Chapter 25: Unexpected Disaster

Jiang Xiangxiang led Sheng Yunrong and Qin Moyuan to run all the way, through the winding paths in the mountains, and finally arrived at the carriage. Sheng Yunrong hugged her son tightly and said to Jiang Xiangxiang with a firm face: "After Madam Jiang arrives at the Qin Mansion, you can send us back directly. There is no need to go to the trouble of treating me."

Jiang Xiangxiang frowned and looked at Sheng Yunrong in confusion: "Sister Sheng, your injuries are very serious. If you don't get treatment, I'm afraid you won't be able to hold on for long. Why are you so determined?"

Sheng Yunrong smiled slightly, with a firm look in her eyes: "Madam Jiang, there are some things you don't need to know. I just want to return to the Qin Mansion as soon as possible. That's my home."

Qin Moyuan tightly grasped the corner of his mother's clothes, with a trace of fear in his eyes: "Mom, I'm scared..."

Sheng Yunrong gently stroked her son's hair and comforted him softly: "Don't be afraid, child. Mother will protect you. Mrs. Jiang will send us back."

Jiang Xiangxiang looked at the mother and son, and became more and more puzzled. But Sheng Yunrong must have her reasons for her decision.

So she stopped asking questions and helped Sheng Yunrong into the carriage.

The carriage was swaying along the mountain path. Sheng Yunrong hugged her son tightly, but her heart was surging.

Qin Moyuan looked at the scenery outside the car, his heart full of curiosity. He asked: "Mother, why are you in such a hurry to return to the Qin Mansion? Can't we go and treat your injury first?"

Sheng Yunrong smiled slightly, with a hint of tenderness in her eyes: "Child, there are some things you don't understand yet. But mother promises you that we will get through this safely."

Jiang Xiangxiang sat on the shaft of the cart, looking at the mother and son, feeling increasingly complicated.

Sheng Yunrong must have had her own reasons for making this decision, but she also knew that she could no longer interfere in the Qin family's affairs.

The carriage finally drove out of the mountain path and came to the official road. Jiang Xiangxiang jumped off the carriage and said to Sheng Yunrong: "Sister Sheng, the Qin Mansion is not far ahead. I will send you to the gate of the mansion and say goodbye."

Sheng Yunrong looked at Jiang Xiangxiang, with a hint of gratitude in her eyes: "Mrs. Jiang, thank you for accompanying me all the way. Although there are many misunderstandings between us, I am grateful for your help in my heart."

Jiang Xiangxiang smiled slightly: "Madam Sheng, take care. The affairs of the Qin Mansion are complicated, you should take care of yourself."

Qin Moyuan looked at Jiang Xiangxiang, with a hint of reluctance in his eyes: "Aunt Jiang, are you really leaving?"

Jiang Xiangxiang gently stroked Qin Moyuan's cheek and smiled, "Moyuan, you must remember that no matter what difficulties you encounter, you must be strong. Your mother is a brave person, you must be like her."

The carriage slowly drove towards the Qin Mansion. Sheng Yunrong hugged her son tightly, but her heart was surging.

Qin Moyuan carefully helped his injured mother Sheng Yunrong out of the carriage, fearing that she would fall again. Sheng Yunrong's forehead was sweating and her face was pale, but she still tried to remain calm and said to Qin Moyuan: "Yuan'er, no matter what happens, you just need to remember to cry."

A hint of doubt flashed across Qin Moyuan's eyes, but he still held his mother's hand tightly and nodded.

As soon as they reached the gate of Qin's house, Sheng Yunrong suddenly slipped and fell forward. Qin Moyuan reached out his hand hastily, but failed to catch her. He watched his mother fall to the ground. He burst into tears in grief, his voice piercing the silence of the night sky.

"Someone come quickly! The lady has fallen down!" The gatekeeper was awakened by Qin Moyuan's crying and shouted in panic.

A moment later, the maids and servants arrived one after another. When they saw Sheng Yunrong's bloody appearance, they turned pale and retreated, not daring to approach.

"Madam, how are you?" the maid Xiao Cui asked in a trembling voice, her eyes full of fear.

Sheng Yunrong endured the pain and said to Qin Moyuan, "Yuan'er, don't be afraid. Mom is fine. Go tell them to ask the doctor to come."

Qin Moyuan wiped away his tears and said hurriedly: "Quick, go get a doctor!"

The maids reacted and hurried to call the doctor. At this time, Sheng Yunrong said to the servants, "Why are you still standing there? Help the lady up quickly."

The servants hesitated for a moment, then carefully helped Sheng Yunrong up. Her clothes were stained with blood, but her face remained calm.

At this time, Madam Qin and Qin Wenyuan heard the noise at the gate and could not sit still. Madam Qin's face turned pale, she pushed the maid beside her away and walked quickly to the gate. Qin Wenyuan followed closely behind, secretly guessing what happened at the gate.

At the gate of Qin's house, Sheng Yunrong was lying on the ground, her clothes were disheveled, her hair was messy, her pretty face was as pale as paper, and there was blood on the corner of her mouth. The people around her were pointing and talking. Sheng Yunrong's maid stood aside in panic, at a loss.

Old Madam Qin walked over to Sheng Yunrong and looked at her miserable state. She felt a pain in her heart. She widened her eyes, glared at the people around her, and asked loudly, "What's going on? Who dares to commit a crime in front of the Qin Mansion?"

The maid stepped forward tremblingly and whispered back, "Madam, it was Madam Sheng Yunrong who was beaten. When we arrived, she was already lying on the ground."

When Madam Qin heard this, her face became even uglier. She stared at Sheng Yunrong, with a hint of confusion and anger in her eyes. She turned to Qin Wenyuan and asked, "Wenyuan, what's going on? Your wife was beaten like this, don't you know anything about it?"

Qin Wenyuan looked guilty and lowered his head and replied, "Mother, I really didn't know. I was reading in the study just now, and I rushed out when I heard the noise at the door. I was about to ask for details, but mother got there first."

Madam Qin snorted coldly, turned to Sheng Yunrong, and said in a cold tone: "Sheng Yunrong, tell me, what is going on? Who dares to take action in front of the Qin Mansion?"

Sheng Yunrong endured the pain, tried to sit up straight, looked at Old Madam Qin, gritted her teeth, held back her tears, her whole body trembling and unable to speak.

Old Madam Qin frowned. She looked at Sheng Yunrong and couldn't help but feel a little puzzled. She turned to Qin Wenyuan and asked, "Wenyuan, do you know the truth of the matter?"

Qin Wenyuan shook his head and sighed: "Mother, I really don't know. I was in the study just now and came out when I heard the noise. I only know that Sheng Yunrong was beaten, but as for the reason, I really don't know anything."

Upon hearing this, Old Madam Qin frowned and felt more and more puzzled.

Sheng Yunrong cried bitterly, "It's all my fault. I shouldn't have gone to the temple to worship Buddha, and I shouldn't have insulted Lingmeng with the Buddha statue. I was wrong, please punish me, mother."

Madam Qin's wrinkled face showed seriousness and dissatisfaction. She glanced at Sheng Yunrong with sharp eyes and said coldly: "Is Ling Meng the ghost you are talking about that brought trouble to the Qin family?"

Sheng Yunrong was slightly stunned, and nodded hurriedly: "It's her. I know I'm sorry to the Qin family and my mother. I'm willing to take responsibility for everything."

Madam Qin frowned, her face becoming increasingly serious: "Do you know that Ling Meng is a big hidden danger for our Qin family? If she really attacks you for this reason, then our Qin family will suffer an unprovoked disaster!"
