Chapter 71 Solve it all at once

Song Dahai quickly hid Song Ning behind his back.

When these people came in, Li Guixiang and Chen were so frightened that they quickly stood up and dared not say a word.

Seeing that no one answered, the man angrily asked again, "Who is Song Erya?"

The visitor seemed ill-intentioned. Song Ning emerged from behind Song Dahai and said, "That's me."

The group sized Song Ning up and down, then asked in a gruff voice, "You're Song Er Ya? We heard you owe the Liu family money? If you pay back the five taels of silver you owe today, we won't make things difficult for you."

Song Ning remained calm and composed, showing no sign of panic.

"Who from the Liu family sent you? Old Man Liu? Liu Hong? Or Old Madam Liu?"

"Stop talking nonsense and pay me back!" one of them shouted.

“We have no money. Even if you take my life, we still have no money,” Song Ning said, raising his chin.

The leader sneered and slammed his wooden stick on the ground: "It's alright, if you don't have money, use things to pay for it. Brothers, grab your weapons and move the stuff!"

At his command, the group was about to rush into the house when Song Ning quickly called out, "Wait!"

“We don’t have money, but my grandmother does, right, Grandma?” she said, glancing behind them.

Li Guixiang and Chen had moved to the corner of the south wall at some point, trying to sneak away; they were almost at the door.

As soon as Song Ning shouted, all eyes turned to look at him.

The man immediately grabbed the two of them, looked them up and down, his eyes wide open, which almost scared Li Guixiang to death.

"You have money? Since you're her relatives, it's the same whether you give her money or not."

“No, no, we don’t have any money either. Gentlemen, we’re not his relatives, we’re just passing by,” Chen said first.

“Yes, yes, we were just passing by, we have nothing to do with them,” Li Guixiang quickly echoed in a trembling voice.

What bad luck! Not only did I not get the money, but now I've gotten myself into this mess.

"Grandmother, how can you not acknowledge us? I am your own granddaughter!" Song Ning said aggrievedly.

"Who is your grandmother? Don't make up stories!" Li Guixiang waved her hand, afraid that Song Ning would try to take advantage of her.

“We heard everything outside just now. You still expect this family to support you in your old age? What are they if not relatives?” The man said with a crooked mouth, holding the stick in his hand across in front of the two men.

"If you don't come up with the money today, nobody's leaving this yard!"

The man shouted, and Li Guixiang and Chen were terrified. They lived in the village all day and had never seen anything like it.

The last time thieves broke into the village, they were still dreaming. When they woke up, everything in their homes was gone.

"I...I have no relation to them. Yes, we've severed ties. Song Erya is no longer my granddaughter," Li Guixiang said in a panic.

"Grandmother, how can you say such a thing? When did we break off our ties?" Song Ning said pitifully.

“Sever ties now! I’ll have the village chief deliver the letter of severance tomorrow!” Li Guixiang said in fear.

After saying that, he looked at the big man and pleaded, "Young man, we really have nothing to do with each other anymore, please let us go."

The man glanced at Song Ning, then at his back: "I think we don't need to wait until tomorrow, let's do it now."

After saying that, someone behind her took out paper and pen, wrote something on the table, and then directly asked Li Guixiang to sign and put her fingerprint on it.

"The letter severing ties has been written. As long as you sign it, we will consider you to have no relation to Song Erya and will not make things difficult for you."

Upon hearing this, Li Guixiang didn't say a word; she bit her finger and pressed it on.

The man waved his hand and said, "Alright, let's go."

Li Guixiang and Chen Shi breathed a sigh of relief, glared at Song Ning with schadenfreude, and then quickly left the courtyard.

Once the person left, Song Ning said calmly, "Close the door."

Then one of the men closed the door, and the leader smiled and handed the paper to Song Ning: "How was our performance?"

Song Ning laughed: "Very good, I took it all seriously."

The series of actions these people had just performed left Song Dahai and his companions behind them stunned.

They sensed something was wrong from the moment they were about to write the letter severing ties with their spouse.

Why would a debt collector carry a pen and paper with him? He even kindly helped write a letter of severance. Are debt collectors this high-quality these days?

Song Ning beamed with joy as she held the letter severing ties with her husband; she hadn't expected things to go so smoothly.

She had no other choice; in this day and age, sons cannot sever ties with their parents, so this was something only Li Guixiang could do.

Li Daniu had already told her that Li Guixiang was coming.

When Zhao Yongfu accidentally learned of their home's location, he told Li Guixiang. Not wanting them to have an easy time, Li Guixiang told the Liu family about it.

It's said that in-laws are naturally incompatible, but who would have thought that this saying wouldn't apply to the Song and Liu families?

These people today were all borrowed by Song Ning from Qi Liangyuan.

Qi Liangyuan had probably heard the news that the restaurant was about to close down in the next few days, and the staff would be losing their jobs. There were some freelancers available.

I heard that everyone who comes gets 200 coins, and they're just going through the motions, so everyone's scrambling to come.

Li Guixiang's family is ultimately a menace to them, and they won't let them have an easy time in the future, so it's better to deal with them once and for all.

With this letter severing ties, their family was finally free from the bloodsucking Song family.

Song Dahai and Song Xiu'e have come to terms with it now; a mother like that... it's better to cut ties with her now...

The next day, Song Dahai drove the mule cart and returned to Nanshan Village with Song Ning.

Upon seeing the two return, the village chief immediately asked, "Er Ya, why are you back?"

Song Ning explained what had happened, and the village chief stood there speechless for a long time.
