After crossing the last grassland, we arrived at the westernmost coastline of Country E.
The terrain here is unique. The coastal areas are all high peaks with an altitude of thousands of meters, which block the warm and humid water vapor, thus forming the perennial drought climate in Country E.
There is little vegetation on the shady side of the mountain, mostly drought-resistant plants such as cacti. The mountain is covered with sharp rocks, which makes people feel cold when looking at them.
The car drove quickly onto a straight, flat highway.
The highway is wide and not bumpy at all. It is a dark asphalt road with street lights installed on the roadside and vegetation planted to stabilize the mountain.
“This highway is well built.”
"Is this the first highway you helped build in Country E?"
Ren Tingxi raised the corner of his mouth and nodded.
“It’s really amazing.”
“The best is yet to come.”
"oh?"
"There are two peaks ahead, the highest peaks in Country E. These two peaks stand at the mouth of Country E's most important shipping route."
"Between the two peaks, there is a bridge called the Joey Bridge. It is the first and only large-scale cross-river bridge in this country so far."
"Is that the bridge you helped build?"
"Yes!"
"So today, you wanted to bring me here to show off."
"no!"
"What is that?"
"There's a story about the Joey Bridge, and I want to show it to you in person."
