good care of Song Dahai and Liu Yuelan.

On the way back, she encountered many people heading home. When they saw her, they either whispered behind her back or pointed at her.

She knew she was now a celebrity in the village, a negative example, but she ignored it. She was starving and just wanted to go home for a meal.

Suddenly, a sharp voice exploded in my ears: "Isn't that Song family's second daughter?!"

Song Ning didn't want to pay attention to it, but the person blocked her way.

Song Ning looked up and saw several young girls. Although they were at the age of blossoming beauty, they were all dark-skinned and thin, without any hint of youthful charm.

She recognized this person; he was practically the original owner's mortal enemy.

The Wang family girl who lived at the entrance of the village also liked Zhou Ling'an, so the two couldn't stand each other and even had a fight before.

"Everyone come quick! Song Jia Er Ya is out!"

This shout drew the attention of many people around, who turned to watch the spectacle.

"Heh, I heard you bumped your head? You're healed so quickly?"

Many people in the village liked Zhou Ling'an, but now they've all come to see Song Ning make a fool of himself.

"Don't you even know who you are? How dare you covet Zhou Ling'an!" Wang Cuicui glared at her with resentment.

"You really are incorrigible! After all this time, you still haven't taken a piss and looked at yourself in the mirror. You still won't give up!"

"Zhou Ling'an is already a scholar, why would he be interested in you?"

"He ran out as soon as he woke up. Could it be that he's set his sights on someone again and is trying to seduce them?" The surrounding crowd burst into laughter.

Despite having a youthful and innocent face, she has a sharp and mean demeanor.

"I just came out to see if there were any wild vegetables I could dig up and take home. I didn't expect to meet such kind-hearted villagers." Song Ning was very calm and not angry at all.

"Song Erya, Zhou Ling'an would never look at someone as shameless as you!" Wang Cuicui raised the corners of her mouth slightly, somewhat smug.

Song Ning burst out laughing.

"What are you saying? If he doesn't like me, do you think he would like you? I heard that you tried to run into Zhou Ling'an last time, but he didn't even glance at you. At least I got close to Zhou Ling'an."

"You, you!" Wang Cuicui's eyes reddened with anger. "You shameless bastard!"

Although Song Ning's current appearance wasn't much better, this Wang family girl was even darker than her and not as pretty as Er Ya. However, she was two years older than Er Ya, so her figure looked a bit plumper.

Song Ning stretched out her hand, revealing the wild vegetables she had picked, and said sadly, "Sigh~ We're so broke at home that I thought I'd come out and pick some wild vegetables. You seem to have plenty of free time, so you must have eaten your fill. It looks like the Wang family still has some surplus food. We're from the same village, so why don't you lend us some?"

She was only 12 years old, and after falling and hitting her head, she fell ill and looks extremely pitiful now.

Upon hearing this, Wang Cuicui immediately looked around nervously. She couldn't say such things carelessly. At this time, even if the family had surplus food, who would dare to say it? Wouldn't that cause trouble for the family?

Moreover, the past few years have been bad, and grain is the most precious thing; you can't borrow grain from anyone.

Song Ning's sudden show of weakness left Wang Cuicui somewhat at a loss.

"Pah, what bad luck!"

The original owner's character was well-known in the village, and the onlookers, afraid of getting involved with this pesky woman, all dispersed.

Wang Cuicui was only a fourteen-year-old girl after all. What tricks could she possibly have? She just wanted to vent her anger by cursing a few times. Seeing that everyone had dispersed, and fearing that Song Ning would ask her for food, she glared at her and quickly turned and left.

With a slight sigh, Song Ning turned and walked home.

Although her head injury wasn't serious, it hadn't healed yet, and coupled with the hot weather, she felt dizzy and lightheaded as she walked back.

There's no medicine she can take right now. I hope it won't get infected or leave a scar, otherwise she'll be devastated.

Thinking of this, Song Ning reached out and touched the wound on her forehead. She didn't know if it was just her imagination, but the wound seemed to have shrunk a little, though it still ached slightly.

Without thinking much about it, Song Ning touched his head and went home. But before he even entered the house, he heard voices coming from inside.

"Honey, why don't you eat something?" It was Liu Yuelan's voice.
