Chapter 91: Useless against livestock

The mules and cows in her house are fed water from the space. Whether it works or not, I don't know, but they seem to be doing fine for now.

While everyone was asleep at night, Song Ning secretly slipped out.

But before he could take two steps, he was spotted by Li Xingwang behind him.

"Er Ya, what are you doing here so late instead of sleeping?"

"Oh... I'm going to relieve myself." After saying that, she quickly ran towards the wasteland on the side.

Li Xingwang didn't want to follow a young girl to the toilet, so he whispered, "Then be careful."

Song Ning waved, meaning "Don't worry."

Song Ning kept walking forward, and when she was sure that the people over there couldn't see her, she flashed into the space.

After harvesting the grains and vegetables from the fields, they carried wooden buckets and began scooping water from the spring.

The spring isn't big, but it bubbles and bubble all day long. After scooping out half a bucket, you can't tell whether the water level has decreased or not.

Finally, after filling the bucket, Song Ning lay on the ground and turned to look at her four plots of land.

This space has remained unchanged since it was expanded and two more plots of land were added last time.

However, she hasn't put anything into the space for a long time; she's been taking things out all the time, so it's not full yet.

She's not planning to go home tonight.

There had to be a reason for this bucket of water. She hadn't slept all night and had gone out to find water, only finding it early the next morning, so it was somewhat convincing.

Even though it was late at night and pitch black, she found water anyway.

If anyone asks where she found it, she'll just say she can't find the place anymore.

After a good night's sleep on the big bed at home, I picked up the bucket and went outside.

It was already daytime outside. Song Ning glanced discreetly at the group, and people were gradually getting up.

The water in her bucket was too clean, so she simply grabbed a handful of sand from the ground and threw it into the water, making it look much more normal.

Meanwhile, on the other side of the group, Song Dahai and Liu Yuelan didn't see Song Ning when they woke up in the morning. They assumed he had gotten on the bus and didn't think much of it. But when it was almost time for lunch, Liu Yuelan called him several times but there was no response.

He lifted the carriage curtain, but there was no one inside.

Now the Song family was in a panic; their daughter had gone missing.

The entire team searched everywhere, but Song Ning was nowhere to be found. Liu Yuelan was getting anxious when Li Xingwang hurriedly said, "I saw Er Ya go that way last night, saying she was going to relieve herself, but I didn't pay any attention to it."

Aunt Zhao slapped her son on the back: "You good-for-nothing, why didn't you come with me?"

Li Xingwang was also anxious, but what was he, a man, supposed to do when a young girl was relieving herself?

The two village chiefs were also anxious: "Then let's search in that direction!"

Just as the group set off, a head popped out from under the weeds in the distance, shouting at the top of its lungs, "Father! Mother!"

Upon hearing the sound, Song Dahai rushed over without hesitation and saw that Song Ning's face and clothes were covered in dirt, and he was panting heavily.

Before Song Dahai could speak, Song Ning handed him the bucket in her hand: "Dad, you carry it for me first, it's too heavy."

Song Dahai looked at the water sloshing around in the bucket and felt heartbroken.

Liu Yuelan also rushed over and hugged Song Ning tightly: "Er Ya, where have you been? You scared your mother to death."

"I'm fine, I just couldn't sleep at night, so I went to get some water."

Only then did the others notice the bucket in Song Dahai's hand.

Liu Yuelan didn't know whether to laugh or cry, and cursed, "If you dare to go out alone again, see how I deal with you."

Song Ning smiled and said, "I understand."

Back in the middle of the group, the news quickly spread that Song Erya had stayed up all night to find water for them.

Liu Yuelan felt sorry for her daughter and told her to lie down in the car for a while, but Song Ning had slept so well last night, how could she possibly fall asleep?

This bucket of water, besides being used by people, can also leave some for the livestock.

After the water was brought back, many people gathered around.

Song Ning was fiddling with something in the car, then came out to inform everyone.

"Everyone can go back and get their bowls now. There's not much water, so each family can only get one bowl."

The crowd dispersed in a flash, only to swarm back in a moment later.

Actually, this bucket of water is quite a lot, but there are too many people to handle it.

With dozens of households, each household sharing a bowl of water, the bucket was almost empty.

Song Ning then carried the buckets of water and fed them to the cattle of each household. They didn't need to drink much; a few sips were enough.

People took the water back with them, reluctant to drink it themselves, saving it for the livestock.

If another cow dies from disease, they will be heartbroken.

Having water for the time being, though not much, is better than nothing, and everyone's spirits have improved considerably.

Many families in Dongyuan Village also gave food to Song Ning.

However, Song Ning refused. They had plenty of food, so why would they accept what others had saved from their own meals?

"You don't need to give me anything now. Once we're settled, I'll take whatever you give me."

Even with water available, Song Ning's brows remained furrowed.

There were many refugees traveling with them before, but since they took a detour, there are far fewer people on the road.

Chu Ning looked into the distance and saw that the road was still littered with dead bodies, and there were very few living people.

After walking for several days, they hadn't seen anything but weeds, and Song Ning began to wonder if they had taken the wrong path.

Even if people died on the road, there couldn't possibly be this few, right?

Did all those people die?

The sun was scorching hot. Song Ning tried her best to cover her face, but her hands and arms were exposed and were a different color.

Putting aside others, even she was in despair, unable to see the way forward. What if she couldn't get out?

But since we've already come this far, it's not appropriate to turn back. So, we had no choice but to tell everyone to keep going.
