Chapter 13 The Nanny's Niece's Counterattack
After disassembling and reassembling twice, Lin Wei basically remembered how to assemble it. Compared to memorizing, hands-on practice suited her better.
Fang Yihuai noticed this as well. "Your hands are quite steady." Could it be because girls are more meticulous?
Lin Wei glanced at her hands; they were alright. She didn't think he couldn't install it; he probably sensed she wouldn't remember, so he gave her the chance to practice.
Surprisingly, he was quite kind.
Next, Zhang Mo recounted all the knowledge he knew, saying, "Time is limited, so we can only try to learn as quickly as possible. We don't need to know everything, but we should at least have a basic understanding."
Lin Wei and Fang Yihuai had no objection to this.
In those few hours, they did nothing but exchange the information they had collected.
Lin Wei was somewhat relieved that she had asked the system teacher a few more questions during her class in the system space, so she did have something to say.
Her confident demeanor, as she spoke fluently, was certainly not at all like the academic underachiever she thought she was.
She filled in the gaps in the information that Zhang Mo hadn't mentioned. Although the two didn't know where she got the information from, as teammates, they chose to believe her.
This made Lin Wei feel quite relaxed. She hated being asked all sorts of questions, and if she were to actually ask, she wouldn't know how to explain where she got the information.
On the other hand, Gao Fuya and the other two were not so harmonious. Disputes arose from the very beginning because of what they were going to research. Since Qin Siyu had participated in the competition, he was aiming to win an award, so he would naturally raise any objections.
In addition, another teammate was also a proud and arrogant person who had his own things he wanted to study, so the three of them inevitably had a conflict.
But at this point, Gao Fuya's coordination skills came into play: "Since everyone has something they want to research, let's talk about our respective strengths and applications, and how confident we are in developing this research."
"Our first priority is not to win awards, but to successfully develop the technology. Otherwise, what's the point of talking about winning?"
Because of this, they quickly chose a topic for Qin Siyu. His topic and research project were approved by his brother, making him far superior to the two half-baked individuals.
Across the country, there are many participants like them, all busy preparing for this competition. Among them are many people with outstanding achievements and rich competition experience.
"I must win this match."
"Brother Zhan Ling, this time the first prize is definitely yours."
Some people participate in competitions not to win, but simply to exchange ideas with outstanding students from all over the world.
In order to understand better, Lin Wei went into the system space and asked the teacher a few more questions, some of which were related to university-level knowledge. Although the teacher found her annoying and didn't want to answer, he eventually told her some things after she persisted.
This made Lin Wei feel as if she had discovered some kind of bug; it turns out this works too.
I originally thought that everything in the system space was rigid, but now it seems that it is rigid within the scope of rules.
Because of this, Lin Wei went directly into the system space whenever she had a problem, and her learning and understanding progress was no slower than Zhang Mo and Fang Yihuai.
"That's impressive." Fang Yihuai was amazed by her learning speed. No wonder she was able to go from being at the bottom to where she is now. Her learning efficiency is amazing.
Lin Wei modestly replied, "It's alright, it's alright." When the two weren't paying attention, she touched her slightly reddened earlobe, realizing she was too easily flattered.
Who would have thought she'd be praised by a genius? It must have felt like recognition. Because of her good mood, Lin Wei's motivation to study increased even more. It's just a competition, right? Could it possibly be that difficult for her? No way.
Fang Yihuai and Zhang Mo exchanged a glance, a hint of admiration flashing in their eyes. Under such intense pressure, she could still maintain such a good mood. Lin Wei's good mood was also evident in her humming; although her voice was soft, it was still clear she sang quite well.
This greatly alleviated the boredom and tedium of the early stages of the competition. Staring at these parts and materials all day long, if you had any ideas, it would be very exciting, but if you didn't, it would only make you feel irritable and impatient. And that's exactly what they were stuck on right now.
An hour later, Fang Yihuai looked at the stagnant research and threw down the things in his hand. "What a piece of junk research." He was getting annoyed by it all. He wondered why he had ever thought of participating in this competition.
He is willing to spend time on subjects he likes, but he feels it's a waste of time to spend even a second on things he doesn't like.
Math is so much easier! He misses those numbers and symbols.
Lin Wei glanced at him, her eyes hesitant. Should she say something to comfort him? At this moment, Zhang Mo said to her, "Don't mind him, he's just saying it." People have to be allowed to complain.
"I never expected him to have such an expression," Lin Wei thought to herself. She had always thought these geniuses could handle any problem perfectly well. At that moment, Lin Wei felt even more amazing about herself.
Perhaps because she had been in the system space for so long, although she found the process quite tedious, it wasn't unbearable. After all, the kind of tedium that comes from studying in the system space for three years at once is far more outrageous.
Thinking about it this way, that system space isn't without its advantages; at least it can train a person's patience and concentration.
After saying that, Fang Yihuai rested for five minutes, then resignedly got up and continued. Zhang Mo understood him well in this respect.
Lin Wei suppressed her curiosity about whether they knew each other beforehand, her gaze falling on the parts in front of her, feeling a bit of a headache. Her head was throbbing. With her current knowledge, dealing with these problems was going to be difficult.
However, she had learned a great deal in the past few days, far more than what she could learn from textbooks. But the more she learned, the more she marveled at the extraordinary abilities of Fang Yihuai and Zhang Mo. She could only create things like this because of the system space, while they were truly amazing, relying solely on their intelligence.
During this time, the physics teacher also inquired about their progress. When he heard that they were stumped by a problem, he said, "I'll ask my tutor for you and see if he has any insights."
Lin Wei nodded, "Thank you, teacher." But it's okay even if she can't help. After all, everyone has their own area of expertise, and it's normal not to know anything about this area if you're not an expert in it.
The three of them didn't expect anyone else to solve the problem, and they spent even more time there. Zhou Xueqing and the other students often saw them scribbling and drawing after class. Someone peeked over, found they couldn't understand what they were doing, and their awe of them deepened.
Since they were all in the same class, Gao Fuya naturally saw their efforts and became even more nervous. Besides wanting to win an award, she also wanted to prove to Zhang Mo that he had been blind to choose someone else.
She is stronger than Lin Wei.
So soon, her classmates noticed that she had started rolling up her hair too. Thinking about the competition they had participated in, a few of them had looked it up out of curiosity, only to realize it was better not to. They were all in the same class, how come everyone was so amazing? Those who had initially entered Class One hoping to make a name for themselves resigned themselves to their fate. "Why did fate create both Zhou Yu and Zhuge Liang?" they thought. With the aura of those few shining brightly, they had no chance of standing out.
Fortunately, the next day, the physics teacher brought the three of them good news: "Although my advisor does not study this field, he knows someone who does, and he has agreed to mentor you."
Because of this, Fang Yihuai, Zhang Mo, and Lin Wei exchanged a glance, their expressions flashing with joy. "Really? Then, teacher, how should we contact him?"
The physics teacher gave them a contact number: "Just add this number. His last name is Xu. You can call him Professor Xu."
"Thank you, teacher." All three smiled, even Zhang Mo, who usually had a blank expression, had a hint of amusement in his eyes. Although they were confident they could resolve the issue with a little more time, no one wanted to be bothered by someone asking questions.
At this moment, far away at Ocean University, Professor Xu Hongyuan looked at a question posted by his old friend and found it somewhat interesting. "If you didn't know it was a question asked by a high school student, I would have thought it was asked by a college student or even a graduate student."
A colleague nearby overheard this and asked curiously, "Old Xu, what's so surprising about you?" It's not like he's simple-minded to hear something interesting coming from him.
Xu Hongyuan: "It's nothing, just a few kids asked a rather interesting question. If it were asked by one of my graduate students, I wouldn't be surprised at all, but it was asked by three high school students, and I heard they're only in their first year of high school, so that's quite something."
"Once they add me, I'll test how far they've come in."
Since it was impossible to contact him using three different accounts, Fang Yihuai, Zhang Mo, and Lin Wei decided that the three of them would add him together and then add him to a group chat.
