Chapter 8: As long as you don't die from lying, lie until you die (1/2)

Zheng Fangshu naturally had no defenses against his biological mother.

He told the truth: "Back when the boiler factory and the cotton mill held a get-together, I heard from others that Zhou Yue's father was a pilot, and that he died while test-flying a newly purchased fighter jet for the Air Force. He was a martyr. Zhou Yue is the only descendant of the martyr, and I heard that she enjoys many preferential treatments, with a condolence payment of several hundred yuan every year."

"I was thinking that after I married Zhou Yue, I could use her father's status as a martyr to get some benefits for myself. Maybe by pulling some strings with her father's old colleagues, I could even get a transfer to the airport. Airport work is easy and the salary is high, hundreds of times better than the boiler factory!"

"But after we got married, I found out that Zhou Yue didn't associate with those people at all. When I tried to talk to them, they wouldn't listen to me at all."

“Zhou Yue is timid and cowardly, not my type. She can’t let me work at the airport. The key is that the owner and property rights of her house cannot be changed. If I continue to be with her, I will get nothing except living in that little villa!”

“Zhilan is different from Zhou Yue. Zhilan is feisty, and that’s exactly what I like about her. Besides, her father is the head of the personnel department. If I marry Zhilan, I’ll definitely become a section chief by the end of the year. Zhilan also said that she’ll definitely help me get promoted two more times within two years…”

Liang Guiying understood.

From the very beginning, Zheng Fangshu regarded his marriage to Zhou Yue as a stepping stone to advancement. After failing to achieve his goal, he immediately sought a better opportunity elsewhere.

The son she raised with such care is selfish, cold-hearted, and a scumbag to the core.

Liang Guiying was disappointed and angry, but in the end she suppressed all of these emotions.

“People strive for better things. My son is so outstanding, he deserves a better future. Zhou Yue is useless, so we'll replace her. You did a great job.”

Liang Guiying stopped looking at Zheng Fangshu: "You write up an agreement that you and Xiaonian are severing your father-daughter relationship. I'll take it to Zhou Yue to put her fingerprint on later. With this proof, she won't dare to come to you for money in the future."

Zheng Fangshu thought to himself that his biological mother was still on his side after all.

He immediately found paper and pen and quickly wrote down the agreement.

Zheng Fangshu had beautiful handwriting, which was once Liang Guiying's source of pride in the village.

When he was a child, he copied down the quotations of great leaders, which Liang Guiying still kept carefully in a drawer at home. Now, however, he is writing words that sever ties with his own daughter, cold and ruthless.

Liang Guiying resisted the urge to smash her scumbag son to death with a brick and reminded Zheng Fangshu, "Xiaonian has already changed his surname to Zhou."

Zheng Fangshu paused: "So you changed your surname already?"

“I asked them to change it.” Liang Guiying said without changing her expression. “Once the surname is changed, they become outsiders. Plus, with this agreement, you’ll win no matter where she sues.”

"Mom, you've thought things through perfectly."

Zheng Fangshu quickly wrote out the agreement, solemnly signed it, and pressed his fingerprint before handing it to Liang Guiying: "By the way, Mom, Zhilan agreed to go with me to get the marriage certificate today. Shall I bring Zhilan over for you to see first? She's a good girl."

—Would a good woman be with another woman's husband while she is in postpartum confinement?

Liang Guiying swallowed those words. She read the agreement through and, finding no problems, put it away.

She glanced at Zheng Fangshu and said, "I won't go to see him. You all need to keep a low profile."

"I'll take the things I brought yesterday to Zhou Yue later, and stay there for a while. A thousand yuan and so many coupons, you don't know how long it would have taken you to save up that much. I have to find a way to coax the money back."

Zheng Fangshu breathed a sigh of relief. He had wondered why his mother had been so quick to tell him to give the money to Zhou Yue yesterday; it turned out she had planned it all along.

With his mother's abilities, she could get that thousand yuan back with interest in ten days at most.
