Chapter 15 "From now on, Wen Yu will have nothing to do with the Wen family."
Sheng Yu'an looked at Wen Yu's back as she walked away, frowning in thought.
He didn't believe a single word Wen Yu said just now.
It was all just angry talk, how could he possibly believe it?
"Aunt, my grandfather hasn't seen Wen Yu for a long time and wants her to come home for dinner. We're also going to have our wedding next month, and Wen Yu has taken a few days off. Can you tell her when she comes home?"
Sheng Yu'an threw the question to the Wen family.
Zeng Manli was slightly startled when she received the call, then smiled and said, "Haha, okay, Yu An, you're so thoughtful. I'll definitely tell her to visit Mr. Sheng."
After hanging up the phone, Zeng Manli realized that Wen Yu had not been home for several days.
She is neither in the company nor at home. Where did she go?
Wen Yu sat in the ward, closing her eyes for a nap. Last night in the corridor outside the ward, she hadn't sat properly at all.
I hadn't slept for a while when the director came to check on me.
"Miss Wen, we have a vacant single room with a bed for a caregiver. Would you mind if you could change the ward for the elderly man?"
Wen Yu was overjoyed when she heard this.
"Then please ask the Director to talk to the head nurse and arrange for us to change wards."
Grandma Xia had been in a coma, so she didn't have many personal belongings, just a basin, a towel, and a few pieces of clothing.
Wen Yu packed up quickly and moved directly to a single room.
It must be said that the conditions of this single room were really good. The independent bathroom inside was also very clean. She suspected that it was not usually open to the public.
She thought of Professor Zhong who had appeared out of nowhere today, and a hint of doubt flashed across her brows, "Head nurse, was Professor Zhong invited by your director today?"
The head nurse glanced at Wen Yu and said, "Our director can't afford to hire such a big shot. Professor Zhong usually has to schedule surgeries three months in advance. Basically, the success rate of surgeries performed by him is twice as high as others."
"Our director was also surprised that Professor Zhong could come today. Miss Wen, isn't this the connection you made?"
Wen Yu didn’t know who had helped her silently, but it was definitely not arranged by the Sheng family.
Or maybe instead of helping her, help Grandma Xia?
When Wen Yu was confused, her cell phone rang.
She exited the ward and went to the stairwell.
"Wen Yu, you haven't been home or to work recently. Where have you been?"
Wen Yu listened to her mother's questioning tone, her brows slightly furrowed. "I won't be going back in the future. Didn't Aunt Liu tell you?"
Zeng Manli was originally lying on the sofa, but when she suddenly heard Wen Yu say this, her heart skipped a beat and she sat up straight in an instant.
"What do you mean you won't come back? What? Do you think you can abandon your parents' home now that you're marrying into the Sheng family and have grown strong enough?"
Zeng Manli almost roared: "Wen Yu, who taught you to forget your roots!"
Wen Yu pursed her lips as she listened to her words, with only a sneer in her heart.
"Mom, this is the last time I'll call you that. I've taken all my personal belongings from my bedroom. I haven't taken any of the clothes and bags you bought me before. As for the card you used to give me pocket money since I was a child, I haven't touched a cent of it either. I've put it in the first drawer of my dresser."
"Next to that card, there's another bank card with the password 888999. The money in it is my tuition for three years of high school. I paid for my university tuition and living expenses by working part-time. I didn't use a single cent of your money."
"From now on, the Wen family will only have one daughter, Wen Ning. As for me, just pretend that I've never been back to the Wen family and died outside. Of course, my engagement with the Sheng family no longer exists. I won't marry Sheng Yu'an, and I won't return to your family."
"Perhaps at the age of sixteen, I longed for family affection. I longed for you to comfort me and hug me gently when I was sad, just like you did to Wen Ning. But you didn't do that even once."
"You may never know this, but my shoe size is 37, and Wen Ning wears 36. My waist is 53, and all the clothes you bought for me were sized according to Wen Ning, so the clothes in my closet don't fit me. Even when it comes to food, Wen Ning loves seafood the most, and I'm allergic to all seafood."
"Mom, you must be thinking, I haven't told you all this. When I was hospitalized due to a seafood allergy, you blamed me for this, but you still made an all-seafood feast for the next dinner."
"Later, I learned that some relationships, even those connected by blood, are still fragile. Back then, I was mistakenly taken away and thrown into an orphanage, and I could never return to my original home. It's said that when I was thrown into the orphanage, it was a beautiful spring day, so the director named me Wen Yu."
"So, I am Wen Nuan's Wen, not the Wen family's Wen. From now on, Wen Yu will have nothing to do with the Wen family."
"Hang up."
After the call was hung up, Zeng Manli's face was blank.
What did my daughter say just now? She said she wanted to leave the Wen family and have nothing to do with them in the future?
But she is her biological daughter, the one she gave birth to after ten months of pregnancy and the one she had to go through a lot of effort to find. How could she not have a relationship with her?
Zeng Manli wanted to find evidence that Wen Yu was just angry with them, so she ran upstairs, pushed open the door of her small bedroom, and pulled open the drawer.
The two bank cards lying quietly inside were like two slaps in the face.
Zeng Manli was panicked and opened the wardrobe with trembling fingers. All the bags and clothes looked brand new as if they had never been worn.
When Wen Yu returned to Wenjia High School, she could still wear her school uniform. However, when she went to college, she worked part-time to pay for her studies and bought herself cheap clothes. However, she was often ridiculed by Wen Ning's group of sisters as a country bumpkin who was not presentable.
Wen Yu's closest relatives were completely unaware of this.
The wedding dress that day was just the last straw that broke the camel's back.
Wen Yu saw clearly and wanted to stay away from them.
Zeng Manli fell down on the bed, "How could it be, why would Xiaoyu leave?"
Zeng Manli was absent-minded until dinner time. She even forgot to ask why Wen Ning hadn't returned at 7 o'clock.
At the dinner table, Wen Yanqing was peeling shrimp shells slowly. "Mom, Yu An said Ning Ning won't be coming back to sleep today. She and Shu Tang are sleeping at Sheng's house."
Wen Yanqing looked at her dazed mother, "Mom? What's wrong with you? Why are you still in a daze?"
Zeng Manli came back to her senses with a complicated expression. Should she tell her son that Wen Yu had run away from home?
She thought about it, shook her head, and thought, forget it, maybe she could go and coax Xiaoyu tomorrow and things would be fine.
"fine."
Zeng Manli stared at the shrimp in her son's hand and was stunned.
"Yan Qing, do you know that your sister is allergic to seafood?"
Wen Yanqing frowned. How could Xiao Ning be allergic to seafood? She loved shrimp the most.
He suddenly realized that the sister his mother was talking about was someone else. "Mom, are you talking about Wen Yu?"
"She seemed to have had allergies the first year she came home, but she's gone after that, hasn't she? Why, she's not going to bring up the past and say we didn't take good care of her, is she?"
Zeng Manli shook her head and said earnestly, "Yanqing, Xiaoyu is also your sister. You can't be too partial to her."
Wen Yanqing frowned, feeling unhappy, but he didn't want to spoil his mother's fun.
"I know, Mom."
