Chapter 118 Invitation
"Yu'an, you and Hanyue's wedding photos will be taken this afternoon, right?"
Sheng Yuan responded absentmindedly, and Fu Wenying frowned helplessly.
"Yuan, you're getting married next week, so focus on it. Don't be like before."
Hearing this, Sheng Yuan's face changed.
He knew that Zhou Hanyue had asked someone to whisper in his mother's ear.
"Mom, I know. I'll be there on time this afternoon."
As Sheng Yu'an said, he showed up at the shooting site on time in the afternoon.
Zhou Hanyue was indeed a little worried that she would not come.
She couldn't afford to have a scandal involving her newlywed husband standing her up at their wedding photo shoot.
If she did that, she would be laughed to death by her sisters in the circle.
They are sisters, but their friendship is just superficial!
She knew that some people were secretly laughing at her behind her back, after all, Sheng Yu'an had such a rich love history.
They just wanted to see her make a fool of herself and see her being abandoned by Sheng Yu'an.
But Zhou Hanyue was holding her breath in her heart. She didn't want to do that. She wanted to disappoint them!
"Yu'an, you're here. Go try on some clothes!"
Sheng Yu'an looked at Zhou Hanyue in her wedding dress with a complicated expression.
He found that Zhou Hanyue was different from Wen Ning, who enjoyed being pampered, and also different from Wen Yu, who was selfless and devoted.
She was too shrewd, and the shrewd Sheng Yu'an didn't like her very much.
But who made them sleep in a daze?
"Well, wait a moment."
The photographer looked at the newlyweds, feeling somewhat helpless.
"Hey, groom, look at the bride. Yes, can you be a little more expressive?"
"You two are too far apart. Move your faces closer. Bridegroom, lower your head. That's right!"
After some instructions, he finally got the two people to take a few acceptable photos.
This was simply the most bizarre shoot in his career, and it almost ended in failure.
If it were Wen Yu, she would be disappointed; if it were Wen Ning, she would question him angrily, but Zhou Hanyue didn't complain at all.
She didn't seem to notice his deliberate alienation and perfunctory attitude, which made Sheng Yu'an dislike her even more.
"Yuan, shall we go eat together?"
Sheng Yuan shook his head, "No, I have things to do at the company."
He seemed to feel that he was too cold, and added: "Where do you want to eat? I'll take you there."
Zhou Hanyue shook her head. "That's not necessary. My driver will come to pick me up. You go ahead and do your work. I'll eat by myself."
There is no grievance or sadness at all.
Sheng Yu'an looked at the woman who disappeared into the night, lost in thought.
Does Zhou Hanyue really not care, or is she just pretending?
-
A few days later, when Wen Yu and Fu Jinnian were having dinner at the old house, they received an invitation from Fu Wenying.
Fu Wenying was originally hesitant about whether to ask Fu Jinnian to participate.
But if Fu Jinnian goes, it will be more prestigious than if his uncle goes.
There was no way around it. Wherever Fu Jinnian went, he was the center of attention. Moreover, if he could go, it would mean that his relationship with the Sheng family was still as good as before, which would be more beneficial to the Sheng family.
Fu Jinnian saw the invitation and turned to look at Wen Yu: "Are you free today?"
Fu Wenying was surprised. She didn't expect that Fu Jinnian would actually hand over all the choices to Wen Yu.
She looked at Wen Yu with burning eyes, expecting her to give an answer.
Wen Yu also looked at Fu Jinnian.
If she were to ask herself honestly, she certainly didn't want to go, but if she put herself in Fu Jinnian's shoes, she would have far more benefits going than not going.
Wen Yu smiled and said, "I'll listen to you. I don't have any plans for today."
It seemed like the choice was thrown back to him. Fu Jinnian understood, "Well, cousin, I'll check my schedule in a few days. I should go if I'm free."
Fu Wenying smiled, but no one could tell how much bitterness and dissatisfaction was hidden in her smile.
-
Zhou Hanyue heard that Wen Yu was going to attend their wedding.
She particularly disliked the Wen family. When she thought about the fact that Wen Yu had been engaged to Sheng Yu'an, she felt as if a hundred ants were crawling through her heart, and she felt unhappy.
But she had no right to refuse.
Zhou Hanyue's company happened to have some business dealings with the Sheng family. She used the excuse of going to the marketing department and saw Wen Yu by chance.
Zhou Hanyue stood beside Wen Yu with a smile on her face. "Hello, do you have time to chat?"
Wen Yu naturally recognized her.
Fu Jiaxin was not at her workstation, and some curious colleagues cast inquiring glances at her.
Obviously, the office was not a good place to have a conversation, so Wen Yu took Zhou Hanyue to a small conference room.
The door was ajar, and she crossed her arms over her chest. "What do you want to talk about?"
Zhou Hanyue sneered, "Of course we're talking about men. I heard you're coming to Sheng Yu'an and my wedding?"
Wen Yu raised her eyelids, "So?"
"I don't want you to go."
Zhou Hanyue's expression no longer had the emotion she had when facing Sheng Yu'an. "Wen Yu, don't you feel disgusted? Just like at your wedding, I remember you sent Sheng Yu'an far away. Why are you attending his wedding now?"
"I don't want my husband to be distracted by another woman at my wedding."
Wen Yu didn't expect Zhou Hanyue to be so frank, but she could only apologize, "Fu Jinnian is Sheng Yuan's uncle, so it's perfectly normal for him to attend his nephew's wedding. If you mind, you can talk to your mother-in-law and ask them to take back the invitation they gave us."
Wen Yu wanted to leave after she finished speaking, but Zhou Hanyue stopped her.
"Wen Yu, you know very well that I can't possibly convince my mother-in-law, are you deliberately making things difficult for me?"
"Or do you still have feelings for Yu An?"
"You have to ruin his wedding to be happy?"
Faced with Zhou Hanyue's unreasonable behavior, she laughed out of anger.
Wen Yu narrowed her eyes and looked at Zhou Hanyue, whose expression was a little distorted. She couldn't help but sigh in her heart, another brainless woman.
"I have no interest in his wedding or who he's marrying. I only went because my husband is his uncle and I wanted to look good."
"Otherwise, do you think your wedding banquet is some kind of Manchu-Han banquet worth my tasting?"
Zhou Hanyue's face was filled with anger, "You!"
"Don't think I'll really believe you just because you say that."
Suddenly, the door to the conference room was gently pushed open. "So what if you don't believe it?"
The two looked at the same time, only to see Fu Jinnian's face was filled with joking, "Ms. Zhou, my wife is not blind."
"Why do you think that after choosing me, she would still be interested in other men?"
Wen Yu: “…”
What she said was true, but why did she sound so narcissistic?
"Let's go, wife, it's time for lunch."
Wen Yu didn't even look at Zhou Hanyue and followed Fu Jinnian out of the office.
When she saw her team leader Han Xu, alarm bells started ringing in her heart.
Oops, I almost forgot, this is still their department!
"Mr. Fu, I will treat Miss Zhou well, don't worry!" Wen Yu said loudly.
Fu Jinnian glanced sideways, and after seeing Han Xu, he pursed his lips and said, "Well, there's no need to entertain me. It's okay, just go and get busy."
After Fu Jinnian left, Han Xu walked to Wen Yu.
"What did Mr. Fu say about hospitality just now?"
Wen Yu pointed to the conference room and said, "There's a difficult client in there. I'm going to get busy now, Team Leader Han."
Then Zhou Hanyue looked at Wen Yu who had just left and walked back to the meeting room.
Zhou Hanyue:?
Wen Yu sat down naturally. "It's okay. I just wanted to see if you had left. If you're fine, go ahead. Goodbye."
Zhou Hanyue: ....
