Chapter 170 Big Earthquake

The earth's crust suddenly shook violently. It was an unexpected and sudden earthquake.

It was accompanied by a rumbling sound, as if the whole earth was roaring wildly.

The building, which was already fragile, creaked as it swayed, and cracks, some visible and some hidden, appeared on the walls, as if it was about to collapse at any moment.

Lan Xiaolan and Nusi squatted under the table, using cups and pillows to protect each other. The two people who were leaning against each other held their breath, trying their best to endure the dizziness and panic.

The crowds watching the excitement in the square, the wide streets, and the flat land outside the city suddenly stopped in their tracks in panic.

They either crawl or squat on the ground, keeping their bodies as close to the ground as possible.

Some of them screamed in terror and tried their best to flee; others hugged their relatives and friends tightly, praying that this horrible disaster would end as soon as possible.

Collapsed stairs, fragmented mountains, river diversions, overturned buildings, and life slipping away without a trace.

The depressing nightmare comes, death is merciless, and the hurried footsteps are no match for the hanging scythe.

The huge rocks intertwined, buried my breath, hope disappeared, and silence gradually faded.

The strong earthquake shaking lasted for nearly half an hour.

After the Grim Reaper walked away, everyone slowly came to their senses.

Everything has changed in just a short period of time.

Those who had just arrived at the open space to watch the fireworks knelt down and saluted the gods in the sky to express their gratitude.

If it weren't for the sudden fireworks just now, most of them would still be under the fragile eaves and might have lost their lives at this moment.

Lan Xiaolan took Nusi's hand and crawled out from under the table.

The house was in a mess, with things on the tables, stools, and cabinets scattered all over the floor.

Fortunately, the overall structure of the house did not suffer major damage.

Lan Xiaolan covered her surging chest and murmured to herself, "Thank you, thank you. If you had built this house for me, I'm afraid I would never see you again."

Nusi looked at everything here with a confused look on her face.

"What are we going to do next?"

"Go get the first aid kit! Take all the medicines and some rescue tools, and let's go into the city to rescue people!"

Xiaolan said what she just said without thinking.

Although her heart was trembling and nervous, she was gasping for breath and had not yet come to her senses.

However, she did not allow herself to delay for a moment. What she had to do now was to go back to the city to rescue people.

The car drove towards the north of the city, and sounds of wailing and crying could be heard in the distance.

Those who were safe and sound rushed back to their homes as fast as they could to make sure their families and children were safe.

A middle-aged woman wearing a pure black Muslim dress staggered towards the church, wailing.

Her fat body made her look particularly clumsy, and she was tripped by the broken wall shattered by the earthquake without paying attention.

The woman sat on the ground, her legs scratched by the protruding steel bars, and blood was flowing out.

Lan Xiaolan and Luce quickly got out of the car, helped the woman up and helped her stop the bleeding.

The woman cried uncontrollably, her anxiety completely overshadowing the pain in her feet. She kept asking Lan Xiaolan and Nu Si for help.

"Please, take me to the church."

"But! But what can I do? Look, the church bell tower has completely collapsed. I can't see where it is."

"My child, my child, he is taking classes in the church today..."

"Please, please, save my child, please save him..."

"That's my only child."

Nusi supported the woman and comforted her softly, while Lan Xiaolan skillfully bandaged the old woman's wound.

"Today is Sunday. Every Sunday morning, the pastor will personally hold a service in the church."

“Then he would stay and give lessons and tell stories to the children.”

"So, there are probably many children buried in the rubble in the direction of the church."

Ruth was unwilling to accept this fact, she nodded with red eyes.

"Go, save people first."

When we arrived at the door of the church, the four-story building had completely collapsed, and the huge royal blue conical roof had fallen to the ground.

Lan Xiaolan's heart suddenly hung on the edge of a cliff.

Below the church where they were holding services, Xiaolan clearly saw a group of tall, dark-skinned men with muscular bodies struggling to lift up the rubble and tiles from the ruins.

One man after another, carrying one frightened or unconscious child after another, walked out of the ruins.

A little boy's foot was scratched, the wound was big and bloody.

When Lan Xiaolan was studying ancient tomb research, she encountered many special situations, so she still knew some professional first aid knowledge.

She placed the little boy in a more open place to prevent him from suffering secondary harm.

Then they brought clean water and disinfectant and cleaned the boy's wound.

Fortunately, they brought first aid bandages and cotton, and the little boy's leg was finally saved.

"Hurry up and bring the injured child over here. We have medicine here."

"Hurry! Send the child over." A loud and low voice made Lan Xiaolan's heart tremble. Why did this voice sound a little familiar?
