Chapter Twenty-Nine: The Design Company (The Sixth Sense, Dead for Many Years, Suddenly Returns)
Inside the stadium.
The atmosphere at the scene was very high, and unsuspecting fans screamed and shouted their idol's name.
Having finally arrived at the long-awaited concert venue, Lin Qin should have been enjoying himself to the fullest. However, the thought of the injured people outside dampened his enthusiasm, and no matter how hard he tried, he couldn't immerse himself in the experience.
Yunxin held a glow stick and waved it energetically.
As I waved, I thought to myself, no wonder they hire strong and healthy employees; chasing after celebrities is a physically demanding activity.
Don't be fooled by how light glow sticks are; holding them high and waving them around can actually be quite tiring.
If glow sticks are like this, imagine what happens to light boards.
Fortunately, in order to save his boss, Brother Zhao had "no choice" but to throw away the light stick...
Yunxin herself isn't a fan of celebrities, but this happened to be a heavy metal rock concert. Aside from the noise and commotion, she couldn't hear anything else.
The fans around her were really into it; after they finished, they started screaming, which made her eardrums hurt even more...
When the concert ended and Yunxin walked out of the stadium, she was completely stunned.
Lin Qin was preoccupied with this, and as soon as he came out, he took out his phone to search.
"Inadequate supervision led to a stampede tragedy at the concert! Currently, 15 are dead and 27 are injured!"
Lin Qin was stunned when he saw the headline.
I clicked in to take a closer look and found out that someone had invited friends to a concert on their birthday, planning to have a blast. But when they got to the entrance, the crowd was so dense that they had difficulty breathing and couldn't even get into the stadium; they ended up in an ambulance and were taken to the hospital.
That's not so bad, he was just injured.
Some people even suffocated due to difficulty breathing.
Even worse were the victims who fell down; they were reportedly trampled dozens of times before they died.
The situation was so horrific that it was shocking.
Lin Qin dared not look any longer, quickly closed the page and exited, putting his phone back in his pocket.
Brother Zhao sighed, "We've told you so many times at home that the outside world is dangerous and you shouldn't wander around, but you just won't listen."
Lin Qin felt inexplicably wronged, saying, "Before watching this concert, I had no idea it would be this good."
How many accidents have happened in just a few days? And they are all major incidents with countless deaths and injuries.
He began to wonder if he was being targeted by Death, otherwise why would he encounter him so frequently?
Sometimes Lin Qin even secretly wondered if this series of misfortunes was brought about by Yun Xin.
Ever since she started working here, he's been living in a horror movie, his nerves constantly on edge, never daring to relax for a second.
However, this was just his private speculation, and there was no evidence to prove that the speculation was correct.
If it was all just a coincidence, he would feel guilty and even be tormented by his conscience if he attributed the mistake to Yun Xin, the great contributor.
"I've thought about it for a long time and I'm planning to close the company and go home," Lin Qin said in a low voice. "So, stop nagging me."
Everything has its gains and losses.
After being repeatedly battered by reality, Lin Qin no longer possessed the naivety and fearlessness of a young man; his mentality had become as weathered as that of a forty-year-old.
He began to learn to compromise with reality and find easier and safer ways to live.
Brother Zhao paused, looking at the vengeful boss in surprise—he never expected such a surprise to await him today.
My family had already told the boss, who was prone to accidents, that there had been frequent incidents in recent years.
The boss, a spoiled brat, wouldn't listen, thinking disaster wouldn't befall him. He insisted on starting his own company and hiring employees to chase after celebrities.
There was no other way but to send two bodyguards to protect him.
That grudge boss is really good at making trouble, running from one city to another, chasing after one celebrity after another.
There have been incidents before, but they were all minor and easily resolved.
As a result, the boss acted as if nothing had happened, completely unconcerned, and continued to do as he pleased.
The recent accidents have been too dangerous and involved a wide range of people; he's almost at his breaking point.
After several close encounters with death, the resentful boss finally woke up, agreed to go home, and stopped causing trouble.
At that moment, Brother Zhao was overwhelmed with emotion and suddenly couldn't hold back anymore. Most importantly, he felt that he had finally made it through!
On the other side, Lin Qin looked at Yun Xin and said, "I've decided to close the company. Let's part ways amicably. When it's time to settle accounts, I'll give you an extra three months' salary. If you're not satisfied, just tell me and we'll discuss it further."
Yunxin was not dissatisfied.
After attending the concert, even she wanted to quit her job and change careers.
Since everyone's going to leave anyway, it doesn't matter if the boss dissolves the company.
"No need to discuss it anymore, let's just leave it at that," Yun Xin said.
Lin Qin breathed a sigh of relief.
Regardless of whether the disaster was caused by Yun Xin, he subconsciously wanted to stay away from her.
Don't ask why.
The question is that his sixth sense, which had been dead for many years, suddenly returned and was secretly warning him.
Although the company is about to close down, I am currently on a business trip and cannot just leave people in another city.
The thought of having to travel for six days to get back made Lin Qin's face turn green.
"Let's take the train," Yunxin suggested. "Forget about the plane. If something happens, we'll have nowhere to escape to."
"Okay, I'll do as you say," Lin Qin agreed.
He even bought his own ticket and chose his own seat.
I always feel that the ones I choose smell better and are safer than the ones others pick randomly.
I don't know where that confidence came from.
While Lin Qin was engrossed in choosing a seat, Brother Zhao walked over to Yun Xin and whispered, "Thank you so much for the journey."
Yun Xin humbly stated, "I didn't do anything special; everyone was just lucky to survive."
Brother Zhao said, "Even if you keep saying that your sixth sense is sometimes right and sometimes wrong, being able to hit the mark repeatedly is still a skill."
Yun Xin paused, but did not reply.
Brother Zhao continued, "Next time you encounter a disaster, try to save as many people as possible; it will benefit you."
After saying that, without waiting for Yun Xin's reaction, he walked to the side of the vengeful boss and loyally guarded him.
Yunxin suddenly had a premonition—Brother Zhao was not only a player, but also a player who knew about the situation.
He knew about the evolution game and that she possessed high spiritual power, enabling her to sense danger in advance.
Lin Qin's family may also know, but they are too ashamed to say it, which is why they sent bodyguards to protect Lin Qin.
But Lin Qin, young and fearless, ran around the world recklessly.
You can either take a plane or a train.
When the accident occurred, Brother Zhao, despite his abilities, was powerless to stop it. He couldn't even guarantee his own safety, let alone protect his boss!
No wonder that after the plane crash, Brother Zhao always disliked his boss and was filled with a strange atmosphere of "giving up, giving up the struggle, not wanting to work, and wanting to quit the boss".
After figuring it out, Yunxin smiled gently and silently felt sorry for Brother Zhao.
Have a safe journey back.
Upon arriving in the city where she was to live, Yunxin politely said goodbye and saw off another boss.
Although there was no significant financial loss and the boss is doing well, it may have left an indelible emotional scar.
In the past, concerts equaled idol worship and happiness.
From now on, concerts will equal idol worship, a desperate escape, and embarrassment.
To make matters worse, the stampede occurred amidst considerable chaos. Passersby were shocked by the scene and took many pictures.
This precious moment of Lin Qin riding on Zhao Ge's shoulders was captured on camera...
Just before parting ways, the boss received a notification on his phone. He opened it and found it was a photo of himself.
The expression on his face at that moment could only be described as despair.
Yunxin felt suffocated just thinking about the embarrassment of having his dark history forced to be made public.
In comparison, she didn't feel much about something as trivial as seeing off a new boss every week.
Having just finished a job, Yunxin was planning to take a break when she unexpectedly received an interview invitation.
Yunxin was surprised that a company would proactively contact her without her having to send out resumes to many companies. Considering how rare this opportunity was, she canceled her vacation plans and went to interview at the new company instead.
The new company is a food factory, and they are hiring for a sales position in the sales department.
Low base salary, low commission, only one day off per week, and frequent overtime and business trips—no wonder they can't find anyone.
Yunxin wasn't picky about jobs and joined the company with a "let's see how it goes" attitude, becoming a proud intern.
9 a.m.
Yunxin is photocopying documents.
She was new to the job and not yet familiar with the factory's products, so she wasn't qualified to discuss business. The department manager assigned her odd jobs, such as printing and photocopying documents, and preparing coffee for meetings.
During a busy moment, the sound of high heels clicking away could be heard.
"The data will be needed soon, are you ready?" An Caiyun, who joined the company two years before her, came over to talk to her.
"No," Yun Xin replied calmly.
"Why are you dawdling like this?" An Caiyun frowned. "Can't you put a little more effort into your work?"
"The manager said the meeting is at 10 o'clock, and the materials need to be prepared before then." Yunxin glanced at the clock, her tone still slow and deliberate. "There's enough time."
“But I need it now,” An Caiyun said, dissatisfied.
"Then you can make the copies first." Yun Xin took the documents and quietly moved aside. "I'm not in a hurry. I can use the copier later."
An Caiyun choked.
She wanted Yunxin to make copies quickly and then hand the documents to her. How did it become that she was in a hurry to make copies?
“I have other things to do and don’t have time to make copies. Since you’re free, can you make a copy for me?” An Caiyun assigned Yun Xin extra work without further ado.
"Oh, I'll make the copies for you after I finish the work my boss assigned me," Yunxin said in her usual slow tone.
For some reason, An Caiyun felt angry just looking at Yun Xin's expression. She emphasized, "Make the copies for me first."
"No, I don't have time," Yun Xin said softly. "I need to finish the work assigned by my supervisor first before I can help you."
An Caiyun was furious, but she couldn't say that the task she had assigned was more important than the task her superior had assigned. In the end, she could only leave grumbling, "You're slow at doing things, but you're quick with your tongue! If you had the energy to argue, you would have finished the work long ago."
After everyone left, Yunxin made copies while wondering to herself, "Wouldn't this be considered workplace bullying?"
The manager assigns a task and gives a deadline.
The veteran employee insisted on interfering and bringing forward the deadline.
With only so many people in a department, whose orders should we listen to?
Does everyone think they're someone special, and that newcomers have to listen to what they say?
Unfortunately, I met her; she wouldn't tolerate those bad habits.
Yunxin leisurely photocopied the documents, not in a hurry at all.
An Caiyun said she urgently needed the documents, and felt that if she didn't get them, the factory would go bankrupt the next second. As a result, Yunxin was in no hurry and methodically copied and organized all the documents without any problems.
The meeting is about to begin.
Yunxin is preparing coffee in the break room.
Suddenly, the sound of arguing came from outside the door.
An Caiyun: "You little bastard! Don't think I don't know you've been playing dirty tricks behind my back!"
A helpless male voice rang out, "Who in the factory doesn't know that you, An Caiyun, like to bully colleagues with less seniority than you? Haven't you made enough of a scene? Can't you calm down and talk things out properly?"
An Caiyun: "I have nothing to say to you. We'll see...we'll see."
The conversation came to an abrupt end.
The sound of high heels clicking on the ground gradually faded into the distance.
Yunxin pretended not to hear and continued making coffee.
