Song Ning had just turned around when she was startled by the dark figure behind her. She said irritably, "What are you doing standing behind me in the middle of the night instead of sleeping?"
He quickly tidied up the things on the table and nudged her, saying, "Go to sleep."
The two stood in front of the bed, each understanding the other's meaning through their eyes.
"I want to sleep in the bed," Song Ning argued.
“This is my home, this is my bed,” Mu Xueyun protested.
"If you don't let me sleep in the bed, then neither of us will sleep tonight."
Anyway, she won't suffer this injustice.
Mu Xueyun climbed onto the bed first, and Song Ning followed closely behind.
Just as Mu Xueyun was about to kick her off the bed, Song Ning rolled onto her side and lay down on the other side, looking over triumphantly: "I won this time."
Just as Mu Xueyun was about to reach out, Song Ning gratefully stopped her: "Hey, try pulling me! We haven't even gotten over what happened last time you pushed me. I'm sacrificing myself to be with you now, and you still want to treat me like this? Don't you have any conscience?"
Mu Xueyun was a bit spoiled and domineering, but she wasn't really malicious.
She knew why Song Ning had come today, but she felt that her grandfather had sent this man to anger her to death.
She pursed her lips and didn't say anything. In the end, she didn't force Song Ning to get down. Instead, she lay down on the outside of the bed and closed her eyes to sleep.
She hasn't been able to sleep at night lately, and now that there's someone else next to her, she can't sleep at all.
As I lay there, the irritability I felt during the day disappeared, and I calmed down considerably.
I don't know how much time had passed, but I couldn't hold back any longer: "Are you asleep?"
Nobody paid any attention.
"Asleep?"
Still, no one responded.
Mu Xueyun started to get angry again. After all, she came from the countryside and ate and slept like a pig.
As I lay there, I suddenly remembered that Song Ning had been hunched over the desk for a long time that night, and I wondered what mischief he was plotting.
Since she couldn't sleep anyway, she glanced at Song Ning beside her, quietly got out of bed, went to the outer room to light the lamp, and carefully flipped through the papers on the table.
Upon seeing what was on the paper, I was instantly stunned.
The figure's body was drawn beautifully, but there was no face. It took me a while to realize that she had drawn a pattern for clothing.
I was so engrossed in looking at it that I was completely mesmerized.
Song Ning was asleep when she dreamed that there was a gaze from the shadows, staring intently at her.
She rolled over and reached out to her side, but no one was there. She slowly opened her eyes, then suddenly sat up and exclaimed in surprise, "Oh my god!"
Mu Xueyun sat beside her, wearing a white nightgown, her hair loose, her face deathly pale, looking like a female ghost.
"Are you crazy? What are you doing?"
Mu Xueyun, unusually, did not refute her. She silently got off the bed, knelt down in front of the bed with a "thump," and kowtowed with a "bang."
Oh no, Mu Xueyun has gone mad.
"Song Ning, be my mentor."
...Mu Xueyun has indeed gone mad.
She can't treat this illness, and she can't continue working for the Mu family.
Mu Xueyun handed over the manuscript paper and asked, "Did you draw all of these?"
By the dim candlelight, he squinted and glanced at it, then pointed at the meat: "Yes, I drew it."
"Then can you be my master?"
He stared at Mu Xueyun, who was kneeling, for a long time, then moved over to touch her forehead, but she didn't have a fever.
"Miss Mu, are you sure you're okay with looking at these things in the middle of the night instead of sleeping?"
She wasn't interested in any of that "master" stuff, and simply lay down on the bed: "Go to sleep."
Mu Xueyun refused to give up and climbed onto the bed to speak. Song Ning got annoyed, grabbed something from beside the pillow, and smashed it over Mu Xueyun's head. Mu Xueyun immediately passed out.
The next morning, Song Ning forgot that she was at the Mu family's house. She wanted to stretch, but as soon as she stretched her leg, she heard a thud.
Realizing what was happening, she thought to herself, "Oh no!" and quickly got up to look over. Mu Xueyun had been kicked to the ground by her.
"Song Ning!"
As expected, she was about to lose her temper.
Mu Xueyun suddenly froze on the ground, remembering what happened last night. She immediately got up and her attitude changed.
"Did you take the wrong medicine?"
Mu Xueyun smiled and looked at her: "Song Ning, would you like to be my master?"
Not again?
"What master?"
"The one from last night."
"Which one from last night? Speaking of which, I'd like to ask you, were you sleepwalking last night? You grabbed me and wanted me to be your master, it scared me to death."
Last night? Didn't she see those things Song Ning drew last night?
Thinking of this, I quickly searched the bed, but it wasn't there, so I ran to the outer room. The things on the table were neatly arranged, but there was nothing there.
Is it really a dream?
Song Ning, who was inside, craned her neck to look outside and breathed a sigh of relief.
Fortunately, she put those three blueprints into her spatial storage and cleaned the table overnight; otherwise, she wouldn't know how she would have ended things today.
Sure enough, when Mu Xueyun returned from the outer room, her expression changed. She looked much better this way; last night had really scared her to death.
Hearing the commotion, the person outside brought in water. After the two finished washing up and eating breakfast, Mu Xueyun said with an annoyed look, "Why are you still here? Aren't you leaving?"
"I want to leave too. Why don't you talk to your family and ask them to let me go back? I still need to do my business."
Mu Xueyun crossed her arms and looked at her triumphantly: "I won't. The more you want to go back, the less I'll let you go back."
However, she didn't have to wait long. Before noon, someone came from outside and said that she could go back.
The Mu family was quite generous; when she left, Madam Mu personally came out to see her off and gave her many nice gifts.
Madam Mu was completely different from Mu Xueyun; she was very gentle and spoke to her with nothing but gratitude.
As she walked to the door, she ran into Cheng Yuying, who was also there to see Mu Xueyun.
"Miss Song? What are you doing here?"
"Princess."
Cheng Yuying glanced inside and asked softly, "Did the Mu family make things difficult for you? Don't take it to heart. Whatever they said, it's all because they're worried about Xueyun."
"Princess, rest assured, the Mu family only asked a few questions, they didn't say anything else."
Cheng Yuying nodded: "Then I'm relieved."
"Princess, please go inside. I'll be going now."
After leaving the Mu residence, Song Ning let out a deep sigh.
What on earth is going on here?
Turning my head, I saw Xie Linzhou and Jiang Shuyue standing not far away.
Seeing her come out, he smiled and walked over, saying, "We've come to pick you up."
"Sister Jiang? What brings you here too?"
"It was my idea to come to the Mu family that you came here."
"ah?"
"Let's go, let's get in the car first and then talk."
......
"So, you mean you sent me to the Mu family partly to save Mu Xueyun, and partly to clear me of suspicion?"
"That's right. Right now, everyone outside is saying that you're the one who harmed Mu Xueyun. If Mu Xueyun really recovers, neither the outside world nor the Mu family will bother you anymore."
It was my fault for not telling you about this beforehand, but I'm relieved that you came out safe and sound.
